Gingers could become extinct due

Polar bears and Emperor penguins aren´t the only species under threat due to climate change. Gingers could become extinct as a result of increasingly sunny skies, experts have warned. Scientists believe the gene that causes red hair is an evolutionary response to cloudy skies and allows inhabitants to get as much Vitamin D as possible. But if predictions of rising temperatures and blazing sunshine across the British Isles turn out to be correct, flaming red heads could cease to exist within centuries. While only 1% to 2% of the world’s population are ginger, in the north of the UK, where the weather tends to

Wrong from word one, Polar Bears are not endangered and have survived much more severe climate shifts in the past.

The slow extinction of that bright red hair has been predicted for decades. Something about recessive genes and mating with darker haired peoples - not that I understand it.

But climate change now both explains and causes every possible bad event.

Gingers could become extinct due to America´s and Europe´s immigration polices, or lack thereof. And not having enough replacement births. Not sure if I´m being sarcastic. /s?

Don´t know about the rest of you, but when and article starts off climate change this, climate change that, I dismiss the premise.

It would make sense that red heads have an ability to extract vitamin D in low light conditions as a means of survival.

#12, I just gave a less than enthusiastic review of a Buddhist book because as the author was winding up his writing he referred several times to global warming. Totally off in left field and completely off the subject. Like you, I dismissed his otherwise valid premise. He ruined it with his uncalled for reference to what I consider to be total poppycock.

When a person writes about climate change the logical way to proceed is to give valid scientific evidence for the premise. And if the treatise is to be accepted by it´s readers, it should also give both sides of the argument. This one does neither. As a matter of fact, if several centuries have to go by to determine if the theory is correct or not, the main premise cannot be declared valid even if past history shows the possibility that it could be correct. Not what is predicted for the future. Tying it to global warming is just another of the myriad of articles written to push the discredited theory in hopes of convincing the unconvinceable.

For more years than can be counted, certain people can be counted on attempting to predict the future. Most of them seem to have a large round crystal ball prominently displayed on their office table (where the gullible sit across from the predictorranuses).

It’s just one of many places that have made efforts to understand and compensate for a difficult history: For nearly three decades, countries as varied as South Africa, Rwanda, and the nations of Latin America and post-Communist Eastern Europe have been engaged in this process, often called “transitional justice.” That’s a broad term for the ways in which societies deal with the legacies of past injustice.

More than 2,100 Palestinians, most of them civilians, were killed during the conflict. In addition 71 Israelis were killed – all but six of them soldiers.
