Dinesh D’Souza book
yanked from Costco shelves

Washington Times, by Cheryl K. Chumley

Original Article

Costco has suddenly — and according to author Dinesh D’Souza, inexplicably —booted his book from stores nationwide, ordering chain operators to clear their shelves of “America: Imagine a World Without Her” by July 15. Mr. D’Souza said roughly 3,600 copies of his newest release has sold at Costco already, but he has no idea why the chain refuses to sell more. “We’re in the process of finding out what’s happening,” he told WND. “I look forward to getting to the bottom of this and continuing the strong relationship my publisher and I have always had with Costco and their millions

This sounds like a refusal to sell which smells like the work of Her Thighness. Is she jealous that Dinesh is selling more books.

Well, wait a minute. This story is based on the WND story, which may or may nor be accurate. There isn´t any additional information yet.

I don´t shop at Costco, so I don´t have to boycott it. It´s true they´re a huge contributor to the Democratic Party.

The founder of Costco is a huge obama supporter and donor and fundraiser for him. That´s the answer why the book are being pulled.

The link below gives information that Cosco addressed this on Facebook. They said it was removed because it didn´t meet the "necessary thresholds" to continue to stock the book.

There were TWO rows of Hillary´s book (which isn´t selling at all). As usual, I took some other books and covered Hildabeast´s book and hideous mug...

There isn´t any comment from Costco itself about this matter on their Facebook page, at least none that I can find. They ARE getting criticism from the public about the WND article. But they haven´t responded to it, and they haven´t clarified the issue from their end.

If they were going to yank the book, they wouldn´t let it sit on the shelves till July 15.

Costco carries relatively few books, and the ones it does carry, it doesn´t keep on display for long, so as to make way for new stock. If they´re de-listing the book on July 15, it´s to make way for something new.

If this is true, get out there and picket or YOU are part of the problem! Here are some suggestions for signs:
Hillary Rodham Clinton: “I´m sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you´re not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we´re Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration.” Why has Costco REMOVED D´Souza´s book AMERICA?
"I like to read differing viewpoints. Don´t YOU?"
or the best one of all, suggested by an LDotter on another thread:
"D-Souza´s AMERICA available at Sam´s Club"
Probably it´s a good idea to stay on public property, adjacent to the store or parking lot.

If the book was released June 2, and Costco chain-wide has only sold 3600 copies, it might indeed be strictly a marketing decision. I´m going to believe that, because I´ve seen numerous other "conservative" titles being sold at Costco over the years.

(I´m a Costco member and made an inquiry several years back when it was reported that "Costco" was donating to the Obama campaign. They sent back a reply - one of the founders of the company is very involved in Democratic politics, and he was donating out of his own pocket, it was not a corporate thing. Perhaps they were just trying to assuage me.)

Well, judging from many of the replies, it is true. Thresholds? You mean like how miserably Hitlary´s book is doing? Yet, it still fills two rows according to one shopper.

That´s fine. Like was said above, Costco can play politics, but so can I. Neither myself nor my money will darken their doorways again. They made it clear where they stand. So shall I.

When will businesses learn to stay out of politics? Actions have consquences. Just ask Chik Fil-et.

Whoever made this "marketing decision" picked a poor time in America´s history to get a wild hair.

Hopefully, they will feel it where it counts. In the money bags.

They also carried that nasty Fifty Shades of Grey book, too, but they gave that plenty of space despite it looking as if nobody was buying--the piles just sat there for weeks.

The book only sold (on averaqe) five copies per store over the course of five weeks. (There are 640 Costco outlets; divide that into 3600 copies.) It´s not worth it to Costco to keep it on the tables. They´re still selling Rush Limbaugh´s book.

It was a marketing decision on the store´s part--if it´s actually happened. But D´Souza is very, very shrewd to try to turn it into a conspiracy. The publicity will boost sales elsewhere.

A recent fight between Rosie O´Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg has producers at The View looking to add a cool-down room for the ladies. After being cut off by Goldberg during an episode last week so the show could go to commercial, O´Donnell began to express how upset she was and, after being told repeatedly by Goldberg it was not the right time to have that discussion, eventually got cursed out by the Oscar winner. Goldberg told O´Donnell, ´F*** it, I told you to leave it alone and you just don´t want to listen. If you want to go there Rosie,

A presidential defeat isn’t an easy thing to bounce back from. And Mitt Romney did it twice. So it was understandable that after he lost the presidential race in 2012, he was adamant about closing the door to the possibility of a third campaign. But recently, speculation is whirling that Romney may not be so adamant anymore. When asked if he was running in a New York Times interview published earlier this week, Romney said : “I have nothing to add to the story. We’ve got a lot of people looking at the race,” he said. “We’ll see what happens.” That response, which

Meghan McCain joined the dog pile on the Secret Service this week, saying she’s had “nothing but horrible experiences" with the agency and likening the agents to “glorified mall cops.” The 29-year-old author and television personality, who is also the daughter of former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), opened up on Pivot’s “TakePart Live” about some of her interactions with the Secret Service. "I have nothing but horrible experiences with the Secret Service,” McCain said. “One of my friends called them glorified mall cops and I don´t think that´s terribly far off. I found them cliquey. I hated

WASHINGTON — Representative Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland was at the grocery store the other day when he ran into an elderly black woman who expressed growing concern about President Obama’s safety. Why, she asked, wasn’t he being better protected by his Secret Service agents? The furor that led to this week’s resignation of the director of the Secret Service resonated deeply among blacks, outraged that those supposed to be guarding the first black president were somehow falling down on the job — and suspicious even without evidence that it may be deliberate. “It is something that is widespread in

On Wednesday, the ex-CNN talk show host wrote his first story as editor-at-large for the Daily Mail. While the content is vicious, angry and sure to tickle conservative journalists and pols, the writing is colorful, even entertaining.“A slapdash Secret Service detail isn’t what’s wrong with the White House — the real scandal is a President who is so complacent about protecting Americans,” the headline blares. Piers predicts that now that President Obama went on “60 Minutes” and distanced himself from U.S. national intelligence agencies on the rapid spread of ISIS, he’s guaranteed himself leaks to the media for the remainder of his
