Israel kills top Gaza militant, five
others in air strike - Gaza officials

Gaza - Israel assassinated a top local leader of the Islamic Jihad militant group in the northern Gaza Strip early on Wednesday, neighbours and hospital officials said, and five others including family members were also killed. An Israeli military spokeswoman said she had no initial details on the strike. The militant, Hafez Hamad, two brothers and his parents were killed when his house was bombed in an air strike in the town of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, Hamas media and Gaza interior ministry said. An unidentified woman in the house was also killed. That brought the death toll in Gaza to at least 22 since Israel launched its offensive

Comments:
Great shooting, Israel. The cowards continue to keep their families as "human shields." This aspect will definitely have "Amnesty International" complaining. Real men, and not this coward branch of the Muslim faith would move their families out of harm´s way.

A previously unnoticed detail in a background conversion of a video taken minutes after the Ferguson shooting could change the course of the investigation into Mike Brown’s death. The original video poster appears sympathetic to the narrative that Mike Brown was shot unarmed with his hands in the air. An approximate transcription of the background conversation, as related by the “Conservative Treehouse” blog: @6:28/6:29 of video - #1 How’d he get from there to there? #2 Because he ran, the police was still in the truck –

Iraqi Kurdish forces backed by U.S. air strikes on Sunday retook the country´s largest dam from ISIS militants who seized it the previous week, Agence France-Presse reported. A peshmerga officer and two political party officials told AFP that Kurdish forces had retaken Mosul Dam, which provides electricity and irrigation water for farming to much of the surrounding region in Iraq´s northern Nineveh province. The U.S. military confirmed it conducted nine airstrikes Saturday near Erbil and the dam in mosul in an effort to help Kurdish forces retake it from violent extremists. Detroit police chief James Craig – nicknamed “Hollywood” for his years spent in the LAPD and his seeming love of being in front of the camera – has repeatedly called on “good” and “law-abiding” Detroiters to arm themselves against criminals in the city. His words have not fallen on deaf ears. (Snip) Besides having the worst homicide rate among large American cities, Detroit experienced 12,935 burglaries last year. With around 250,000 households, that means Detroiters have roughly a 1 in 20 chance of being burgled. At least 44 people have overdosed on the substance in the last week, and 20 of them have been hospitalized. There have been no reported deaths. “These products pose a serious threat to public health, especially to young people, and it is our responsibility to do whatever we can to combat the recent rash of overdoses,” the governor said in a statement Thursday. Riyadh - A Saudi Arabian judge has upheld a sentence of a month in prison and 50 lashes for a businesswoman convicted of insulting members of the morality police during an argument, the local al-Medina newspaper reported on Sunday. Incidents of heavy-handed behavior by the morality police have come under growing criticism on social media from inside the kingdom in recent years, straining relations between Saudi citizens and the official body. The appeals court in Mecca upheld the sentence, passed by a district court in Jeddah, after the woman was found guilty of "cursing the morality police" and calling them "liars",

Members of the terror organisation apparently attempted to reactivate the blocked accounts but Twitter’s staff have repeatedly closed them down again. The accounts had been used to boast of victories in Iraq and Syria and threaten US forces. This is ridiculous. AUSTIN (KXAN) – A grand jury has handed up an indictment against Gov. Perry wanted Lehmberg to resign because she had been busted for drunk driving. They say a prosecutor could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich, and this always seemed like hyperbole, until Friday night a Texas grand jury announced an indictment of governor Rick Perry. The “crime” for which Perry faces a sentence of 5 to 99 years in prison is vetoing funding for a state agency. The conventions of reporting — which treat the fact of an indictment as the primary news, and its merit as a secondary analytic question — make it difficult for people reading the news to grasp just how farfetched this indictment is. The Obama administration has done little to calm racial tensions as they spread from Manhattan to St. Louis to Los Angeles. Quite the opposite, some top officials have fueled African-American fears of racism with false accusations of anti-black discrimination. Attorney General Eric Holder’s race-baiting is no secret. Justice Department documents show the nation’s top cop gave thousands of dollars to help the Rev. Al Sharpton organize marches protesting the death of Trayvon Martin. Now he’s sent the civil-rights unit to St. Louis to do the same thing in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown. Less known, however, is the role of Labor Secretary Thomas

The scandal that erupted Friday night involved millions of dollars, statehouse power plays—oh yeah, and alcohol, police, and masks. Texas Governor Rick Perry was indicted Friday on charges of abuse of power—a first degree felony—and coercion—a third degree felony. The charges stem from a 2013 scandal that has been quietly rumbling in the Lone Star State as Perry has been floated as a viable contender for the Republican nomination in 2016. This is a complex case, which might be why it has not made national headlines the way other recent, state-level scandals (like Bridgegate, in New Jersey) have. Below, I have outlined

A grand jury in Travis County, Texas, indicted Governor Rick Perry today. Why? For exercising his constitutional prerogative by threatening to veto, and then vetoing, an appropriation to support the public corruption unit in Travis County’s district attorney’s office. This followed the arrest of the county’s district attorney, Democratic Party activist Rosemary Lehmberg, for drunk driving, after she was found “with an open bottle of vodka in the front passenger seat of her car in a church parking lot in Austin.” Ms. Lehmberg served 45 days in jail. The Travis County district attorney’s office has long been a cesspool of corruption.
