Quinn: If Chicago needs
help battling violence, just ask

Sun-Times [Chicago, IL], by Natasha Korecki *

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 7/8/2014 7:21:54 PM

Gov. Pat Quinn on Tuesday said he is prepared to deploy Illinois State Troopers to boost Chicago´s efforts to combat violence -- but Mayor Rahm Emanuel hasn´t asked. "If they have a need for additional help, they should let us know," Quinn told reporters in an unrelated news conference on Tuesday. "I think it´s always based on their request. I´m not going to impose anything on any local municipality in the state or a big city like Chicago." Quinn´s comments came after a violent holiday weekend in Chicago that left 13 dead at least 58 wounded despite hundreds of additional officers assigned to city streets in that time period.

After last weekend, Chicago is not going to have a "Summer of Love."

What might have happened if Obama and Ayres had not squandered the 100 million Annenberg Grant for South Side Chicagomschools?
The Dems intentionally keep blacks illiterate, poor and dependent trapped in Union dominated schools -the new slavery.
To this add thousands of disease ridden ILLEGALS.

Where are the low class cowardly hypocrites Jesse and Al?

Oh wait...these are black kids being shot by black kids not white children in gun free zone school. I suppose that makes a difference.

Donetsk, Ukraine - Determined to preserve the pro-Russian revolt in eastern Ukraine, Russia reinforced what Western and Ukrainian officials described as a stealth invasion on Wednesday, sending armored troops across the border as it expanded the conflict to a new section of Ukrainian territory. (Snip) Russia, which has denied it is helping the insurgents, did not acknowledge the military movements. But the Russians have signaled that they would not countenance a defeat of an insurgency in the heavily Russian eastern part of Ukraine, which would amount to a significant domestic political setback for President Vladimir V. Washington - The federal immigration court system should be separated from the Justice Department and operated independently of federal law enforcement, the top two leaders of the immigration judges´ union said Wednesday. Judge Dana Leigh Marks, president of the National Association of Immigration Judges, said immigration judges act as arbiters in deportation cases being argued by Homeland Security Department lawyers but judges also are treated as attorneys for the government. As employees of DOJ´s Executive Office for Immigration Review, Marks said, the judges´ dual roles can potentially blur the lines for judges

Brownsville, TX - A federal judge in Texas denied Wednesday a conservative activist´s request for an emergency stay to stop the government from transporting immigrants who entered the country illegally in South Texas to other states or releasing them on their own recognizance. In a complaint filed in July, Orly Taitz argued that by sending immigrant children and families to various states while South Texas was overwhelmed by an immigration surge, the U.S. government created a public health risk. She called for a two-month quarantine and medical screening for all immigrants detained after entering the country.

Canberra - The hunt for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 will focus on the southern part of the existing search zone after a new clue to the plane´s possible location emerged, Australia said on Thursday. Fresh information suggested the jet "may have turned south" earlier than thought, Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss said. New York - The FBI is investigating whether Russian hackers staged a cyber-attack on major Wall Street businesses this month in retaliation for US sanctions imposed over Ukraine, Bloomberg News reported last night. The Russian hackers allegedly stole large amounts of sensitive data from JP Morgan Chase and at least one other bank, according to sources familiar with the investigation. The FBI is also reportedly looking into possible links to recent hacking of large European financial institutions. The sophistication of the attacks appeared to be beyond the capability of normal criminal hackers, according to Bloomberg.

Louisiana Gov. Mr. Jindal, who had embraced the Common Core in 2010, this week said he now sees it as another example of an overbearing federal government. His about-face follows that of another potential 2016 candidate, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, who has reversed course on his signature immigration bill, and Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky,

Some 15 months after Americans learned about the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups, we still have no clue how such an abuse was allowed to happen. And every day, the story only gets murkier. This week, for instance, a government watchdog group, Judicial Watch, said administration officials admitted that all the “missing” e-mails belonging to Lois Lerner (the woman at the heart of the scandal) had been backed up after all — as part of a practice to back up all the government’s e-mails. No government official had said anything like that before. As House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., describes it, these reports are

The shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., has been so heavily politicized that it would have been unreasonable to expect Brown´s funeral to be free of politics — especially when it featured a eulogy by the Rev. Al Sharpton. And indeed, the Brown service, held Monday at Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis, was intensely political. But not in the way some observers expected. It´s probably safe to say most white viewers thought Sharpton would deliver a rabble-rousing condemnation of the police, the government, and the American system, concluding that they all combined to end a promising 18-year-old

A ´supercavitating´ submarine creates a bubble of air that encompasses the whole vehicle by ejecting gas through the nose with enough force that it forms water vapor. This greatly reduces drag and allows it to travel at high speeds not possible by standard submarines. It dazzled the masses when it hit, flexing nuclear-tipped missiles that completed the "nuclear triad" of deterrence. But other technologies soon surpassed it in terms of speed and agility. What NHTSA is proposing could begin a transformation in the American transportation system that makes our lives better and freer — or gives government more power over where we go and when. "This document initiates rulemaking that would propose to create a new Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard, FMVSS No. 150, to require vehicle-to-vehicle communication capability for light vehicles,"
