SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador -- Every day, as she travels to the food stall she operates, Mirna Isabel Villalta crosses an invisible but dangerous boundary. Her modest home is in a part of San Salvador controlled by the Mara Salvatrucha, a gang so ruthless and sprawling that the Obama administration has labeled it an international criminal organization. Her food stall is in the city center in an area controlled by Barrio 18, a gang that despises the Mara Salvatrucha. She knows she’s breaking an unspoken rule. “You can’t go from one barrio to the other,” Villalta said. But she does. Every day. And

It isn´t so hard to solve. When gang members commit serious crimes, start executing them. And don´t stop until there are none left.

The word is out to the media. Start running daily stories about how awful life is in San Salvador, Tegucigalpa, and Guatemala City. Generate sympathy for the invaders and treat the Americans like they are the criminals.

The IRS might not have lost the backups of former agency administrator Lois Lerner’s emails after all, according to a top IRS official. In testimony released Monday, Thomas Kane, the IRS’s deputy associate chief counsel, told House Oversight investigators last week that the agency was examining whether all the backup tapes which held the emails have been recycled. The IRS told lawmakers in June that the tapes had been recycled, one of the reasons that an untold number of Lerner’s emails were missing. Since then, the IRS commissioner, John Koskinen, has repeatedly stood by those statements in congressional testimony. But Kane, the top

In a communiqué, the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs regretted the events reported in Ukraine, and voiced its support to the relatives and friends of the 298 people killed in the Malaysia Airlines plane crashing in Ukraine. Furthermore, the Venezuelan authorities expressed their concerns over the "occurrence of similar events, which destabilize the region, and, indeed, are the result of chaos generated by interfering policies pushed forward by the United States and its NETO allies..."

Even in a city long plagued by violent crime, the bank robbery Wednesday left veteran police officers stunned. The robbers led police on a wild hourlong chase, holding hostages from the bank as human shields. Periodically, police say, the robbers would slow down, waiting for pursuing officers to come into view before opening fire with an AK-47-style assault rifle and other weapons. The pursuit ended in a minute-long gun battle that left two suspects and one hostage dead. Police said a third suspect survived uninjured because he used the hostage, Misty Holt-Singh, to shield himself from officers´ bullets. Singh had gone into

There’s a very simple solution to this Obamanation that’s occurring on the southern border. Enforce the law. By which I mean, deport them. Deport them all, not just the latest huddled masses yearning to live for free, forever, in Section 8 housing on EBT cards. No, we must deport all of the 12 or 20 or 30 million illegal aliens who are turning this country into a Third World flophouse. Can we do it? Yes, we can. A few years back, Marsha Coakley famously said, “Technically, it’s not illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts.” The ways things are going, it won’t be long before

Maza said the accident happened when the captain was disoriented. A pernicious, little-known Obama administration policy – one that that incentivizes adult illegal immigrants to use children as human shields to escape arrest and deportation at the border – largely has escaped the media’s notice. This same policy is driving the historic surge of children at the border, as everyone from coyotes to illegal immigrant adults already in America seeks to use children to guarantee their safe passage into the country, or to protect them from deportation if they are illegally living here. The flood of illegal immigrant children, piling up like human debris on the US border, won’t stop

WASHINGTON —Polarization and partisanship are a plague on American politics. Political scientists have found that the two parties have each grown more ideologically homogeneous since the 1970s. The Senate hasn’t been so polarized since Reconstruction; the House has not been so divided since around 1900. As measured by laws passed, the current Congress is on track to be among the least productive in our republic’s history. How did this happen?
