WASHINGTON, D.C. — The unaccompanied children from Central American crossing the U.S.-Mexico border illegally should be deported except in extreme circumstances, according to House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer. “We have an immediate humanitarian crisis that confronts this country, we also have a crisis in terms of this country cannot continue to absorb, nor should it, a limitless number of people who — particularly children who want to cross our border,” Hoyer told reporters Tuesday. Sounds like Hoyer dredged up one of Obama´s straw men. Nobody ever said that the USA should give sanctuary to every child in the world, what the liberal Democrats want is for the USA to allow into the country every young illegal alien who shows up at the borderline, quality them for welfare, and when they turn 18 give them blanket US citizenship, so that they can register as Democrat voters.

But like all Representatives he faces an election in November, so maybe he is saying this for votes in his district.

The Obama administration is highly exercised about “inversion,” the practice by which an American corporation acquires a foreign company and moves its headquarters out of the United States to benefit from lower tax rates abroad. Not fair, says Barack Obama. It’s taking advantage of an “unpatriotic tax loophole” that hardworking American families have to make up for by the sweat of their brow. His treasury secretary calls such behavior a violation of “economic patriotism.” Nice touch. Democrats used to wax indignant about having one’s patriotism questioned. Now they throw around the charge with abandon, tossing it at corporations that refuse
