Missile shrapnel hits cruse
ship off Israeli coast

Telegraph [UK], by Teresa Machan

Original Article

Posted By:Attercliffe, 7/8/2014 8:34:28 AM

Shrapnel from rockets landed on the deck of a German cruise ship as it left the Israeli port of Ashdod. German news sources said the 2,000-plus passenger ship AIDAdiva (a German arm of the Costa Cruises brand owned by Carnival Corporation) was leaving the Israeli Mediterranean port at around 8.30pm yesterday when sirens began to sound, warning Israeli cities of attacks. Explosions in Ashdod, Israel’s fifth largest city, could be seen from the ship, AIDAdiva. Guests on board were immediately informed by the ship’s officers, according to a press statement released by AIDA Cruises last night.

Comments:
Rather unreasonable and unrestrained activity on the part of the Palestinians.

P.S. Misspelling of "cruise" is T´s error.

I am surprised Germans want to visit the bloodthirsty and oppressive Zionists. Maybe they are there to join the peace-loving Palestinians and give
them technical advice on firing the rockets.

President Barack Obama is preparing to ask Congress to pay for a multibillion-dollar plan to expand the military campaign against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) militants, an unnamed administration official told the Wall Street Journal / Live Mint website. While the proposal hasn’t been made final and the total amount is still being calculated, it will likely be “in the billions of dollars,” reports the site, as Pentagon officials develop options for the president. Obama is scheduled to deliver a televised address to the nation at 9 p.m. Washington time on Wednesday to lay out his strategy to defeat the

US Secretary of State John Kerry has met the new Iraqi PM at the start of a Middle East tour to build support for action against Islamic State (IS). Haidar al-Abadi formed a unity government less than 48 hours ago. An inclusive government was a condition for greater US and Nato support in the fight against IS militants who have taken over large parts of the country. [Snip] He said on Tuesday that he had authority to widen military action against IS without the approval of Congress, but said he would still ask lawmakers to endorse the arming of Syrian opposition forces.

WASHINGTON--US President Barack Obama will tell the American people on Wednesday night that he plans to order strikes against Islamic State forces in both Syria and Iraq until the group is ultimately destroyed. The president´s plan includes additional support for opposition militias in Syria vetted by the United States, which will serve as a ground force complementing America´s air campaign. [Snip] The "comprehensive strategy," as described by one White House official, will involve "US military action and support for the forces combating ISIL [Islamic State] on the ground–both the opposition in Syria and a new, inclusive Iraqi government."

Israel on Wednesday hailed US efforts to form an alliance to fight jihadists in Syria and Iraq but raised concerns of a rapprochement between Washington and Israel´s arch-foe Iran. [Snip] His remarks came as US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Baghdad on an unannounced visit at the start of a Middle East tour aimed at building a regional coalition to combat the extremist Sunni militants who have taken over swathes of territory either side of the Syria-Iraq border. Tonight, exactly one year after Barack Obama strode to a microphone in the East Room of the White House to make a prime-time televised address to the nation on "what to do about Syria", the US president is preparing once again to do…just that. Even by the tortured standards of Mr Obama, the 2013 address was a truly dismal affair in which the President could be heard arguing with himself over his own non-response to the Assad regime´s use of chemical weapons. Tonight, I want to talk to you about the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, also known as Isil, Isis, and the Islamic State. Forget Scottish nationalism. This isn´t about historic national identity anymore (if it ever was): it´s about historic Labour ideology. [Snip] It will not require separate statehood to "protect" the Scottish health system from being denationalised by Whitehall, because Whitehall has no such power. The "Save Our NHS" slogan has nothing to do with Scottish independence. It is a trade union mantra.
