Barack Obama´s Better Half

Michelle Obama is a popular first lady. On average, her favorable ratings have been higher than those of her predecessors, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton. This may well reflect the fact that more so than other first ladies, Mrs. Obama has a stand-alone personal image. Unlike other recent first ladies, her popularity has not fallen or risen with her husband’s. How popular is Michelle? A steady two-thirds of the public has held a favorable view of Mrs. Obama, according to nationwide Gallup poll and Pew Research Center surveys, for most of her time as first lady. At 69 percent, her average

She is the WORST first lady America has known.
She is more like an Imelda Marcos or Evita Peron. Of course, the people who would claim to admire her are too ignorant to realize what a spend thrift, self-centered America hater she is. AND she is racist to boot.

I say these polls are fixed. I have never heard anyone express admiration for this horrid person. What is there to admire about mean, bossy, ill-mannered, using poor grammar, and constant self-promotion? Let´s not forget that big racist chip on her shoulder. She´s proof that not having to work for achievements brings a major FAIL. No one with a iota of class would admire her.

A president´s wife, aka first lady should be just that, a lady, not an activist politician in her own right. Nor should she be entitled to numerous multi-million dollar vacations at taxpayer expense.

Fresh evidence that Russia is directly shelling Ukrainian military targets is stoking concerns that Vladimir Putin feels increasingly comfortable running roughshod over his neighbors in defiance of the U.S. and Europe, putting pressure on the Obama administration to draw a red line that even Moscow can see. "Putin seems like he´s unchecked," Rep. Buck McKeon, R-Calif., chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, told Fox Business Network, calling the latest Russian involvement a "clear escalation." The Obama administration has taken a decidedly tougher tone than Europe against Putin since the start of the Ukraine crisis,

Russia has now amassed around 15,000 troops along the border with Ukraine, the U.S. ambassador to NATO said on Friday, offering a higher figure than one previously cited by the Pentagon. U.S. ambassador to NATO Douglas Lute offered the estimate during a security forum in Colorado, saying there were “now up again over about 15,000 Russian troops amassed along the border with Ukraine.” Meanwhile, the Pentagon said Friday that movement of Russian heavy-calibre artillery systems across the border into Ukraine is “imminent,” adding that Russia is escalating the military action there. A Pentagon spokesman, Colonel Steve Warren, said the U.S.

Washington - The current crisis on the nation´s southern border appears to be fueling a notable shift in American attitudes toward immigration policy with border security growing in importance, according to a new national survey. A CNN/ORC International poll released on Thursday also indicates that a majority of those surveyed support making it easier for the United States to return migrant youth from Central America who have surged across the U.S. border with Mexico this year. But according to the survey, a bare majority views the children as refugees rather than illegal immigrants, and most say they´d be willing to

Vladimir Putin has responded to the international outrage over the destruction of a Malaysian airliner by his proxies in eastern Ukraine by escalating his aggression. According to U.S. officials, tanks, artillery and other heavy weapons have continued to cross from Russia to Ukraine since the passenger jet was shot down. On Wednesday, two more Ukrainian military jets were hit by anti-aircraft missiles, which Ukrainian officials said had been fired from Russia. The State Department also said Thursday that Russian artillery was firing at Ukrainian positions from across the border. The Russian president is clearly not impressed by Western responses to

The tragic downing of Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 on July 17 by Russian-armed troops provides another occasion for the West to use its superior power to bring Russia’s war in Ukraine to an end. This assertion may sound surprising but nobody denies that the West, if it acts in unison, possesses more than enough power to force Russia to stop its war in Ukraine, withdraw its soldiers who shot down this plane, and move out all of its weapons. Yet the West has only employed a fraction of its power to date, driven as it is by commercial considerations and

Barack Obama has skated from crisis to crisis this summer, from insurgents invading Iraq, an avalanche of unaccompanied minors crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, the re-ignition of Israel-Palestinian violence and another contentious standoff with Russia. But new polling finds that, despite a wave of bad news, Obama´s job approval ratings have not budged. At all. Here´s what the data show: A CNN/Opinion Research poll concluding Sunday found 42 percent approving of Obama, one point below June, May and March; 55 percent have disapproved in each of the last three polls. In the aftermath of the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over Ukraine, there has been no shortage of shameful behavior: the appalling disrespect shown to the remains of victims; the games played to delay an independent inspection of the crash; the crude mendacity of the Kremlin’s efforts to divert responsibility. After meeting this week to discuss further sanctions on Russia for President Vladimir Putin´s aggression in Ukraine, European Union foreign ministers returned to one of their favorite pastimes: squabbling over which country

According to the Wall Street Journal, the shoemaker plans to close between 75 and 100 stores and lay off 183 employees in the coming years. It´s also set to cut back on the number of shoe styles it sells and focus on casual shoes in a bid to boost sales. The company expects the cutbacks to result in savings of $14 million by 2015, reports the website. In October 2007, the company was at its peak with a $6billion market value. Chicago - Sewage gushed up Lori Burns’s toilet. It swept the floor. It wrecked the water heater, the deep freezer, her mother’s wedding veil. This basement invasion was the third in five years. Burns, 40, could no longer afford to pay a cleanup crew. So she slipped on polka dotted rain boots, waded into the muck, wrenched out the stand-pipe and watched the brown water drain. The South Side native, a marketing specialist, estimated damages at $17,000. And that did not include what she could not replace: the family heirlooms, the oriental rugs, her cashmere sweaters. The bungalow had flooded four times from 1985 to 2006, when her parents owned it.

President Obama insists on flirting with impeachment even as House Republican leaders insist there’s no such possibility. Obama uses a passive-aggressive strategy that can be judged as a political maneuver, a personality disorder, or both. Secure in the knowledge that impeachment is not the same as removal from office, Mr. Obama brings up the topic on his own and with bold defiance. Martyrdom goes well with a Messiah complex and Mr. Obama’s speeches are a non-stop litany of depicting himself as a victim of Republicans. The president’s demeanor is worrying a lot of people. From the immigration crisis on the Mexican border to the Islamic State rising in Mesopotamia, Barack Obama seems totally detached from the world’s convulsions. When he does interrupt his endless rounds of golf, fundraising and photo ops, it’s for some affectless, mechanical, almost forced public statement.
