Tucker Carlson: Menendez claim ´bizarre´
Politico, by Hadas Gold

Original Article

Daily Caller editor-in-chief Tucker Carlson said he would be shocked if the Cuban government concocted the story that Sen. Bob Menenedez had cavorted with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic -- an accusation brought this week by Menenedez´s lawyers in a new report from The Washington Post. "I really can’t assess it without more information,” Carlson told the Post. “It’s bizarre on its face, but also fascinating.” Menendez is asking the Justice Department to pursue evidence obtained by investigators that Cuban agents had planted the story about the prostitutes, which was first reported by the conservative website shortly before election day 2012. Well, Senator, it´s not as if the Justice Department isn´t already covered up in investigations. I´m not sure they´ll have room for yours when there are illegals to protect and an IRS to indemnify, while hunting in every city for some white guy frowning at any group of minorities standing on any street corner.

I agree with the esteemed senator. Why CAN´T a man mentor and ´minister´ to a few fallen women south of the border? And give them a few bucks to help lift them out of poverty? Bubba would do it!

I find it impossible to believe - - that even the lowest, most desperate prostitute would cavort with Pumpkinhead Menendez - - for any amount of money.

So - - yes - - I agree - - the story is bogus.

Eric Holder’s office is a civil-rights shrine. At the Department of Justice building, in Washington, he conducts meetings in a vast conference room, where he sits beneath a portrait of Robert F. Kennedy, one of his predecessors as Attorney General, who used the sprawling space as his office. According to Justice Department lore, Kennedy placed his desk in this room because J. Edgar Hoover presided in a similarly sized chamber on the other side of the fifth floor. Holder put his desk in a modest room in the corner of the building, where the place of honor belongs to a

5 Big Challenges for Sylvia

Sylvia Burwell, the new head of the Department of Health and Human Services, has managed to navigate her first 100 days in office without eliciting much attention from the media – or lawmakers. While that’s a victory of sorts for the top official of such a complex federal agency, Burwell still faces plenty of challenges. As Obamacare’s second open enrollment period approaches, millions of people have gained insurance through the health exchanges as well as through Medicaid expansion. Burwell needs to ensure this enrollment period goes far more smoothly than last year’s did when technical glitches and cancelled insurance policies were

Our Intelligence Director Dismissed ISIS:

It is baffling how James Clapper still has a job. In an interview with The Washington Post’s David Ignatius on Wednesday, the Director of National Intelligence admitted that he had completely underestimated ISIS. He didn´t anticipate how fast the Iraqi Army would fall apart, nor the “will to fight” among Islamic State troops. “I didn’t,” he somewhat lamely added, “see that.” By now, most Americans realize ISIS caught the intelligence community by surprise. Clapper and his spies also thought that the Russians wouldn’t openly invade Ukraine, which maybe they actually got right, depending on how “openly” we would say the

President Obama has written five letters to Congress informing lawmakers of American military actions against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. The first four relied entirely on the president´s constitutional authority to conduct foreign policy and command U.S. military forces. In his latest letter Tuesday, however, Obama cited two additional authorities: the authorizations Congress gave George W. Bush to use military force, first after the September 11 attacks and later for the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Obama, of course, was a fierce critic of the Iraq war and has actually advocated repeal of the Iraq authorization — before he

In mid-September, some Washington Redskins fans agreed to go on "The Daily Show" to defend the team’s name. In the course of negotiating their appearance, the fans asked whether they would be confronted by American Indians on the show. The producers said no, and then surprise! They were ambushed by irate American Indian activists. Before we go any further, I´m in favor of changing the team’s name. I don’t want to get into a tired debate; my general position on such matters is that whatever its history, "Redskins" is now viewed as an epithet, and ladies and gentlemen do not use

WASHINGTON — An Al-Qaeda-connected group that the Obama administration has targeted with airstrikes alongside ISIS was almost totally unknown to the American public until the U.S. started bombing them, though sources say the group has been known to the administration and to Congress for some time. The U.S. claims that Khorasan, an Al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group said to be led by an operative named Muhsin al-Fadhli, was a direct threat to the U.S homeland. Little is known about al-Fadhli, though the Department of State says he was based in Iran. But hardly any public information was available about the group before

Persuasion used to matter in politics. A good politician was someone with the inclination — and the skill — to convince people who weren’t among his supporters to endorse his preferred policy or legislation. There are many ways to accomplish this. Lyndon Johnson operated at the retail level, so to speak. Johnson was a master at twisting arms in the Senate, and cajoling members on both sides of the aisle into forming a coalition to pass whatever legislation he wanted. In contrast, Ronald Reagan worked wholesale. He had a genius for convincing millions of voters he was right and — through

President Obama has declared his strategy is to “degrade and defeat” ISIS. Yet he’s hoping to do so by relying on a plan that is ludicrously insufficient. It’s worth noting that the criticism of his approach isn’t being led by Republicans as much as by U.S. military leaders (as this Washington Post story makes clear), by retired generals, and by former Obama defense secretaries like Leon Panetta and Robert Gates. Secretary Panetta told CBS News that ISIS emerged as a threat because the United States pulled out of Iraq too soon and became involved in Syria too late, while Secretary

An exodus of top-level officials from the Department of Homeland Security is undercutting the agency’s ability to stay ahead of a range of emerging threats, including potential terrorist strikes and cyberattacks, according to interviews with current and former officials. Over the past four years, employees have left DHS at a rate nearly twice as fast as in the federal government overall, and the trend is accelerating, according to a review of a federal database. The departures are a result of what employees widely describe as a dysfunctional work environment, abysmal morale, and the lure of private security companies paying top dollar

President Barack Obama saluted a pair of United States Marines on Tuesday while holding what appeared to be a styrofoam cup in his saluting hand, a breach of military regulations that won´t win him fans among veterans and servicemen. Obama is known for drinking tea, not coffee, when he travels, especially before delivering speeches. On Tuesday, shortly after announcing to the American public that the United States was now bombing ISIS in Syria, the President of the United States flew to New York to address the United Nations – on climate change. His speech mixed high-flown sentiment with apologies for America, and pledged American sacrifice in the name of a lofty goal without evidence that such sacrifice would in any way contribute to attaining that goal. In other words, it was a typical Barack Obama whirligig. Even as American warplanes struck targets in Syria, even as regimes tottered in Jordan and Iraq and Yemen,

So this video of The View’s women grappling with the Obama administration’s response to ISIS terrorism is noteworthy. I want to highlight O’Donnell’s contribution near the end: We are bombing Syria because Syria has so much oil, so there is a “financial incentive.” What the Hell is this supposed to mean?
