Boeing fears regulatory wave amid
battle over fish, water pollution

Fox News, by Dan Springer

Aerospace giant Boeing finds itself in a fishy fight against Native Americans and environmentalists over pollution in the waterways -- a disagreement that could affect where Washington state´s largest employer builds the next generation of planes. At the heart of the fight, which could impact thousands of jobs, is a peculiar question: How much locally caught fish do Washingtonians eat, and what are the health risks? Green groups, alone with Washington state tribes, have sued the Environmental Protection Agency to push for increased fish consumption rates -- currently set at six-and-a-half grams a day. If the number is set higher, it would trigger

Comments:
I heard a Boeing spokesman yesterday saying this would require Boeing to meet a standard that doesn´t exist.

Progressivism run amuk. Will cooler/smarter heads prevail? Don´t count on it. Do you know how much weed you could grow on the space currently occupied by the aircraft assembly hangar alone? Like wow, man...

Libtards destroying business everywhere. Funny how when Boeing wanted to build a new plant in NC or SC, the libtard unions filed a lawsuit, isn´t it? Boeing should bite the bullet and move their entire operations out of the country.

They have been moving out of union/liberal nutcase run Washington state for many years. Washington´s anti-business B&O tax has to be a big thorn in their side as well. Their headquarters are in Chicago now.

By now, you’re probably familiar with the fact that some people in the US refuse to vaccinate their children. You are probably also familiar with the raging debate over vaccine refusal and whether parents should suck it up and vaccinate their kids for the sake of herd immunity, the common good, and society. But a recent piece in the Hollywood Reporter by Gary Baum really cuts to the heart of the vaccine refusal issue: It’s a class and privilege problem. The people refusing to vaccinate are primarily wealthy, coming from backgrounds of privilege, following in the footsteps of their wealthy and

The federal government is giving an ObamaCare insurance navigator Seedco, which has a reported history of fraud, $1.4 million to operate in Tennessee this fiscal year. Last year, Seedco received $1.2 million for the same services in Tennessee. As reported, the federal government sued Seedco on the grounds it faked at least 1,400 of 6,500 job placements under a $22.2 million federally funded contract with New York City. Seedco, according to National Review, had to settle that lawsuit. Meanwhile, state Comptroller Justin Wilson reported last year certain Memphis residents participating in the Temporary Assistance For Needy Families program falsified paperwork and wrongly received almost

GOLDEN, Colo. - Hundreds of suburban Denver high school students missed school again Monday as teachers shut down two high schools by calling in sick amid a controversy over proposed changes to an Advanced Placement history class and changes to their pay. Classes were canceled at Golden and Jefferson high schools after 81 percent and 70 percent of teachers called in sick respectively. Some students who had the day off hit the street to protest against a proposal from the board´s new conservative majority to review the history course to make sure it promotes patriotism and doesn´t condone social disorder.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong´s leader said China won´t back down from its decision to limit voting reforms in the Asian financial hub as pro-democracy protesters set a Wednesday deadline for a response from the government to meet their demands. The unequivocal statement from Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying on Tuesday dashed hopes that the standoff between demonstrators and authorities could be resolved quickly through negotiations. It does not come as a surprise given that showing a willingness to talk would have made the Chinese leadership appear weak, which could embolden dissidents, critics and separatists on the mainland. Behind bars in the same jail as the ‘Public Enemy No. 1,’ the Jane Doe seemed to succeed at erasing her fingerprints where Dillinger had failed. But cops still unraveled her baffling story. The cops in Ohio did not know it when they struggled to fingerprint her, but their prisoner would prove to be a mystery woman who would seem to outdo Dillinger. After what one cop called “a heck of a fuss,” they finally managed to print her. They were stunned by the result. “There’s nothing there,” a cop announced. The prisoner had somehow managed to obliterate every identifying swirl on the tips

The investigation has turned up 33 fraudulent applications thus far, ahead of the thousands of pages of documents set to be turned over. The group is run by

Remember the “Mission Accomplished” speech? You know, the one where the president declared the war in Iraq over, only to have to eat his words as he sent the U.S. military to fight terrorists in Iraq who were taking over vast swaths of the country? No, I’m not talking about President George W. Bush’s May 1, 2003, speech aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. I’m talking about President Obama’s speech at the White House on Oct. 21, 2011, in which he boasted about his decision to withdraw all U.S. troops and bring “the long war in Iraq” to an end. BERLIN—There are many subjects of German soul-searching. Among them: Is the country saving too much water? People here are known to flush toilets with old bath water and to take turns bathing in the same tub without refilling it. New German toilets typically use about two gallons of water for a full flush and less than one for water-saving. Conserving water is an expression of personal virtue and social responsibility. But as scholars, utility managers, and municipal officials point out, there is a dark side to the impulse. Sewage stagnates in too-large canals and noxious gas is corroding cement. President Obama said the shooting death of a black teen by a white police officer last month in Ferguson, Missouri, exposed the racial divide in the American justice system that “stains the heart of black children.” Speaking at the annual Congressional Black Caucus Foundation dinner in Washington on Saturday night, Mr. Obama said the death of Michael Brown “awakened our nation” to a reality that black citizens already understood. “In too many communities around the country, a gulf of mistrust exists between local residents and law enforcement,” Mr. Obama said. “Too many young men of color feel targeted by law

For President Obama, the color of a man’s skin is far more important than the content of his character. On the night when a police officer was shot in a Missouri town torn by racial strife, the president donned a shiny tuxedo to attend a ritzy black awards dinner, where he said police nationwide are to blame for community mistrust, even claiming that “most Americans” think the country is racist. Remember, when Ferguson exploded in racial rage in August, Mr. Obama chose not to curtail his 15-day vacation, spending day after day on the golf course in the white-skinned, white-wined, millionaire playground

WASHINGTON — The Senate’s minority whip is confident about Republicans being the majority in the 114th Congress — if conservatives can set aside differences and work to combat the massive influx of donor cash that has Democratic campaigns ahead in the money race. Only in the majority, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) stresses, can conservatives make headway on tamping down overregulation, repealing and replacing Obamacare, securing the “chaotic” border, getting Keystone XL moving, and bringing civilized debate back to the upper chamber. And only by realizing the gravity of the battle for November, he argues, can Republicans relegate Harry Reid (D-Nev.)

President Obama firmly believes the United States is better off now than when he took office, even though the American people cannot “feel” it. The president then cited lower unemployment, private sector job growth, and deficit cuts as evidence of his administration’s success. “I can put my record against any leader around the world in terms of digging ourselves out of a terrible, almost unprecedented financial crisis,” Obama said. Here’s how to reinforce that belief: Sit out the 2014 congressional elections because your favorite candidate lost his primary bid to an establishment Republican. If you live in Kansas, for example, you can suck your thumb while Democrat ringer Greg Orman beats Republican Senator Pat Roberts. If you’re a Kentucky conservative, you can stay home and b***h about Mitch while Alison “Rubberstamp” Grimes heads to Washington.
