Our Roost, Obama’s Chickens
National Review Online, by Victor Davis Hanson

Original Article

Often, crazy things seem normal for a time because logical catastrophes do not immediately follow. A deeply suspicious Richard Nixon systematically and without pushback for years undermined and politicized almost every institution of the federal government, from the CIA and the FBI to the IRS and the attorney general’s office. Nixon seemed to get away with it — until his second term. Once the public woke up, however, the eventual accounting proved devastating: resignation of a sitting president, prison sentences for his top aides, collapse of the Republican party, government stasis, a ruined economy, the destruction of the Vietnam peace accords

Think of the fact that Obama destroyed your healthcare then infects us with illegals who WILL INFECT us with various infestations and infections. Think of the fact that Obama is also sending them all over the country as well. Think of it...why would they do this and why this way? You couldn´t ask for a stronger enemy of USA than Obama and his administration. But alas, YOU VOTED for it. Enjoy.

"Obama’s economic legacy is rarely appreciated. He has institutionalized the idea that unemployment between 6 and 7 percent is normal, that annual deficits over $500 billion reflect frugality, that soaring power, food, and fuel costs are not proof of inflation, that zero interest rates are the reward for thrift, that higher taxes are always a beginning, never an end, and that there is no contradiction when elite progressives — the Obamas, the Clintons, the Warrens — trash the 1-percenters, while doing everything in their power to live just like them."

Another superb article by VDH. Well worth reading and forwarding,

I agree #2. It is a very informative article but tells us nothing that we here did not already know. Clearly, Mr. Hanson is an extremely intelligent man who understands exactly what Obama has wrought and the consequences of his actions. My question is, what do we do about it? It seems that most of the Republicans in Congress should be forced to read this article because they certainly have shown little urgency as Obama drives the country over the cliff.

Obama is a real and present danger to this constitutional republic and it appears our side offers no solution to this serious threat. When will our side take the fight to the media? The people in Murrietta, California should be their inspiration. It is time to go on the offense. Cowering in a corner just enables Obama to continue to bully people into silence. The Republicans should ditch their political consultants and do what is right for this country. They need to speak the truth, quit worrying about political fallout and tell the media enough is enough. Obama will not change course willingly. He will have to be forced to. Changing the tide of public opinion can make that happen. Republicans need to wake up, go on the offense, and lead the way.

Waiting for Obie´s chickens to come home to roast is in line with waiting for a late night knock on the door. "You will have to come with us...no need to pack a bag."

I want to shout somebody do something...this can´t be happening ! But most people seem in a daze...in a way it is like nothing is happening. If you don´t discuss it, it will be ok.

We must pray for God to intervene and send us real leaders. We must stand up against the tyrants. The people on the border have the right spirit...standing up against the government goons. If God is far us, who can be against us ?

Mr. Hanson, lots of people have been aware from the beginning what was going to happen, and they know what nefarious things have been wrought upon them. Do not judge the people by the news oppressing Democrat media. That media does not reflect what people know.

A mostly chronological rehash of the offenses against the people of the US and of the world who had grown to trust, at least a little bit, the president.
One point of contention though is he kept saying few noticed. Well, not enough noticed, but a lot of us did notice, but not enough listened because they were charmed.

One of the ongoing debates about policy formation in Washington which has become far more prominent since the passage of Obamacare is the role of the Congressional Budget Office, and the weight given its estimates and predictions for the ramifications of legislation. CBO has always been at the center of a debate about how much we should trust these estimates and how much legislators should rely on them in crafting policy. The larger the legislation, the more moving parts it has, the more difficult it is to calculate the fiscal and economy-wide impacts. In the case of Obamacare, the sheer largeness

In the wake of NFL star Ray Rice’s measly two-game suspension for assaulting his fiancée, embarrassing ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith went nuts, warning about the dangers of women ‘provoking’ men. But this behavior is nothing new for the network’s commentators. Late Thursday night, ESPN’s Keith Olbermann—as is his wont—went off-script. He took a break from his usual pugnacious pontificating to show the 45-second viral video of Ray Rice, the star running back of the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens, hauling his unconscious then-fiancée, Janay Palmer, out of an elevator at a casino in Atlantic City. How will President Obama feel when a Republican wins the governor’s race in his home state of Illinois? Gov. Pat Quinn is facing an increasingly uphill battle against Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner, a new We Ask America poll shows. Rauner is now sitting on a 14-point lead in the poll that was conducted July 28, which is up from his 10-point lead he had in a June poll. Rauner’s boost can be attributed to his economic plan, which includes a state income tax reduction. A poll showed while people don’t believe Illinois can afford this plan, a majority say

John Kerry fought in Vietnam, threw his medals away, served decades in the Senate, ran for president, did some windsurfing and then became secretary of state of the most powerful country on earth. He’s a big boy. But there are those who seem to feel otherwise, that Kerry is a fragile and tender reed in need of delicate care — people who work for and with him. Not to mention Kerry himself. Over the course of the past year, on several occasions, Kerry and other staffers have taken to whining — not sure there’s a nicer word — over how unfairly he’s

President Obama demanded that Israel agree to a one-sided cease-fire during a heated phone conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to a report aired on Israeli TV Tuesday. Both leaders quickly denounced the purported transcript of their private discussion as fake. But the TV channel that obtained it, state-run Channel 1, stood by its account. In one bitter exchange, Obama declared that Qatar and Turkey — Hamas’ biggest international supporters — would mediate with the terrorists on Israel’s behalf, according to the TV channel. “I trust Qatar and Turkey. Let’s concede for a moment that most of us don’t believe the United States should be taking sides in conflicts abroad. Even so, most Americans would probably agree that at a minimum our diplomatic efforts should not cause unnecessary harm. Which brings me to Secretary of State John Kerry’s recent misadventure in the Middle East. It seems like a rather big deal that Egypt, Israel, Fatah, Jordan, Saudi Arabia—ostensibly, all allies of ours—agree on anything. This development, one imagines, might be something the United States would be interested in fostering rather than destroying. Certainly, the idea that Hamas’ power should be

Quite unlike six years ago, President Barack Obama has become a liability for his fellow Democrats running for federal office. Surveys have consistently shown that the GOP is well positioned to take back at least three of the six seats they need to regain control over the Senate and reduce Obama’s final two years in office to a series of vetoes. In another five seats, Republican candidates remain competitive. The president is no longer energizing his unique coalition of voters. This year, they are staying home. But if reports about the nature of the executive action he is contemplating are right, it would be by far the most blatant and explosive provocation in the administration’s assault on the separation of powers, and could well be the most extreme act of executive overreach ever attempted by an American president in peacetime. You can understand President Obama´s current political problems -- and how those problems could make things very tough for his party in this fall´s midterm election -- in a single word. And that word is "competence". Obama was elected in 2008 on a stated promise that he would restore competence to government. He pitched himself as the antidote to "Heck of a job, Brownie" and the Bush years, the person who would always put the most qualified candidate in every job in his Administration. That the basic functioning of government would never be in question. Almost six years on from
