Our Roost, Obama’s Chickens
National Review Online, by Victor Davis Hanson

Original Article

Often, crazy things seem normal for a time because logical catastrophes do not immediately follow. A deeply suspicious Richard Nixon systematically and without pushback for years undermined and politicized almost every institution of the federal government, from the CIA and the FBI to the IRS and the attorney general’s office. Nixon seemed to get away with it — until his second term. Once the public woke up, however, the eventual accounting proved devastating: resignation of a sitting president, prison sentences for his top aides, collapse of the Republican party, government stasis, a ruined economy, the destruction of the Vietnam peace accords

Think of the fact that Obama destroyed your healthcare then infects us with illegals who WILL INFECT us with various infestations and infections. Think of the fact that Obama is also sending them all over the country as well. Think of it...why would they do this and why this way? You couldn´t ask for a stronger enemy of USA than Obama and his administration. But alas, YOU VOTED for it. Enjoy.

"Obama’s economic legacy is rarely appreciated. He has institutionalized the idea that unemployment between 6 and 7 percent is normal, that annual deficits over $500 billion reflect frugality, that soaring power, food, and fuel costs are not proof of inflation, that zero interest rates are the reward for thrift, that higher taxes are always a beginning, never an end, and that there is no contradiction when elite progressives — the Obamas, the Clintons, the Warrens — trash the 1-percenters, while doing everything in their power to live just like them."

Another superb article by VDH. Well worth reading and forwarding,

I agree #2. It is a very informative article but tells us nothing that we here did not already know. Clearly, Mr. Hanson is an extremely intelligent man who understands exactly what Obama has wrought and the consequences of his actions. My question is, what do we do about it? It seems that most of the Republicans in Congress should be forced to read this article because they certainly have shown little urgency as Obama drives the country over the cliff.

Obama is a real and present danger to this constitutional republic and it appears our side offers no solution to this serious threat. When will our side take the fight to the media? The people in Murrietta, California should be their inspiration. It is time to go on the offense. Cowering in a corner just enables Obama to continue to bully people into silence. The Republicans should ditch their political consultants and do what is right for this country. They need to speak the truth, quit worrying about political fallout and tell the media enough is enough. Obama will not change course willingly. He will have to be forced to. Changing the tide of public opinion can make that happen. Republicans need to wake up, go on the offense, and lead the way.

Waiting for Obie´s chickens to come home to roast is in line with waiting for a late night knock on the door. "You will have to come with us...no need to pack a bag."

I want to shout somebody do something...this can´t be happening ! But most people seem in a daze...in a way it is like nothing is happening. If you don´t discuss it, it will be ok.

We must pray for God to intervene and send us real leaders. We must stand up against the tyrants. The people on the border have the right spirit...standing up against the government goons. If God is far us, who can be against us ?

Mr. Hanson, lots of people have been aware from the beginning what was going to happen, and they know what nefarious things have been wrought upon them. Do not judge the people by the news oppressing Democrat media. That media does not reflect what people know.

A mostly chronological rehash of the offenses against the people of the US and of the world who had grown to trust, at least a little bit, the president.
One point of contention though is he kept saying few noticed. Well, not enough noticed, but a lot of us did notice, but not enough listened because they were charmed.

ADA, Okla.—This city´s police chief last year made what would become a very popular decision, assigning a rookie to traffic duty even though the new officer was known to be heartless. Since the greenhorn´s patrol car began appearing in neighborhoods where people had complained about speeding drivers, he has become so beloved that townspeople are buying him doughnuts, praising him on Facebook and working his name into sermons. The officer proved better suited to the task of deterring speeders than experienced cops, says Police Chief Mike Miller, because of a compelling attribute: He´s a dummy. Many mornings, just before 7 a.m., a large tanker truck pulls up to the grand gates of Oprah Winfrey’s 40-acre estate in Montecito, California. Inside is neither merchandise nor produce – just water. A year ago, Oprah’s annual bill from the Montecito Water District was just shy of $125,000. This year, it is less than half. Like many in this wealthy enclave, Oprah has cut back on her consumption of district water. That said, her property has its own wells and a small lake and, according to neighbors, there are the trucks. These days, tankers can be seen barreling down Montecito’s narrow

