Border crisis leaves faith-

Fox News, by Joseph J. Kolb

For more than 35 years, the Border Patrol has referred illegal immigrants to Annunciation House in downtown El Paso, Texas, depending on the non-profit to steer them toward the social services they need while they await deportation hearings. (Snip) Garcia, who has dedicated his life to helping the poor, including illegal immigrants, now finds himself angry with the federal government for not anticipating and preparing for the border crisis, which has seen as many as 50,000 unaccompanied children from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador flood across the border. Experts say they are fleeing exploding violence in their homelands, and are

We should all be angry.

The federal government is acting like a super-liberal democrat politician (is there any other kind?) running for re-election.

The federal government is no longer doing the job the Constitution and our other laws require of them.

The federal government is a failure.

This is the work of the democrat party and the mainstream media at their communist finest.

Once they got a communist elected, all restraint disappeared.

We should all be angry.

If the West doesn’t do more for
Ukraine now, it might soon be too late

Vladimir Putin has responded to the international outrage over the destruction of a Malaysian airliner by his proxies in eastern Ukraine by escalating his aggression. According to U.S. officials, tanks, artillery and other heavy weapons have continued to cross from Russia to Ukraine since the passenger jet was shot down. On Wednesday, two more Ukrainian military jets were hit by anti-aircraft missiles, which Ukrainian officials said had been fired from Russia. The State Department also said Thursday that Russian artillery was firing at Ukrainian positions from across the border. The Russian president is clearly not impressed by Western responses to

The tragic downing of Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 on July 17 by Russian-armed troops provides another occasion for the West to use its superior power to bring Russia’s war in Ukraine to an end. This assertion may sound surprising but nobody denies that the West, if it acts in unison, possesses more than enough power to force Russia to stop its war in Ukraine, withdraw its soldiers who shot down this plane, and move out all of its weapons. Yet the West has only employed a fraction of its power to date, driven as it is by commercial considerations and

Barack Obama has skated from crisis to crisis this summer, from insurgents invading Iraq, an avalanche of unaccompanied minors crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, the re-ignition of Israel-Palestinian violence and another contentious standoff with Russia. But new polling finds that, despite a wave of bad news, Obama´s job approval ratings have not budged. At all. Here´s what the data show: A CNN/Opinion Research poll concluding Sunday found 42 percent approving of Obama, one point below June, May and March; 55 percent have disapproved in each of the last three polls. Gallup´s daily tracking poll released Wednesday found 42 percent approved and

President Obama hit the Bay Area for a fast cash-and-grab fundraising drive Wednesday, but there were signs that even in one of the nation´s most reliable Democratic ATMs, donor fatigue is setting in. There was no listed price for tickets for Obama´s morning appearance at a roundtable in San Francisco for the House Majority PAC - the type of intimate gathering for which admission is usually $32,400 per person, the legal maximum. Some donors said tickets had been offered for a deep discount. And in Los Altos Hills, the heart of Silicon Valley big money, the president´s appearance at the

SYDNEY, Australia — Prime Minister Tony Abbott of Australia said Thursday that his country, which lost dozens of citizens when Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was brought down last week, has sent 50 police officers to Europe in hopes that they would be allowed to help secure the crash site in eastern Ukraine. “It is vital that the search and the investigation not be contaminated by people who have a vested interest in the outcome,” Mr. Abbott said at a news conference in Canberra, the Australian capital. Australia says 28 citizens and nine permanent residents were aboard the plane when it

In the aftermath of the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over Ukraine, there has been no shortage of shameful behavior: the appalling disrespect shown to the remains of victims; the games played to delay an independent inspection of the crash; the crude mendacity of the Kremlin’s efforts to divert responsibility. And then there has been the response -- more accurately, the lack thereof -- of European leaders. After meeting this week to discuss further sanctions on Russia for President Vladimir Putin´s aggression in Ukraine, European Union foreign ministers returned to one of their favorite pastimes: squabbling over which country

Twelve years after Crocs - the company that makes those brightly colored foam clogs everyone loves to hate - was founded, the footwear is finally falling out of fashion. According to the Wall Street Journal, the shoemaker plans to close between 75 and 100 stores and lay off 183 employees in the coming years. It´s also set to cut back on the number of shoe styles it sells and focus on casual shoes in a bid to boost sales. The company expects the cutbacks to result in savings of $14 million by 2015, reports the website. In October 2007, the company was at its peak with a $6billion market value. But on Monday, shares closed at $14.84,

