White House: Texas
border is no ‘Katrina’

Politico, by Jonathan Topaz

A top White House official on Wednesday defended President Barack Obama’s response to the Texas border crisis and rejected the notion that it could become the president’s “Katrina.” “It doesn’t make sense to compare this to a natural disaster,” White House Domestic Policy Council Director Cecilia Muñoz said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” when asked about the Hurricane Katrina comparison. “This is a humanitarian situation that we have been on top of from the very beginning.” Earlier this week, Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar, whose Texas district is situated along the U.S.-Mexico border, said he hoped Obama’s decision not to visit the

The Texas border is no "Katrina". True enough.

Katrina was a natural event that was not the responsibility of the federal government, but the federal government got blamed when one state wouldn´t do its job.

The illegal alien crisis is an Obama-triggered event that is Obama´s constitutional responsibility to respond to, and Obama is doing everything he can to undermine any state trying to pick up the slack.

If they define being "on top of" this situation by dumping these people in every unsuspecting city near the border and expecting the local taxpayers to finance it all, then it will soon become a Katrina if it isn´t already. Just wait until the rioting in the camps begins and the diseases break out into the surrounding communities. Obama´s head is going to roll. (figuratively of course)

He promised them paradise to lure them here and they are now living like they lived back home, only with better food.

Katrina was a natural disaster; Invasion is an Obama-created disaster. This works for him on so many levels it is hard to count them. The first two are dumping illegals into communities that have resisted him, thereby punishing those communties; and bringing in hundreds of thousands of YOUNG Democrat breeding machines to do harm to this country for generations to come.

I lived in the New Orleans area during and for several years after Katrina. No. 1 pretty much said it all. Katrina was a natural disaster and the problems were caused during and after by a Democrat governor and a Democrat mayor of N.O. The invasion of illegal aliens is a planned destruction of our nation. President O-blame-others owns this lock, stock, and barrel.

Yes in Texas there is competent local leadership with an incompetent national leader the direct opposite of Katrina.

Perhaps the full cycle of history can be completed if the current incompetent leader is jailed for corruption.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney can be a polarizing figure even six years out of office. Thousands of fast food workers across the United States were walking off the job Thursday morning, affecting restaurants in about 150 cities nationwide. It was just the latest in a series of coordinated strikes that have taken place since November 2012, although Thursday’s strike may be the first such action to include large-scale civil disobedience. The culprit is the warming seas - and in particular the Gulf of Maine, whose waters are heating up faster than 99 percent of the world´s oceans, scientists say. Long-established species of commercial fish, like cod, herring and northern shrimp, are departing for colder waters. Black sea bass, blue crabs and new species of squid - all highly unusual for the Gulf - are turning up in fishermen´s nets. The Gulf of Maine´s warming reflects broader