“About half the practice of a decent lawyer consists in telling would-be clients that they are damned fools and should stop.” So supposedly said Elihu Root, New York lawyer and secretary of war and of state, and U.S. senator from 1909 to 1915. Today it seems that many liberal “would-be clients” are in desperate need of what Root called “a decent lawyer.” Take Texans for Public Justice, the so-called public interest group that has been pushing for the indictment of Gov. Rick Perry by a grand jury at the urging of special prosecutor Michael McCrum. The basis for the indictment is, in the

Despite enduring thousands of Hamas rockets in the past ten weeks, the whole of Israel is far safer now than it was a decade ago, and safer than many American cities. Indeed, two initiatives long favored by American conservatives, namely missile defense and a border fence, have made the current unpleasantness with Hamas little more than an unfortunate distraction from the true existential threat, which is Iranian nukes. Since the Hamas attacks began June 13, the rockets from Gaza have killed seven people in all of Israel while wounding only a few dozen more. An August 19–20 tour of both the

The brutal video depicting the beheading of American journalist James Foley shocked the world but some experts are now finding evidence that it could have been staged. A forensic analysis commissioned by The UK Times found many irregularities in the video — making it appear to not be the actual execution of the doomed freelancer. The analysis concluded that Foley was beheaded, but it possibly did not occur on camera. “I think it has been staged,” one visual forensics expert said in The Times report. “My feeling is that the execution may have happened after the camera was stopped.” Two major oddities in

Suddenly, America is sick and tired of Barack Obama. He has become an embarrassment and, worse than that, a threat to the personal security and peace of mind of American citizenry as a whole. It is all too obvious that he is not up to the task of being captain of the ship of state at a time of increasing peril. So what to do about it? Should he be impeached? If so, for what crime? You can’t impeach him for the “crime” of frivolity — or the “crime” of excessive partying at fund-raising junkets with his Hollywood pals during national emergencies. You can’t

The flight test of the Army’s Advanced Hypersonic Weapon will take place as early as Monday from the Kodiak Launch Complex on Kodiak Island, Alaska, said defense officials familiar with test planning. The missile will be boosted to near space on a rocket and then glide to the Reagan Test Site on the South Pacific Kwajalein Atoll at speeds of several thousand miles

Maureen Dowd has given up, judging from her brutal column today, “The Golf Address.” Up at Princeton, Cornel West, always an Obama skeptic (around 2012 he called Obama “Nelson Rockefeller in blackface”), is calling Obama a “counterfeit” Progressive: [T]he thing is he posed as a progressive and turned out to be counterfeit. The National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces is not much on using a soft touch when it comes to diplomatically sensitive matters. At least, that is the impression one gets from reading the latest statement it issued regarding the death of U.S. journalist James Foley. In that statement, a Syrian opposition leader laid the blame for Foley’s death squarely on the shoulders of President Barack Obama. He implied that his administration’s dithering and backtracking in response to the Syrian civil war is to blame for the current circumstances in the Middle East. “Mohammed Qaddah, vice president of the Syrian

There are at least one million jobs that go begging day after day if only employers could find workers to fill them. This probably seems hard-to-believe. After all, how can America have a worker shortage when we have about 18 million Americans who are unemployed or underemployed? When the real unemployment rate is 12 percent? The Wisconsin Republican was addressing a passage from his new book on CBS’s “Face the Nation” in which he described last year’s push toward a government shutdown — in which House conservatives unsuccessfully tried to defund Obamacare — as a “suicide mission.” The purpose of the passage in the book is to try to unify the party, he said, noting that he held back a bit more at the time with party unity in mind. “I don’t think we can succeed if all we do is
