What’s behind Chicago’s carnage
New York Post, by Rich Lowry

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 7/8/2014 4:37:03 AM

For most of the country, July Fourth weekend means hot dogs, fireworks and relaxing time with family. In certain neighborhoods in Chicago, it means something very different. For the second year running, Chicago saw a spate of violence over the long holiday weekend that would generate headlines if it happened in Kabul. “It’s Groundhog Day here in Chicago” is how Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy put it. This year, the tally of shame was more than 80 people shot and 14 killed. Last year, a slightly longer July Fourth weekend (the holiday fell on a Thursday) saw 75 people shot and 12 fatalities.

Not surprisingly...
"Overall, according to Chicago magazine, the rate of nonfatal gunshot injury in Chicago was 46.5 per 100,000 from 2006 to 2012. But it was only 1.62 per 100,000 for whites. For blacks, it was 112.83 per 100,000. For black males, 239.77, and for black males aged 18-34, 599.65, or “a staggering one in 200.”

Is it time for that talk about race yet, Eric Holder?

I read a suggestion on another site that we use our resources to help the refugee children in Chicago, Detroit, and other dangerous area of America instead of importing Central America´s underclass. Makes better sense to me.

Leftists and Democrat policies created Chicago, Detroit and the growing urban AND spreading blight that is turning this country into the dystopia of Mad Max and uncivilized tribalism...race is mainly an issue thanks to LBJ and his so-called "Great Society" and "War on Poverty". The left and Democrats (and other wrongly named "Progressives") purposely targeted the poor and the black community (as well as other people of color) in order to destroy people they consider inferior and undesirable (it is rooted in their belief in eugenics).

Nature vs Nurture. Liberals and progressives like to say there is no morality demanded by a higher power, that all of the civilizing attributes of western civilization are rooted in mans evolutionary need to form a functioning society.

Bollocks, and this city and others prove it. While the racial makeup of this experimental group is markedly African American makes no difference, if the ghetto was entirely populated by Scandinavians and Swiss the result would be the same.

Morality is passed from generation to generation and is re-enforced by social institutions such as the Church and effective government. If you remove the influence of generational teaching and destroy the social institutions as the Great Society did, and then replace them with a corrupt and unintelligible government morality will be set by those who have been disconnected, mostly young often angry, men.

And the morality of a population with no societal norms but strength in numbers will inevitably be violent. We used to have a name for this kind of society.

Barbarians.

That was not a PC response, #7. True but not PC.

I suggest building walls around both Detroit and Chicago and declaring them game preserves or something similar. Bullet-proof viewing windows could be spaced at intervals along the wall and the respective states could charge admission to view the inevitable results of one of our finest social experiments.

In a unique battlefield commendation, a Marine Corps member of Delta Force has been awarded the nation’s second-highest military honor for coming to the defense of Americans last year at a CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya. Delta Force, a counterterrorism unit in the secretive Joint Special Operations Command, has been thought of as a strictly Army outfit. But it does take on qualified commandos from other services. The Washington Times has reported that two Delta Force members were among a seven-person rescue team sent from the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli to Benghazi on the night of Sept. 11, 2012. Their mission:

It was once said, during the time when Maine’s governor’s race was conducted almost two months earlier than the November presidential race, that “as Maine goes, so goes the nation.” Will that be the case this year with North Carolina? There is news this week that Democrats will invest a stunning $9.1 million to back first-term incumbent Senator Kay Hagan in North Carolina. Hagan is being challenged by Republican state House Speaker Thom Tillis. This occurs just after the latest Washington Post Election Lab survey rates Hagan’s chances of re-election at 99%. Clearly, national Democrats don’t see the North Carolina race

SAN FRANCISCO — This town has long prided itself as “The City That Knows How.” Loaded with justifiable conceit, that catchy tribute gained popular traction following the manner and style—emphasis on style—in which the city rebuilt itself following the Great Earthquake and Fire of 1906. Then came Candlestick Park. So much for reputation and cute slogans. Candlestick Park, born in 1960 and scheduled to be executed presently, was an unpleasant, uncomfortable, cold, remote, windblown penitentiary located as far from San Francisco as this city’s mythical 49-square-mile limit permitted. The other version: Candlestick Park was where Willie Mays and Joe Montana turned their sports into

It was the same in Newark, in Chicago, in Detroit, in Los Angeles. No one could have seen this coming. In early August, President Barack Obama revealed that he had approved targeted airstrikes on ISIS targets in Iraq. The strikes were aimed at both halting the Islamic State’s advance on cities like Erbil and Baghdad, where American diplomatic and military assets were stationed, and to relieve the pressure on Iraqi minority groups targeted by ISIS for extermination or displacement. Some military analysts noted, however, that the president will be unable to achieve the objective of eliminating the ISIS threat, rather than simply disrupting the group’s operational tempo, unless he expanded the theater of operations

A Travis County grand jury today indicted Gov. Rick Perry on two charges related to his effort last year to force District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg to resign after her drunken driving arrest. Grand jurors charged Perry, 63, with abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony, and coercion of a public official. The indictments stemmed from Perry’s threat last summer to withhold $7.2 million in state money from Lehmberg’s office unless she step down – a threat he later carried out by vetoing an appropriation in the state budget. The money was earmarked for the state’s Public Integrity Unit, which is housed in Lehmberg’s office. Perry’s veto forced

Police in Ferguson had earlier announced that Brown was suspected of taking cigars from the convenience store in what was described as a "strong-arm robbery." Brown´s family is accusing police of trying to draw attention away from the shooting.
