Our Roost, Obama’s Chickens
National Review Online, by Victor Davis Hanson

Original Article

Often, crazy things seem normal for a time because logical catastrophes do not immediately follow. A deeply suspicious Richard Nixon systematically and without pushback for years undermined and politicized almost every institution of the federal government, from the CIA and the FBI to the IRS and the attorney general’s office. Nixon seemed to get away with it — until his second term. Once the public woke up, however, the eventual accounting proved devastating: resignation of a sitting president, prison sentences for his top aides, collapse of the Republican party, government stasis, a ruined economy, the destruction of the Vietnam peace accords

Think of the fact that Obama destroyed your healthcare then infects us with illegals who WILL INFECT us with various infestations and infections. Think of the fact that Obama is also sending them all over the country as well. Think of it...why would they do this and why this way? You couldn´t ask for a stronger enemy of USA than Obama and his administration. But alas, YOU VOTED for it. Enjoy.

"Obama’s economic legacy is rarely appreciated. He has institutionalized the idea that unemployment between 6 and 7 percent is normal, that annual deficits over $500 billion reflect frugality, that soaring power, food, and fuel costs are not proof of inflation, that zero interest rates are the reward for thrift, that higher taxes are always a beginning, never an end, and that there is no contradiction when elite progressives — the Obamas, the Clintons, the Warrens — trash the 1-percenters, while doing everything in their power to live just like them."

Another superb article by VDH. Well worth reading and forwarding,

I agree #2. It is a very informative article but tells us nothing that we here did not already know. Clearly, Mr. Hanson is an extremely intelligent man who understands exactly what Obama has wrought and the consequences of his actions. My question is, what do we do about it? It seems that most of the Republicans in Congress should be forced to read this article because they certainly have shown little urgency as Obama drives the country over the cliff.

Obama is a real and present danger to this constitutional republic and it appears our side offers no solution to this serious threat. When will our side take the fight to the media? The people in Murrietta, California should be their inspiration. It is time to go on the offense. Cowering in a corner just enables Obama to continue to bully people into silence. The Republicans should ditch their political consultants and do what is right for this country. They need to speak the truth, quit worrying about political fallout and tell the media enough is enough. Obama will not change course willingly. He will have to be forced to. Changing the tide of public opinion can make that happen. Republicans need to wake up, go on the offense, and lead the way.

Waiting for Obie´s chickens to come home to roast is in line with waiting for a late night knock on the door. "You will have to come with us...no need to pack a bag."

I want to shout somebody do something...this can´t be happening ! But most people seem in a daze...in a way it is like nothing is happening. If you don´t discuss it, it will be ok.

We must pray for God to intervene and send us real leaders. We must stand up against the tyrants. The people on the border have the right spirit...standing up against the government goons. If God is far us, who can be against us ?

Mr. Hanson, lots of people have been aware from the beginning what was going to happen, and they know what nefarious things have been wrought upon them. Do not judge the people by the news oppressing Democrat media. That media does not reflect what people know.

A mostly chronological rehash of the offenses against the people of the US and of the world who had grown to trust, at least a little bit, the president.
One point of contention though is he kept saying few noticed. Well, not enough noticed, but a lot of us did notice, but not enough listened because they were charmed.

U.S. military engagement on Islamic State may alter the political calculus for this year’s midterms, but the potential impacts may reach beyond the next few months and into 2016, thanks to a shift among tea party supporters. In September 2013, 64% of tea party supporters said they believed taking military action against “the Syrian government” was not in the national interest. In this latest survey, 68% of tea party supporters said they believe talking military action against “ISIS in Iraq and Syria” is in the national interest. That shift is much bigger than the change among the county as a whole. In 2013, 47% of Americans said they

There is an old story, probably apocryphal, about a meeting of the Southern Historical Society in the years after the Civil War. The topic was Gettysburg — what mistakes, large or small, did the Confederates make that led to the Southern defeat? The debate was heated and furious. Tempers were at the boiling point. Finally, one of the participants turned to George Pickett of “Pickett’s Charge” fame. “George,” he said, “you were there. Why did we lose the battle?” to which Pickett replied, “I always thought the Yankees had something to do with it.” This anecdote reflects a historiographical debate about the Civil War in general.

Senate Democrats who are anxious about their re-election prospects in November are puzzled that Sen. Thomas R. His Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will hold a hearing Monday on his bill to add two members to the Senate and a voting member of to the House. It’s understandable that the Democrats want to add to their membership, since the District, the Valhalla of the bureaucracy, will be in Democratic hands approximately forever. But Vincent C. By now, the video’s gone viral: Sen. Ted Cruz walking off the stage after being booed for speaking in support of Israel at a Washington summit dedicated to the defense of the Middle East’s persecuted Christian minorities. On just about every level, the episode is sad, especially if it’s used to sharpen divisions among people who have much to gain from coming together. In fact, the whole aim of In Defense of Christians — host of the conference where Cruz spoke — is to unite the disparate Mideast religious communities in solidarity with the Christian victims of Islamist extremism. That’s no easy task. Cruz was asked to

At a Labor Day rally in Milwaukee, President Obama turned the limelight on himself, approvingly and inaccurately. “By almost every measure,” he declared, “the American economy and the American workers are better off than when I took office.” In contrast to Mr. Obama’s self-congratulatory assertion, the Census Bureau reports that median household income in the United States, adjusted for inflation, is down by more than $2,000 since Obama’s first inauguration in January 2009. Additionally, as an indicator of the economic downturn, a sixth of the U.S. population is currently receiving food stamps, an increase in the

Austin - A dispute over Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis´ book tour intensified Thursday as her Republican opponent, Greg Abbott, accused her in a formal complaint of violating state election laws. In a filing with the Texas Ethics Commission, Abbott campaign manager Wayne Hamilton alleges that Davis, a state senator from Fort Worth, "converted political contributions to her personal use" in violation of state law. The state ethics commission investigates alleged ethics violations by officeholders and candidates, and can levy fines or refer charges against violators if complaints are validated.

Supporters of President Barack Obama, such as one of his campaign donors Robert Deitrick, an Ohio financial advisor often quoted in Forbes and elsewhere, insist that the Obama economy has been much more robust than Ronald Reagan’s. Are they right? Let’s look at some numbers. President Reagan entered office in a period of high inflation which was stamped out by high interest rates that in turn led to the 1982 recession. His job-creation record after that may fairly be termed outstanding: nearly 20 million more Americans were employed when he left office than when the recession ended. Qua speech, Barack Obama’s address Wednesday on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was surprisingly terrible: a disorganized mess, insincere and unconvincing. To appreciate just how bad and bizarre it was, compare the president’s speech announcing a new air campaign in Iraq and Syria to Dwight Eisenhower’s 1958 statement on his decision to intervene in Lebanon with 14,000—14,000!—troops. The statement contains no chest-thumping about America’s leadership in science and medicine. No pivot to the auto industry and medical research. Eisenhower simply explained what had been done, and why.

Check your hygiene privilege. Cabbies who smell badly are probably just oppressed folks who came directly from their terrorist training camp to the airport and didn’t have time to change. Body odour is among 52 criteria that officials at San Diego International Airport use to judge taxi drivers. Cabbies say that smacks of prejudice and discrimination. It does discriminate between cabbies who smell like an open sewer and those who don’t. It further prejudges what a good smell is.
