Store Ignores Obvious Signs,

A furniture store in Takoma Park, Maryland that calls itself a “Weapons Free Environment” took its policy a bit too far on Independence Day. That’s when a loss prevention officer at IKEA approached Alan Goldberg, who carried a visible, holstered firearm into the store, telling him he would have to leave the premises or place the weapon in his vehicle, according to NBC Washington. The request caught Goldberg off guard: he is Takoma Park’s chief of police, and he was in uniform during his visit.

Comments:
IKEA deserves a special award in the "Stupid" category.

Lie-beralism is a very serious mental disease, where the person´s brain fails to produce that part that is capable of understanding logic, reason or facts.

All they are capable of understanding is how something feels. Consequently, you get really, really idiotic, illogical actions like this.

It would almost be funny if lie-berals couldn´t vote. But they can, and they give us idiots like Øvomit, Pelosi and Reid on a regular basis...

The safest place for the weapon is in it´s holster, not locked in an unattended car.

I´m betting the security dude is working at IKEA because he couldn´t pass the test to become a real cop.

If you´ve never been to Takoma Park, it is as loony leftist as it gets. Years before anyone was calling himself a vegan, they had something there called the Fruitarian Network that asked people not to mow their lawns because it would cause pain to the grass.

One of the chief concerns of America’s Founders in the early days of the Republic was the possibility that foreigners would usurp American political power. As Alexander Hamilton wrote in Federalist No. 68, “[the] most deadly adversaries of republican government might naturally be expected to make their approaches from more than one quarter, but chiefly from the desire in foreign powers to gain improper [ascendancy] in our councils.” The possibility that foreigners might gain political power and subvert traditional American values is even more acute in today’s climate of mass illegal immigration.

Francis Schaeffer once said, "Tell me what the world is saying today, and I’ll tell you what the church will be saying in seven years." Schaeffer, a theologian, may have been off by a few years, but he certainly predicted the future of the Presbyterian Church USA, which has now embraced just about every single leftist ideological tenet. The PCUSA has joined the drift to the Left that for decades has characterized other Main Line entities such as the Episcopal and Methodist churches. But it is a bit of a surprise to see the PCUSA has recently warmly embraced anti-Semitism. As Mark Tooley reports in the American Spectator,

Today the Supreme Court ruled unanimously against the Obama Administration’s abuse of the recess appointment power in NLRB v. Canning. Unanimous! And not for the first time. Think back to Sackett v. EPA two years ago, where a similarly unanimous Court ruled that the EPA had grossly exceeded its legal authority, or the Utility Air Regulatory Group decision on Monday, which, although 5 – 4, held that the EPA can’t simply re-write the Clean Air Act to suit its convenience. The Obama Administration would seem to be faring poorly before the third branch.

Conservatives can be forgiven for believing the political winds are at their back. Obama is flirting with historically low approval ratings as much of the public simply tunes him out. Democrat-backed policies have failed to lift the economy and public anxiety about the limits of government activism grows. Conservative challengers will do well enough this primary season to argue that the "tea party" is alive and well. Behind the scenes, though, the left is retooling and the conservative movement seems unequal to the challenge.

Sorry to be crude, but for all intents and purposes, America is currently the victim of a national rape, figuratively speaking – what our nation is experiencing on the southern border is a corporate violation. Moreover, being implanted in the womb of what was once a sovereign nation complete with boundaries and laws is an uninvited presence that, if it were a fetus, pro-choicers would heartily applaud terminating. Instead, liberal pundits and politicians alike contend that America should never turn children in need away.

It is likely that many people will die young because Bowe Bergdahl chose to act out a childish, grandiose fantasy in which he cast himself as a wise and courageous man of mystery and adventure. Both his parents and the American taxpayer supported Mr. Bergdahl to play pretend soldier with a script that reads like a cheesy story for eleven-year-old boys. In Bergdahl’s feverish imagination, which he was tragically allowed to enact, he was a magnificently skilled survivalist who also solved the problem of war in his environmentally and socially sensitive walk about the new world order.

In a stunning upset whose shock waves have yet to be fully felt or understood, Brat handily defeated House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Evidently taken aback by this unexpected and unprecedented outcome, Cantor failed to include the obvious in his concession speech: “I congratulate my opponent and promise to work to elect him in the fall.”

After breaking into an elderly widow’s house twice in a row, two teenagers were killed by an armed occupant, in self-defense. Steven Crider, 17, and Michael Sambrano, 14, were shot in the chest numerous times after breaking in to the widow’s home. Now, the dead thieves’ friends and family are publicly complaining that “it was wrong that they were shot” and that the thieves were just “tryin’ to eat.” Everyone needs to eat, but how many people actually need to steal in order to eat? The number must be extremely small.

To be sure, healthcare.gov’s failure to verify Obama’s identity implies nothing whatsoever as to whether ordinary citizens should question it. Undoubtedly, the system glitch represents nothing more, and nothing less, than yet another instance of racist computers conspiring against Obama. The Harrison J. The White House on Tuesday formally requested $3.7 billion in emergency funding from Congress to deal with an influx of Central American minors along the southern border. But the proposal was quickly met with broad skepticism among Republican lawmakers, who were doubtful that the package would be approved quickly — if at all. Administration officials said the request is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at building more detention centers, adding immigration judges, and beefing up border patrols and air surveillance. President Obama has said he hopes such steps will both speed deportations and discourage adults from sending children on

Rather, the aim is to display—if not actually engage in—a more deliberative process, even if amid controversy. In 2008, when the plate was set for the national Democrats, she lost the nomination to Barack Obama, of scant years and no gravitas, who soared out of nowhere to wrench destiny from her on the unspecified promise of "change." Now, "change" has come, and people don´t like it.
