President Barack Obama has accepted an invitation from Texas Governor Rick Perry yesterday to meet for a ´substantive´ discussion about illegal immigration when the president comes to Texas tomorrow. Oh, Governor Perry will shake Obama´s hand under these changed circumstances. He just wasn´t going to participate in a slam-bam-thank-you-cowboy on the tarmac. Perry´s had that experience before when he tried to had Obama a letter at the Austin airport and Obama refused to take it. Perry ended up handing it to Valerie Jarrett. That was about illegal border crossings and the financial burden on the state of Texas, too.

Governor Perry should have declined to meet with obama in this forum. The "faith leaders and local elected officials" are not identified. So, it seems likely they are a hand-picked audience of obama bootlickers.

FTA: The White House has said multiple times that the president does not need to come to the border in person to witness the humanitarian crisis because high-level administration officials are keeping an eye on the situation and giving him regular updates.

I´m sure that excuse would´ve sufficed for Bush during Katrina, right? With all the infectious diseases and costs this has brought to our country and very poor coverage by the media, it´s truly media malpractice.

When companies are heading for the door as fast as they decently can, you have to ask yourself why? President Obama´s approach is a rather different one; let´s just lock the door and stop them from leaving. On both sides of the US political divide, America´s apparent corporate exodus via so-called "inversion takeovers" is a source of growing concern. Hamas leaders, both in Gaza and abroad, have called for the start of the third intifada - or Palestinian uprising - after violent riots with live fire erupted throughout Jerusalem and the West Bank last night. Violence flared up as thousands of Palestinians took to the streets, rioting and protesting Israel’s actions in Gaza. Approximately 10,000 people marched from Ramallah to Jerusalem, where they clashed with Israeli police. Two Palestinians were killed and approximately 200 were injured when protests turned violent near the Qalandiya checkpoint, just north of Jerusalem.