Chicago - Sewage gushed up Lori Burns’s toilet. It swept the floor. It wrecked the water heater, the deep freezer, her mother’s wedding veil. This basement invasion was the third in five years. Burns, 40, could no longer afford to pay a cleanup crew. So she slipped on polka dotted rain boots, waded into the muck, wrenched out the stand-pipe and watched the brown water drain. The South Side native, a marketing specialist, estimated damages at $17,000. And that did not include what she could not replace: the family heirlooms, the oriental rugs, her cashmere sweaters. The bungalow had flooded four times from 1985 to 2006, when her parents owned it.

Michelle Obama may not be having a blood feud with Hillary Clinton, but that doesn’t mean she’s crazy about another Clinton in the White House. The first lady reportedly told people who attended a Manhattan fundraiser earlier in the month that she isn’t at war with either Hillary Clinton or her husband, the former president; however, people who were present say she took a swipe at Hillary Clinton’s presidential aspirations. Obama’s comments came during a question-and-answer session at a fundraiser at the home of financier Charles Myers, according to people who were present.

Colchester – Experts estimate there are nearly 300 adult loons living on Vermont´s lakes and ponds, up from just a couple dozen 30 years ago. On Saturday, more than 200 volunteers spread out across Vermont for the annual loon survey. The results of the survey are trickling in, but Eric Hanson of the Vermont Center for Ecostudies and the coordinator of the Vermont Loon Conservation Project, said there are many more birds now than just a few years ago. He said 15 years ago there were around 100 loons. In 1983, biologists counted only 29. "It is a decent, stable population. I'm hoping that actually things do start to level out.

Donetsk, Ukraine - A powerful Ukrainian rebel leader has confirmed that pro-Russian separatists had an anti-aircraft missile of the type Washington says was used to shoot down Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 and it could have originated in Russia. In an interview with Reuters, Alexander Khodakovsky, commander of the Vostok Battalion, acknowledged for the first time since the airliner was brought down in eastern Ukraine on Thursday that the rebels did possess the BUK missile system and said it could have been sent back subsequently to remove proof of its presence. Before the Malaysian plane was shot down, rebels had boasted

Texas Governor Rick Perry went on Hannity tonight to discuss the illegal immigrant crisis at the US southern border. Perry shared these shocking numbers on the current crisis. “Sean, there have been over the course of the last five years, since the fall of ’08, over 203,000 individuals who have come into Texas illegally who have been booked into our county jails. Those individuals have accounted for over 3,000 homicides and over 8,000 sexual assaults. We can’t afford to wait for Washington to secure this border. We’ve had enough.”

President Obama told Democratic donors Wednesday night that most Americans don’t have time to think about the details of the Benghazi terrorist attack or the problems with Obamacare. Speaking at a fundraiser at the Los Angeles home of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes, the president took his usual shots at the Republican Party, suggesting its members are focused on the wrong issues and frequently “obfuscate and they bamboozle and sometimes don’t say what’s true.” And because people are not familiar with the intricacies of many public-policy issues, Republicans can get away with such obfuscation, he said. “The Republican

I received a call from my sons’ school in March telling me that my oldest needed to be picked up early. He had been given a one-day suspension because he had thrown a chair. He did not hit anyone, but he could have, the school officials told me. JJ was 4 at the time. I agreed his behavior was inappropriate, but I was shocked that it resulted in a suspension. A year after news of the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke, former First Lady Hillary Clinton allegedly told a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist that it was former President Bill Clinton’s abusive mother that caused his unfaithfulness and sex addiction, a new book claims. That journalist was Lucinda Franks and while her latest book, “Timeless: Love, Morgenthau, and Me,” doesn’t have much to do about the Clintons, the part that does offers never before reported information from a 1999 interview with the former First Lady. The New York Daily News obtained parts of the book a month before its scheduled August 2014 release.

The chairman of the Federal Election Commission today blasted Democratic colleagues opposed to his effort to protect conservative media after they imposed rules on the publisher of Rep. Paul Ryan´s new book, opening the door to future book regulations -- or even a ban. "By failing to affirm this publisher’s constitutional right, statutory right, to disseminate a political book free from FEC conditions and regulations, we have effectively asserted regulatory jurisdiction over a book publisher,” warned Chairman Lee E.
