White House Strong-Arms Photo

TMZ, by Staff

Malia Obama went to a famous L.A. restaurant Monday night -- a restaurant regularly frequented by celebs and paparazzi -- and when the White House found out a photog took her pic, they went into DEFCON 1 to KILL the photos. The 16-year-old went to Gjelina in Venice, CA with some friends. The photog got the pic as Malia walked out and then sent it to the AKM-GSI agency to sell. The agency posted the pic on its website for media outlets to purchase, but several hours later The First Lady´s Office called AKM-GSI and asked them to please take the

This is the point that I have been trying to make for quite awhile. Obama dictates "share the wealth" and what has he done for the poor? His daughters go to a celeb restaurant? He would be more valid if his family "walked the walk," don´t you think?

We have reached a point where the Presidency controls the media--previously referred to at the "free press".

I recall GWB "requested" the press to avoid intrusion into his daughters lives, but he did not threaten them if they refused that request.

Lauren Bacall died this week at age 89. Her obituaries are paying tribute to a glamorous actress, a famed star from Hollywood’s Golden Age, the wife of Humphrey Bogart, and a lifetime liberal. She’s also being celebrated by liberals as a fighter for freedom in the arts, one who bravely confronted the closed-minded anti-communists in Washington—a stoic battler against Joe McCarthy and his “witch hunts.” Sorry, but reality is more complicated. The facts are that Lauren Bacall herself learned the truth about communism in Hollywood. She admitted to being badly duped by bad guys. She learned her lesson, even as her fellow

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Democrats fighting for revenues from oil companies here are reaching out to an old foe: Sarah Palin. The former GOP governor is a natural ally in a ballot fight to restore a law she signed in 2007 that implemented steep and progressive taxes on the biggest Alaska oil producers. Statehouse Republicans replaced her structure with one backed by oil producers, who are the largest contributors to the $14.4 million effort to defeat an Aug. 19 referendum to revert to the Palin-era oil-tax code.

Keep an eye on Minnesota. The state that gave us Michele Bachmann and Jesse Ventura just might decide to dump funnyman Al Franken from the Senate. Most pundits think that challenger Mike McFadden is, at best, a long shot. I don’t think so. In several polls the incumbent, a former Saturday Night Live star, can’t break the 50% mark. Given his narrow victory in 2008 (which some say wasn’t a real victory), it’s probably not that surprising that Mr. Franken is still a polarizing figure. But after six years in the Senate, one might expect that the incumbent would have built a more comfortable

California lawmakers are poised to enact a regulation requiring every college and university that receives public funding to define consensual sex in a way that attempts to micro-manage everyone’s sexual affairs. The first-in-the-nation legislation already passed California’s state Senate by a vote of 27-4 in May, The Associated Press reports. If the bill passes the assembly this month, it will then go to the desk of Gov. Jerry Brown. The bill, which is based on guidance from the Obama administration, requires an “affirmative consent standard” that school administrators would use to determine whether a sexual assault has occurred. The standard would define

It makes sense that we are talking about it in the media and on the Internet. But it is also a real problem. A Travis County grand jury today indicted Gov. Rick Perry on two charges related to his effort last year to force District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg to resign after her drunken driving arrest. Grand jurors charged Perry, 63, with abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony, and coercion of a public official. The indictments stemmed from Perry’s threat last summer to withhold $7.2 million in state money from Lehmberg’s office unless she step down – a threat he later carried out by vetoing an appropriation in the state budget. The money was earmarked for the state’s Public Integrity Unit, which is housed in Lehmberg’s office. Perry’s veto forced
