Detroit — One of two men who pleaded guilty last month in a mob attack on suburban motorist Steve Utash received a sentence of six years and four months to 10 years in prison for his part on the assault. (Snip) Safford, 30, and Bruce Wimbush, 18, were in the courtroom of Wayne County Circuit Court Judge James Callahan Monday morning to learn their punishment for the beating that put Utash into a 10 day coma and has left him with brain damage. Slaps on the wrist for a mob-attack hate crime that´s not a hate crime, simply because the powers that be also hate people who happen to look like the victim.

More proof that the problem is with the Democratic Party dominated criminal justice system which encourages black on white crime and crime in general. See Eric Holder´s crusade to support black youth that interrupt school classes and threaten teachers at the expense of any black youth that want to learn.

One can only hope that the Judge who ignored the permanent brain damage of an innocent citizen by feral urban pigs one day has this sin visited upon him, or one of his relatives. These scum should be executed.

Oak Ridge, Tenn. — When Oak Ridge National Laboratory´s Biomass Steam Plant opened in 2012, it was supposed to save the lab money while also cutting pollution. But the plant had to be shut down after just a year and a half when a systems check found that some parts were already failing. The Knoxville News Sentinel reported Johnson Controls handled the financing and construction of the $60 million plant. The company was to be paid from the cost savings, estimated to reach $260 million over two decades. An August 2013 audit by the Energy Department´s Office of Inspector General was critical

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and his wife, Melinda, have donated $1 million to a Washington state campaign seeking to expand background checks on gun sales, bringing the total amount the campaign has brought in up to nearly $6 million. The donation to the Initiative 594 campaign was given Friday, but it was not made public until Monday, when it posted on the state’s Public Disclosure Commission website. I-594 would require background checks for all gun sales and transfers in Washington state, including at gun shows and for private sales. In another setback for California´s tough gun-control laws, a federal judge ruled Monday that the state can´t require gun buyers to wait 10 days to pick up their newly purchased weapon if they already own a gun or have a license to possess a handgun. U.S. District Judge Anthony Ishii of Fresno said the 10-day wait for current gun owners is a restriction on constitutional rights that isn´t justified by safety concerns. He noted that all firearms purchasers, including second- and third-time buyers, must pass a state background check of their criminal and mental-health records, but said it

Officials said the system provided an alert 10 seconds before the quake was felt. California is working to complete a statewide system, which could be unveiled in the next few years. Once fully developed, the system could give downtown Los Angeles 40 to 50 seconds of warning that the “Big One” was headed from the San Andreas fault, giving time for elevators to stop at the next floor and open up, firefighters to open up garage doors,

Federal immigration authorities on Monday refused to identify the seven convicted murderers with Atlanta-area addresses that they released during the last fiscal year, citing privacy reasons. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also could not immediately say why they were released or identify the charges for which they were convicted. But on Monday the agency referred to records detailing a variety of reasons why they may have been freed from custody during the fiscal year ending in September. In an Aug. 15 letter to Republican U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa, ICE said it released 169 people with homicide-related convictions

Americans receiving food stamps were caught selling and bartering their benefits online for art, housing and cash, according to a new federal report that investigates fraud in the nation’s largest nutrition support program. Complicating the situation is the fact states around the country are having trouble tracking and prosecuting the crimes because their enforcement budgets have been slashed despite the rapidly-rising number of food stamp recipients, according to the Government Accountability Office report. Under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, 47 million people have been awarded $76 billion in benefits. State agencies are responsible for addressing SNAP recipient fraud

Democrat Michelle Nunn is running ahead of David Perdue in the race for the U.S. Senate in Georgia. The WSB-TV poll found that Mrs. Nunn has 47 percent to 40 percent edge over Mr. Perdue. The libertarian candidate, Amanda Swafford, received 3 percent, and 10 percent of the respondents were undecided. The winner of the race will replace retiring Sen. Saxby Chambliss. Mrs. Nunn, the daughter of former Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn, is seen as one of Democrats best bets to flip control of a GOP-held seat. Republicans need to flip six seats to win back the Senate.

American black people are being lied to and the lies destroy them. They are being lied to by corrupt people like Attorney General Eric Holder and Al Sharpton Jr. and Jesse Jackson and the leftists in our news media. They are being told that their poverty is due to prejudice and that the police are targeting them out of bigotry. They are being told that the dreadful existence of slum life grew out of slavery and is being perpetuated by hatred. None of this is true. Poor black people are poor because they have no family structure and get little education.

FERGUSON, Mo. — It was 1 a.m. and Michael Brown Jr. called his father, his voice trembling. He had seen something overpowering. In the thick gray clouds that lingered from a passing storm this past June, he made out an angel. And he saw Satan chasing the angel and the angel running into the face of God. Mr. Brown was a prankster, so his father and stepmother chuckled at first. “No, no, Dad! When a federal appeals court ruled last month that a seemingly arcane wording flaw in the Affordable Care Act should invalidate a central part of the law, many of those who drafted the statute five years ago reacted with shock and anger. In 2009, they had spent months piecing together a compromise that sought to create a national system of subsidized insurance — but one run by the states. Now, they fear their work could be undone by what some call a "drafting error" and others portray as a political miscalculation. The judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals for

Rep. Paul Ryan said the notion that the House could have unilaterally stopped Obamacare through a government shutdown last year was not a plausible idea to sell the country on. The Wisconsin Republican was addressing a passage from his new book on CBS’s “Face the Nation” in which he described last year’s push toward a government shutdown — in which House conservatives unsuccessfully tried to defund Obamacare — as a “suicide mission.” The purpose of the passage in the book is to try to unify the party, he said, noting that he held back a bit more at the time with party unity in mind. “I don’t think we can succeed if all we do is
