The spoiler who could deliver
NC Senate seat to Kay Hagan

American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson

Original Article

Posted By:Hazymac, 7/7/2014 11:12:14 AM

By all rights, the GOP should easily pick up the North Carolina Senate seat currently held by Kay Hagan. (Snip)"Four polls lately put his support somewhere between 8 and 11 percent — not enough to suggest a realistic possibility of winning, but conceivably enough to affect the outcome of the race. The same surveys show the margin between incumbent Democrat Kay Hagan and her GOP challenger, state House Speaker Thom Tillis, at six points or less."

Comments:
Many of us consider ourselves to be small "l" libertarians, and wish that libertarian politicians would influence Republican policy from the inside instead of running destructive races against Republicans as members of the Libertarian Party. (The Greens don´t have even a fraction the toxicity to the Democrats that the LP does to the GOP.) If not for the damned Libertarian Party, the Republicans would have a Senate majority right now.

When Al Franken was supposedly elected in 2008 by a couple hundred votes, the Libertarian had over 13,000 votes and the Constitution party had 8,900 votes. That enabled the Dems to easily manufacture enough votes for Franken to win and vote for every left-wing issue on the table.

#1, that "logic" makes no sense. Voters in NC understand their own state´s interests do not lie with handing Hagan her reelection by a silly protest vote.

What´s wrong with simply voting for Thom Tillis?

That´s how Gabby Giffords got elected in my district in Arizona. I´ve noticed other "spoilers" running in elections here too. I think there were two running the last time Raúl Grijalva was reelected.

Reports have broke through that seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher may return home by the end of the summer. The 45-year-old German is currently situated in a rehabilitation ward in Lausanne, Switzerland and has reportedly been communicating with his family via fluttering his eyelashes. Schumacher spent several months in a coma at the Grenoble Hospital in France after suffering a near-fatal skiing accident in the French Alps on December 29, 2013. Now, however, his wife Corinna recently assured Michael’s fans that the worst is behind them: “The German Grand Prix gives me the perfect opportunity to cordially thank

It is not unusual to see a photograph of a professional golfer hitting balls on the range in front of a group of interested spectators. But it is unusual when the golfer is a pudgy man in his mid-sixties, and the onlookers include Fred Couples, Ben Crenshaw, Nick Price, and Nick Faldo. The photograph, taken before the 1995 TELUS World Skins Game at the National Golf Club of Canada, captures the fascination even the world´s best players had with the legendary Moe Norman, perhaps the greatest ball striker the game has ever known. Tiger Woods told golf writer Jaime Diaz in 2004, "Only two players have ever truly owned their swings:

There are some subjects that are almost too large for literature, even for Tolstoy, who tried to answer the question “how should one live a moral life in an ethically imperfect world?” by following the fortunes of characters in his novel War and Peace. Some characters seek fame, others sensual gratification, a few — like Napoleon — pursue an egotistical sense of power. But altogether too many of the rest are content to gnaw their way through the world like insects, not only incapable of answering Tolstoy’s question but unable to even ask it. Some even want to meet God,

Suppose names like “caliphate” and “country” and “movement” are merely terms meant to befuddle pedantic Westerners; they are fancy words thrown in for the left wing liberals because they can understand nothing except in terms of their own provincial tropes. (Snip) Like Sherlock on the trail, he suggests a common cause links them all. But we are advised not to worry, because the president is hot on the trail of the mystery; trying to identify the factor that connects all these catastrophes. Patience is advised, it is not elementary, my dear Watsons. The world is a complex place which only the the very smartest can understand. Little wonder then that in recent days the president seems almost to be suffering geopolitical whiplash.

The president’s demeanor is worrying a lot of people. From the immigration crisis on the Mexican border to the Islamic State rising in Mesopotamia, Barack Obama seems totally detached from the world’s convulsions. When he does interrupt his endless rounds of golf, fundraising and photo ops, it’s for some affectless, mechanical, almost forced public statement. Roughly 5 million of the estimated 11 million people who entered the country without legal authorization or overstayed their visas could be protected under a leading option the White House is considering, according to officials who discussed
