Texas governor refuses to shake

immigration crisis amid Dem fears it
is president´s ´Katrina moment´

Daily Mail [UK], by Francesca Chambers

Original Article

Texas Governor Rick Perry is refusing an offer from the White House to meet President Barack Obama on the tarmac for a handshake when he lands in Texas tomorrow. ´I appreciate the offer to greet you at Austin-Bergstrom Airport, but a quick handshake on the tarmac will not allow for a thoughtful discussion regarding the humanitarian and national security crises enveloping the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas,´ Perry said yesterday in a letter to the president declining his invitation. ´I would instead offer to meet with you at any time during your visit to Texas for a substantive meeting

Comments:
Rick Perry - not just another pretty face. Denying Obama the chance to get a photo of the two shaking hands is brilliant.

You watch, Perry will be called a redneck racist, but we won´t hear a peep about all those democrats on the ballot this November that won´t even be seen with the big jerk.

Totally unfair comparison. Bush did nothing wrong (that anyone has documented) over Katrina. He had bad optics for a day or two. The badness concerning Katrina started weeks after Bush was castigated, and persists today: a vastly over-bureaucratized FEMA.

In contrast, the flood of alien children is a direct result of Obama´s attitudes, philosophies and executive orders -- now amplified by his total ineptness.

The terrorist known as obama had his "Katrina moment" years ago and in the same relative area when he closed down all of the oil wells in the Gulf and let China have the oil. The news media just hasn´t noticed and continues to hold their hands over their eyes today. How many Katrinas does it take to invoke an impeachment? Apparently, the answer is in the thousands because that´s how many times obama has screwed America.

You go, Guv Perry. I wouldn´t shake that hand either. No telling where it´s been.

I´ve never understood this "Katrina Moment" BS. What better way to see the magnitude of the damage than viewing it from the air? What was he supposed to do - get in a boat that could be used for rescuing survivors? President Bush got hosed on Katrina then and is still getting hosed to this day.

I wouldn´t shake that hand either, who knows where that hand has been. Perhaps Reggie knows. A smart move by Perry now would be to initiate the procedures required for Texas to withdraw from the Union.

This followed by the announcement that all illegal border crossers, not formally legal citizens of the USA, would be kicked out of Texas after they served jail time, and after Texas withdrew. After they get out of jail, they get free train tickets to Washington DC.

Failing that, they should purge their voting rolls of all people who cannot prove they were born in the USA or who cannot prove citizenship. Then they should enforce voter ID. Let the Marxists take that to the Supreme Court.

I haven´t seen this take yet:

The law that is being used to prevent the instant deportation of the minors from the non-contiguous countries was reauthorized by a Democrat House and Senate led by respectively, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and signed by President Bush. I believe it was passed unanimously. The intent of the bill was to prevent human trafficking victims being returned to their pimps. It´s called the "William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Re-authorization Act of 2008". It has nothing to do with what we are dealing with now. The President, if he so chooses (which he won´t) or the Attorney General (also a "No") could state that this Law does not apply(which it doesn´t).

No, this one sits squarely in the laps of both parties but the President has the power to change this. If he doesn´t, it´s his baby!

Kurdish fighters have issued an urgent call to arms amid warnings of an impending massacre by the Islamic State terrorist group in northern Syria. The Kurdish People´s Protection Unit (YPG) has been locked in a fierce battle with IS and other Islamist groups almost since the start of Syria´s civil war. Despite being relatively isolated and receiving no foreign aid from any states the YPG has proven perhaps the most effective force in pushing back against IS. But as the jihadis´ focus shifts to consolidating power in northern Syria the Kurds have found themselves under fiercer attack than ever.

The MEP asked all 59 MPs from Scottish constituencies to promise in writing not to take part in votes and debates in the Commons which have no impact on Scotland. David Cameron dramatically played the patriotic card yesterday by accusing Ed Miliband of trampling on the rights of the English by blocking ‘home rule’ measures for England. In a move designed to upstage the Labour conference, which started on Friday, the Prime Minister raised the stakes in the bitter war of words that has raged since the Scottish referendum. Mr Cameron called on Mr Miliband to drop his opposition to Tory plans for ‘English votes for English laws’ to match devolved powers for Scotland, which have been promised now the Scots have voted to reject independence.

French fighter jets struck against the militant Islamic State group on Friday morning. The attack made France the first foreign country to publicly add military muscle to United States airstrikes against the terrorist group, which has drawn criticism around the world and in a unanimous UN Security Council resolution for its barbarity. French President Francois Hollande said the target was "entirely destroyed." Dozens of extremist fighters were also killed in the four strikes, according to Iraq´s military spokesman.

Western states defeated a Russian proposal on Friday to remove Syria´s alleged past nuclear activities from the agenda of meetings of the UN atomic agency, diplomats said. But in a vote that highlighted how polarizing the global political debate has become, China supported Russia´s initiative while only about half of the nations on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) board - 17 out of 35 - voted against. Western diplomats argued that Damascus should be kept under pressure to cooperate with the IAEA´s long-stalled inquiry, even though this has hardly advanced in the last three years as the country descended into bloodshed.

The National Security Advisor of the United States did something astonishing yesterday. In the middle of a reporter’s questioning, she bolted from the podium of the White House pressroom, saying, “Nice to see you,” fleeing a situation she evidently was unable to cope with. The question that caused Ms. Rice to flee was a fairly simple one: whether or not the president has authorized the bombing of targets in Syria. Rice responded multiple times that the timing of strikes would not be released, but that was not the question at hand, and reporters pressed her on whether her boss had authorized
