A STRONG 6.9 magnitude earthquake has rocked parts of Mexico and Guatemala, killing one person and injuring another as shock waves toppled walls and caused landslides. The US Geological Survey said the quake occurred in the Mexican state of Chiapas around 11.24am GMT on (21.24am AEDT) on Monday and was located about 8km from the coast near the Guatemalan border at a depth of 92km. One man was reported dead in Huixtla, Mexico, after a wall fell on him, Chiapas Civil Protection reported on its Twitter account. Meanwhile in Guatemala, one person was injured when a wall fell inside a home in the

Let´s hope all are ok, this is a very poor area of both Mexico and Guatemala.

And let´s hope the left doesn´t use this as an excuse for an amnesty, you know they will try.

Well, Representative Hank Johnson (D-GA} warned us about Guam tipping over if too many troops were stationed on one side of the Island.

What he didn´t tell us was that the weight of too many illegal Invaders passing through Mexico and Guatemala would cause huge Earthquakes and more disease that a witch doctor could handle.

On top of that they may cause busses to tip over.

That was no earthquake, it was the sound of millions of poor people and gang-bangers stampeding to our open southern border!

GUATEMALA CITY – Guatemalan authorities on Wednesday captured six men and one woman suspected of smuggling migrants to the United States, a prosecutor said Wednesday. The arrests were made during law enforcement operations in the western province of Quetzaltenango, Alex Colop told reporters. With assistance from the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala, security forces captured seven people who were linked with the smuggling of unaccompanied minors to the United States, the prosecutor said. The network had pocketed $3 million for taking people illegally to the United States, according to Guatemala’s interior minister, Mauricio Lopez Bonilla.

I wonder how the Ebola doctor feels now that his humanitarian trip has cost a Christian charity much more than any services he rendered. What was the point? Whatever good Dr. Kent Brantly did in Liberia has now been overwhelmed by the more than $2 million already paid by the Christian charities Samaritan´s Purse and SIM USA just to fly him and his nurse home in separate Gulfstream jets, specially equipped with medical tents, and to care for them at one of America´s premier hospitals. (This trip may be the first real-world demonstration of the economics of Obamacare.) There´s little danger of an

A city in China´s mainly Muslim Xinjiang region has banned people with large beards or Islamic clothing from travelling on public buses, state media says. Authorities in Karamay banned people wearing hijabs, niqabs, burkas, or clothing with the Islamic star and crescent symbol from taking local buses, the Karamay Daily reported. The ban also covers "large beards", the paper said, adding: "Those who do not co-operate with inspection teams will be handled by police." Xinjiang, a resource rich region which abuts central Asia, is the homeland of China´s mostly Muslim Uighur minority and has been hit by a wave of clashes between locals

Primaries yesterday in Kansas, Michigan, Missouri and Washington gave us few surprises last night. Carl Cameron has the news. New polling from NBC News and the Wall Street Journal show an American public that is not amused. More than 70% believe the country is headed in the wrong direction. Just 14% approve of the job Congress is doing. Just 40% approve of the job President Obama is doing (an all-time low in this poll). 71% of Americans believe economic problems are caused by politicians inability to get things done. Yikes. As the number of deaths linked to that widespread Ebola outbreak continues to rise, there are new concerns that the killer virus is spreading. The World Health Organization is looking into reports of new Ebola related deaths in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. There have been 45 newly confirmed deaths in the past two days, bringing the death toll to 932. Europe is also dealing with its first Ebola patient, a Spanish priest who reportedly contracted the disease in Liberia is now being treated in Madrid. When the latest battle in Gaza finally is over, as someday it will be, hard feelings could linger in the corner offices of Hollywood toward the stars who have voiced anti-Israel sentiments. But will the artists who criticize Israel military strikes -- particularly married Spaniards Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, who accused the country of "genocide" in a widely circulated July 25 letter -- suffer career backlash in a town whose power brokers tend to be strong supporters of Israel? So far, Relativity Media CEO Ryan Kavanaugh is the only studio head willing to go public with his disgust. "As the

Economics, not gangs, is driving them. Justifying the Central American surge on our unguarded border as a flight from intolerable homeland violence, the political left has attempted to paint this year´s 240,000-person influx of illegal aliens into the U.S. as a matter of refugees — and anyone who opposes the human flood tide as heartless. Their pictures of women and toddlers tug on the heartstrings. It´s rubbish. The border surge is mainly

On Thursday night, July 24, Xinran Ji was walking home from his study group meeting, four blocks from USC, where he was a graduate student in engineering. According to police, four teenagers, three boys and a girl, beat 24-year-old Ji with a baseball bat and a wrench. No reason. No connection. Ji managed to struggle back to his apartment, where his roommate found him the next morning, dead in a pool of blood that police traced back to the spot where he was attacked. President Obama gave a press conference this evening. He started a little over an hour late without explanation. Reporters stuck to asking questions that they evidently knew Obama would be comfortable answering. None of them asked him about any of his administration scandals. ABC’s Jon Karl, usually a tough questioner of Obama and his spokesmen, asked a rambling question that played right into the Democrats’ “economic patriotism” canard. Despite the fact that the president showed a passionless, bloodless, disinterested face to the world, he still managed to do some damage. Chris Jansing of CNN asked Obama if the sanctions against Russia are working.

Sen. Pat Roberts fended off an aggressive challenger Tuesday in the Kansas Republican primary, dealing another blow to a national tea party movement that has targeted longtime Washington incumbents. Milton Wolf, 43, a Leawood radiologist making his first run for public office, failed to pull the upset in the race against Roberts, 78, whose political dates to the late 1960s, when he was a congressional aide. After surviving the primary, Roberts is a huge favorite to win his fourth, six-year term in November. Republicans enjoy a nearly 20 percentage-point advantage among registered voters and have won every U.S. Senate race

Former president Jimmy Carter called on the West to recognize the U.S.-designated terrorist group Hamas as a legitimate "political actor" that represents the bulk of the Palestinian population. Carter made the comments in an article he co-wrote with former Irish president Mary Robinson in a new issue of Foreign Policy magazine. It was published as a cease-fire took hold Tuesday after four weeks of fighting between Israel and Hamas, which governs Gaza. In a sharply worded rebuke to Israel, Carter and Robinson said, "There is no humane or legal justification for the way the Israeli Defense Forces are conducting this war."
