Sen. Menendez suggests Cuban
smear, says U.S. should investigate

CNN, by Dana Bash & Evan Perez

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 7/8/2014 7:38:01 PM

Washington - Sen. Robert Menendez, who has been dogged by a federal corruption probe, suggests he was the target of a Cuban intelligence smear plot over allegations -- which the FBI has discounted -- that he had sex with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic. The New Jersey Democrat told CNN in an exclusive interview on Tuesday that the Justice Department should look at any evidence it may have that he was the subject of a conspiracy by the regime to spread false allegations. Menendez said he has for years had a "firm position in opposition to the Cuban regime" on grounds that it violates human rights.

Comments:
So, the prostitutes he visited were "legal." Glad we cleared that up. (s/o).

Sorry Bobby, but Eric Holder is too busy right now not investigating the numerous and sundry instances of blatant malfeasance perpetrated by the "most transparent administration" to provide political cover for some pedophile politician from NJ.
Take a number ya pervert.

This has gotta be from the Cuban version of "The Onion."

In real life, the Cuban government would be giving the pedophile Senator an award named "Friend of the Revolution" or something like that.

Washington - A $694 million bill to further secure the U.S. border with Mexico, amid a flood of Central American migrants, cleared a procedural vote in the House of Representatives on Friday. By a vote of 218-191, the Republican-controlled House paved the way for debate and a final vote on passage of the bill later on Friday. No Democrats voted in favor of advancing the controversial legislation.

Gaza - The Hamas Islamist group´s armed wing in the Gaza Strip said on Saturday it had no clear indication on the whereabouts of an Israeli soldier that Israel has accused them of abducting, adding he may have been killed during an ambush. A statement by the group said it had no contact with militants who were operating in the area in the southern Gaza Strip where Israel said Second-Lieutenant Hadar Goldin, 23, went missing on Friday, and it feared all had been killed. "We have lost contact with the group of fighters that took part in the ambush and we believe they were all killed in the (Israeli) bombardment.

Last week, Arizona executed Joseph Wood. The procedure took nearly two hours and Friday, a Fox 10 reporter revealed that executioners had to give Wood 15 doses of lethal drugs. The Arizona Department of Corrections told reporter Troy Hayden Friday that it gave Wood the drugs over the course of his execution. The revelation that it took 15 doses of the drugs revises earlier reports that Wood was only given two doses. In light of Wood’s death, Arizona plans to review its execution process, the department said. Wood’s execution drew widespread attention for both its long duration, and for conflicting reports that he gasped for air

Washington - About 550 Army majors, including some serving in Afghanistan, will soon be told they have to leave the service by next spring as part of a budget-driven downsizing of the service. Gen. John Campbell, the vice chief of the Army, acknowledged Friday that telling troops in a war zone that they´re out of a job is a difficult task. But he said some of the soldiers could join the National Guard or the Army Reserve. (Snip) The Army declined to say how many majors will be notified while they are at the battlefront. It is too early to say anything definitive about the Hamas decision to apparently break the ceasefire and attack an Israeli position, except that if it is true, as reports indicate, that Hamas militants came through a tunnel and carried underground and back into Gaza a live Israeli captive, then this moment could represent not another terrible, dispiriting incident in a terrible, dispiriting mini-war, but a fairly decisive turning point in which all swords are unsheathed. Washington - It just got a little easier to swap cellphone providers. President Barack Obama signed a bill into law on Friday making it legal once again to unlock a cellphone without permission from your wireless provider, so long as the service contract has expired. Copyright law prohibits circumventing digital locks on technological devices. But for several years, cellphones were granted an exemption by government copyright lawyers as a way of making it easier for consumers to change carriers and recycle old phones. Then under industry pressure, the Library of Congress — which oversees copyright law — agreed to let the exemption lapse

Washington - President Barack Obama told Russian President Vladimir Putin Friday that the United States remains deeply concerned that Russia is ramping up support for pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine. He later conceded that pressure from recently imposed U.S. and European sanctions "hasn´t resolved the problem yet." In a phone call between the two leaders, Obama also raised concerns that Russia violated a key Cold War era nuclear weapons treaty, the White House said. The Obama administration has said Russia violated a 1987 treaty that bans all U.S. and Russian missiles of intermediate range, meaning those that can travel

The Obama administration on Friday appealed the ruling that some subsidies under ObamaCare are illegal. The Justice Department filed a petition with the full D.C. The 2-1 ruling dealt a major blow to the healthcare law, and if allowed to stand could demolish one of the pillars of the Affordable Care Act. “The disruption threatened by the panel majority’s erroneous interpretation and the direct conflict with King present a question of ‘exceptional importance’

President Barack Obama blasted congressional Republicans Friday for failing to craft a workable response to the border crisis before leaving Washington for their summer recess, setting the stage for executive actions to address the surge in child migrants from central America. “House Republicans as we speak are trying to pass the most extreme and unworkable version of a bill that they already know is going nowhere, that can’t pass the Senate,” Obama said in a hastily-announced afternoon appearance in the White House press briefing room. “They´re not even trying to to solve the problem,” the president complained.

Tefft is a former envy to Ukraine under Obama, and to Georgia and Lithuania under Republican President George W. Bush. Tefft will go to Moscow as U.S.-Russia ties are severely strained over Washington´s sanctions on Russia due to its support for rebels in eastern Ukraine. Conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status had their applications denied by IRS bureaucrats who called them names like “crazies,” “rabid” and other words that can’t be printed in a family newspaper. Until the scandal erupted last year, Lois G. Lerner was in charge of the IRS division overseeing tax-exempt organizations. An independent panel appointed by the Pentagon and Congress said Thursday that President Obama’s strategy for sizing the armed services is too weak for today’s global threats. The National Defense Panel called on the president to dump a major section of his 2014 Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) and write a broader strategy that requires the military to fight on multiple fronts at once. It also said the shrinking U.S. armed forces, which are being downsized to fit that strategy and budget cuts, is a “serious strategic misstep on the part of the United States.” The forces’ numbers spelled out in Mr. Obama’s

Bill O’Reilly obviously doesn’t care for how President Obama and the Democrats are running things, but tonight he also had some tough words for the GOP. He asked guest Kate Obenshain why the Republicans continue to remain in the muck with the left and try to “destroy one another” instead of getting things done. O’Reilly asked, “Shouldn’t they rise above it?” Obenshain argued that it’s Democrats doing all the nasty politicking and name-calling, as well as the ginning up of impeachment. O’Reilly, however, noted some conservatives are bringing it up and said there’s “plenty of hate on both sides.” Obenshain objected, “No,

Yet there is little that lawmakers or the courts can do about it. The situation illustrates the obscure, Byzantine process used to create federal regulations — and how easily it can go awry. “It’s
