Press Groups Call on Obama Admin
to End ‘Pervasive’ Secrecy Practices

Washington Free Beacon [DC], by CJ Ciaramella

Dozens of leading U.S. press organizations are urging the Obama administration to live up to its transparency promises and reverse a trend of increased secrecy at federal agencies. Thirty-eight national press organizations and transparency groups—including the Society for Professional Journalists, Investigative Reporters and Editors, and the Poynter Institute—called on the Obama administration to end “politically driven suppression of news and information about federal agencies,” in a letter to the White House released Tuesday. “Over the past two decades, public agencies have increasingly prohibited staff from communicating with journalists unless they go through public affairs offices or through political appointees,” the

Those so called leading US press organizations are therefor encouraged to live up to their urgings toward the obama administration and to start publishing the news, and by that I mean the whole news. Not just the news good for the socialist liberals but the news as it is discovered.

The whole news and nothing but the news would suit me just fine. What is ironic is they urge the obama administration to correct the self same habits they have themselves in spades.

Something that has to do with a black kettle comes to mind.

The media want openness to their requests, so the can then dispense their version of the news. Either way Obama wins.

Anyone graduating from any university with a degree in journalism should be laughed out of the graduation ceremonies, followed closely behind by the education majors.

The women´s studies majors shouldn´t even bother to attend, while their parents should be supplied with razor blades so they can slit their wrists for for flushing $200,00 down the toilet.

The anthropology majors and their folks can peacefully overdose on pills. They meant well.

So Obama has an "enemies list". It consists of everyone who doesn´t write favorably about him. From history, we know that enemies´ lists are just the abcesses.

When the press groups are targeted, they start complaining. From there, it only piques their interest as to what is being hidden from them. And when they think they´re being treated like mushrooms, some will start to dig.

Obama didn´t know when to leave well enough alone. Power has gone to his head and made him mad -- not angry mad. He believes that almost all American media and press are on his side and if they are not, they soon will be. He will see to that. He MUST control the outflow of information to the American public.

If enough media finally catch on, that Obama is hiding far more than meets the jaundiced eye, they will start behaving like starving bloodhounds on a hot trail.

A little bitty story here, a teensy little story there and soon the cracked dike will break. The media who are there to facilitate the break will be heroes.

Obama´s dictatorial behavior in trying to control media access to his myriad foreign and domestic flops is beginning to wear thin on the media themselves. He isn´t invincible. With the media doing their jobs, and with public outcry reaching cacophonous decibel levels, he could go down.

Keep praying. It´s working.

How can a letter of this nature be so late in coming? That´s the news here. How could responsible news agencies wait so long to complain about politically driven news and information.

Forget "over the past two decades," under Obama control of the news has clearly accelerated before our eyes. Keep citizens in the dark and the take over will go a lot faster, especially when a president is willing to use his phone and pen to advance an agenda of destruction.

The US press should be ashamed of itself. They have not only shirked their duty but have even been complicit in the dictatorial takeover by Obama.

How could they possibly have accepted such conditions as laid down to them in the Murrieta holding area for illegals...no pictures, no audio recordings, no interviews, and only such items and information as would be released to them weeks later?! What a sham.

The UK press (and particularly the Daily Mail) is showing them how it´s done in a still free country with a still functional press and still existing set of journalistic standards. If not for them, we would be almost totally in the dark. Thank goodness Drudge features their reports so prominently.

This administration is saturated by extreme ideologues. Their focus is always on how any issue shakes out politically. That is what ideologues do. It is all about framing the narrative. Of course, they want to control the message. It is how they get things done that they could not normally get done with any outside scrutiny. The media abdicated their role because of their support of Obama. They decided to become cheerleaders. They discarded any curiosity regarding Obama that would paint him in a unflattering light. NOW they want to complain about access? Please. I can only laugh at their naïveté. Obama played them because they let him. The time for objectivity and personal integrity has passed. The media is like Dr. Frankenstein and they are just now realizing they can´t control the monster they created. Fools, once you sell your soul, it remains sold.

The military is growing more “sensitive” under the Obama administration, Pentagon observers say, by relaxing long-standing restrictions on soldiers’ religious and personal liberties. The efforts by the Defense Department to adapt to cultural change go beyond the moves to end the controversial “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy and allow women in combat. In recent weeks, the Pentagon has backed off controversial hairstyle regulations that critics said discriminated against black women and made the phrase “so help me god” optional in the oath for airmen. Earlier this year, the military loosened its rules for soldiers who want to wear turbans or

He was the first American suicide bomber in that civil war. Abusalha, 22, was a community college student who grew up playing basketball in Vero Beach, Florida. But Abusalha, the son of a Palestinian father and Italian-American mother, became increasingly consumed with religious fervor. He said he was influenced by a close, radical friend, according to a video he made before he killed himself and 16 others while fighting
