Israeli air strikes in Gaza

Israel launched a series of air strikes on Gaza early on Monday to quell Hamas rocket fire, and the Islamist group´s armed wing said seven of its gunmen were killed, making it the deadliest day for Hamas since a 2012 cross-border war with the Jewish state. Israeli military authorities confirmed the strikes, saying they "responded to rocket attacks against southern Israel," targeting "terror" sites and concealed rocket launchers. They said the attacks had made "direct hits." (Snip) Seven Hamas fighters were killed and four people were wounded in the attacks, the group´s armed wing said in a statement. The attacks followed a surge in rocket strikes at

Comments:
The Israelis continue to show the world that it is ready to "immediately" defend itself from the terrorist who surround and attack them. Good shooting.

Whereas the West no longer understands what war is supposed to accomplish (kill the enemy before he kills you) courageous Israel goes in and gets the job done. God is with them.

Not really. The 48 hours Bibi gave Hamas has come and gone. Hamas is now demanding terrorist releases (every one of the terrorists who was released in the Shalit deal who had been rearrested for going back to terrorism and an absolute ceasefire by Israel but not by Hamas). The rockets haven´t stopped for an hour and the armed forces is just sitting on the border.

Newberg, Org. - A growing number of openly transgender students have forced schools around the country to address questions so basic that they were rarely asked just a few years ago, much less answered: What defines a person’s gender, and who gets to decide? A small Christian college here, George Fox University, has become the latest front in this fight, refusing to recognize as male a student who was born anatomically female. The student calls himself a man, and as of April 11, when a state circuit court legally changed his sex, the State of Oregon agrees.

Sacramento - The drought is bringing out all kinds of animals, but one has a bite you don’t want to mess with. Len Ramirez says his rattlesnake removal business says this is one of the busiest year’s he’s seen in nearly 30 years. And it’s only halfway done. “We’ve made four calls today, and tonight I don’t know how many I’m going to make this evening, but it’s going to be a long evening,” he said. A room where he keeps rattlesnakes he catches before releasing them into the wild is evidence of how busy he’s been. “We’ve removed 72 rattlesnakes this week,” he said. Earlier this week, Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion aka Snoopy Snoopy Poop Dog) said that he smoked weed last year in a White House bathroom. As it turns out, this grants him membership to an elite club of White House visitors who have, by their accounts, managed to use illicit drugs there. Below is a short history of those who say they joined a different sort of mile-high club during their White House visits. And since none of these claims are verified anyway (Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan has not responded to a request for comment about Snoop´s story), we've thrown in some of the most persistent rumors of drug use by the

Norway closed part of the airspace over its second city Bergen and tightened border checks on Saturday, police said, two days after the country upped security following a terror alert. Norway has been on high alert since Thursday, when its intelligence service (PST) said it had "recently received information that a group of extremists from Syria may be planning a terrorist attack" in the country. "Police have requested Avinor (Norway´s state-owned airport operator) to ban flights over central Bergen," said Gustav Landro, chief of staff at the Hordaland county police department. The vicar of the only Anglican church in Iraq has warned the end for Christians in the country appears “very near” as he appealed for help after a deadline set by Islamic militants to convert or be killed expired. Canon Andrew White, dubbed "the bishop of Baghdad" for his work at St George´s church in the capital, spoke after the ultimatum handed to Christians in the northern city of Mosul by the Islamic State of Iraq Levant (Isis) to convert, pay a tax or be put to death passed last week. For those Christians who did not comply with the decree by 19 July, Isis warned that "there is nothing to give them but the sword.” Many have since fled their homes

In an almost farcical twist on the recent political debate, the Obama White House has joined the Democratic fundraising apparatus in what appears to be a campaign to encourage Republicans to impeach the president. In the past 48 hours, first lady Michelle Obama, White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer, White House spokesman Josh Earnest, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and others have raised the specter of an Obama impeachment. The first lady was first to broach the subject, in a Thursday evening fundraising speech in Chicago. "If we lose these midterm elections,

The unemployment rate is at its lowest point since September 2008 — the fastest one-year drop in nearly 30 years. 401(k)s are growing, fewer homes are underwater, and for the first time in more than a decade, business leaders around the world have declared that the world’s number one place to invest isn’t China; it’s the United States of America — and our lead is growing. None of this is an accident. It’s thanks to the resilience and resolve of the American people that our country has recovered faster

With the fighting in Gaza intensifying daily, the ruling militant group Hamas is finding itself pushed to the limit. Trying to match Israel’s vast military might is an impossible task, and even finding the resources to launch rocket attacks against Israeli targets could only be achieved by heavy foreign investment. (Cut) The militant Palestinian organization has been a firm fixture on the United States’ Foreign Terrorist Organizations list since 1997. Hamas’ only hope is its neighbors in the Arab World. Hamas has two clear allies, according to Middle East experts: Qatar and Turkey. Both have given Hamas their public support and financial assistance

President Obama insists on flirting with impeachment even as House Republican leaders insist there’s no such possibility. Obama uses a passive-aggressive strategy that can be judged as a political maneuver, a personality disorder, or both. Secure in the knowledge that impeachment is not the same as removal from office, Mr. Obama brings up the topic on his own and with bold defiance. Martyrdom goes well with a Messiah complex and Mr. Obama’s speeches are a non-stop litany of depicting himself as a victim of Republicans. Already operating beyond the constitutional bounds of presidential power, Mr. Obama’s strategy is to push the bounds

I received a call from my sons’ school in March telling me that my oldest needed to be picked up early. He had been given a one-day suspension because he had thrown a chair. The president’s demeanor is worrying a lot of people. From the immigration crisis on the Mexican border to the Islamic State rising in Mesopotamia, Barack Obama seems totally detached from the world’s convulsions. When he does interrupt his endless rounds of golf, fundraising and photo ops, it’s for some affectless, mechanical, almost forced public statement. Regarding Ukraine, his detachment — the rote, impassive voice — borders on dissociation. His U.N. ambassador, Samantha Power, delivers an impassioned denunciation of Russia. Obama cautions that we not “get out ahead of the facts,” as if the facts of this case — Vladimir Putin’s

A year after news of the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke, former First Lady Hillary Clinton allegedly told a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist that it was former President Bill Clinton’s abusive mother that caused his unfaithfulness and sex addiction, a new book claims. That journalist was Lucinda Franks and while her latest book, “Timeless: Love, Morgenthau, and Me,” doesn’t have much to do about the Clintons, the part that does offers never before reported information from a 1999 interview with the former First Lady. The New York Daily News obtained parts of the book a month before its scheduled August 2014 release.

ST. Death-penalty opponents say the execution of an Arizona inmate who took two hours to die shows that state experiments with different drugs and dosages are a callous trial-and-error process.
