Obama praises Abbas, but not

President Barack Obama offered strong praise for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in an opinion piece published Tuesday in an Israeli newspaper, but had little to say about the other key player in the crisis, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "In President Abbas, Israel has a counterpart committed to a two-state solution and security cooperation with Israel," Obama wrote in the daily Haaretz. The president offered no parallel praise for Netanyahu, who is only mentioned by name once in the piece. Obama´s comments, published in Hebrew, Arabic and English, were his first public comments on Middle Eastern affairs since the murder of three

Is there anything that Obama is right about? The Isra]ies have said that the murder, in a heinous way, was wrong and are searching for the culprits. That is more than Abbas has ever done. How many years does Obama want them to turn the other cheek? Palestinians and other Muslems are making war inevitable. As I keep saying, they have never stopped until they get a good thrashing. George W. Bush had the right idea. America, on a big base in Iraq, able to move in any direction, keeping the peace. Too few of our voters did not see his vision and, of course, the Democrats could not let a Republican be successfulno matter the cost to the world and especially the Middle East.

Unaccompanied illegal immigrant children with communicable diseases have given or exposed federal agents to lice, scabies, tuberculosis and chicken pox, according to a report issued Thursday by the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General. In two cases, the children of a border patrol agent got chicken pox contracted from their parents’ exposure to unaccompanied children with chicken pox, according to the report on conditions of detention centers and border facilities. The report, the first in a series, is based on 87 unannounced visits to 63 detention centers being used to house unaccompanied alien children (UAC) in Texas, Arizona and California

WASHINGTON — The chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee said Thursday that the likelihood Republicans win back the Senate is better today than when he assumed leadership in 2012. During a luncheon with reporters, Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said: “Back in the very beginning, I would’ve told you we had six good candidates in six states.” Now, Moran said, the number of races where Republicans could pick up seats from Democrats has expanded to somewhere in the range of 12 to 14 states. It´s the Joe Biden you didn’t know — and might not want to see. Secret Service agents dread being assigned to protect the vice president, in part because Biden’s a big fan of skinny dipping, according to a new tell-all book. In “The First Family Detail,” author Robert Kessler quotes unnamed Secret Service agents dishing about the supposedly “hidden lives” of Presidents and the other important people they protect. Biden is portrayed as being more interested in coming off as a “regular Joe” than being potentially responsible for the nation’s nuclear codes. Concurrent with Cuomo’s Monday defense, some commission members publicly said there was no interference. Cuomo repeatedly cited some of these statements. Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Wednesday criticized an American “policy of calculated ambivalence” toward Israel, a nod toward conservative voters as he considers a second run for president. The retiring Republican governor spoke at a pro-Israel rally outside Dallas’ city hall. Perry mostly refrained from attacking American policy in a five-minute speech, but said America must continue to wholeheartedly support Israel and that Israel was justified in defending itself. Several hundred people at the rally waved white-and-blue flags and cheered as he spoke. “America must be clear: Israel has the right to exist as a Jewish state,” Perry said, his
