Hillary Clinton:
John McCain´s favorite Democrat?

CBS News, by Lindsey Boerma

Original Article

Sen. John McCain would be "proud" to work with a President Hillary Clinton, the Arizona Republican said Sunday on "Face the Nation" - that is, he added, if she "regrettably" makes it into the White House. Last month, Clinton on "Good Morning America" called McCain, whom she faced in a bid for the Oval Office in 2008, her favorite Republican. Asked whether he reciprocates the sentiment about the former first lady, (Snip) "I respect Secretary/Senator Clinton; I respect her views," he said. "We have had disagreements on a number of issues. But I think it's my job to work with every president if she, regrettably, attains the presidency.

I just caught this part as the question was asked and was shocked by one word, which I thought CBS would edit out (like NBC did to Zimmermann). Surprisingly, they didn´t. The word: "regrettably." He got a zinger in at PIAPS. He may not be Herself's fave after that comment.

McCain was a nut case before he resided in the Hanoi Hilton. You don´t finish near or at the bottom of your Annapolis class without "issues". Further, you are not linked to the destruction of five of your own aircraft without issues. He has been a mess his entire life and only his father being a high ranking admiral allowed him to get as far as he did in the USN.

It´s his job to work with every president?

What on earth does he mean by that? Where does it say that it is the job of an elected politician to work with anybody who happens to be president, regardless of conflicting politics and values?

I have always supposed that the job of an elected representative was to represent the views and values of the American citizens who elected him/her.

Has something changed? Did I not get the memo?

McCain is a strange duck. He keeps getting curiouser and curiouser. It really does seem to be (past?) time for him to fade away.

One customer told the news agency that she visited the restaurant during a business trip. The technology retailer RadioShack, which has spiraled downward in recent months, is rapidly running out of money, CNN Money reports. The chain may not be around for much longer. CNN says the retailer, which operates 4,000 stores, only has $62 million in the bank. Coffers may run dry as early as the fall of 2015. RadioShack officials say they need to close roughly one of every five stores—a total 1,100 locations altogether—and it seems that the chain lacks the funds even to do that. The chain has previously attempted to close stores, but failed to acquire the needed cash from its lenders. The store has long struggled to makeover its brand,

President Obama tried to reassure the public Friday that the deadly Ebola virus won’t be brought to the U.S. by travelers from Africa coming to Washington for a major summit he is hosting next week. The president said travelers from the countries where the outbreak is raging out of control — Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone — are being checked for signs of the disease before they leave their countries. “We’re making sure we’re screening on that end as they leave at the country,” Mr. Obama said. “We’re taking the appropriate precautions. This is something that we take very seriously.” Representatives from more than 50 African nations

1. An impeachable offense is anything Congress says it is. (Snip) But Congress’s exclusive power to impeach does not license it to abuse that power, any more than the Supreme Court’s final say on laws gives it license to deliver arbitrary rulings. The framers carefully defined the grounds for impeachment as “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors” — language with British legal precedent. They clearly did not want removal of the president subject to congressional whim. Indeed, they rejected the addition of “maladministration” after James Madison cautioned that “so vague a term will be equivalent to a tenure during pleasure

Katmandu, Nepal - A major landslide early Saturday morning near Nepal’s border with China killed at least eight people and left hundreds missing, officials in Nepal said. It also washed out a crucial highway and blocked a river, leading to a dangerous buildup of water. “Hundreds of people are missing and at least 40 houses are buried in the landslide,” said Ganesh Khatri Chhetri, a Nepal police spokesman. At least 16 people had been rescued, he said. A section of the Araniko highway connecting Nepal with China was swept away, and rising water around the blockage led thousands to seek higher ground. Most surprising perhaps, a wave of incidents has washed over Germany, where atonement for the Holocaust and other Nazi crimes is a bedrock of the modern society. Plaques and memorials across the country exhort, “Never Again.” Children are taught starting in elementary school that their country’s Nazi history must never be repeated. Congress is leaving town for a five-week recess after failing to address one of the most serious issues facing the nation: the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. Republican leaders in the House were able to recover from an embarrassing setback by passing border legislation late Friday full of political red meat for their conservative base, including revisions to a 2008 anti-trafficking law and more money for the National Guard. Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and his GOP colleagues also passed — over bitter Democratic objections — a bill to rein in President Barack Obama’s program to shield undocumented immigrants from deportations.
