Say it ain’t so, Jeh!
Power Line, by Scott Johnson

On Meet the Press this morning, David Gregory did a commendable job of trying to get an answer from Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to this question (my words): will most of the illegal minors be stay or be deported? The answer is not clear, but I believe it is “stay.” Analyze this: (Video) Gregory asks: “I know there’s a process they have to go through. Will most of these children that we have seen in this desperate situation stay in America, or will they be returned to their homes in Central America?” Johnson responds: “There’s a deportation proceeding that is

The immediate thing for Obama and other amnesty supporters now is to get the issue of the uncontrollable situation along the borderline away from national media coverage and back into esoteric and political obscurity, so that just about all comers illegally crossing the borderline can be caught and released as the Obama crew has been doing all along, and allowed to travel to the interior of the USA to await the next amnesty.

Then of course the Obama and the liberal Democrats want the Republicans to cave and facilitate a massive liberal Democrat designed amnesty and path of citizenship, that will further liberalize the immigration laws, and essentially legalize the flow of what are now illegal aliens crossing the borderline. There are too many potential new socialist oriented foreign born voters out there for the liberal Democrats to ever let go of the uncontrolled illegal immigration political cash cow.

I watched Jeh (who would name their child Jeh??) on MTP this morning, and have to say David Gregory tried every which way to get answers from Jeh, but Jeh spouted rehearsed lines, and was more evasive than an ex at a divorce hearing.
How in the world did such an idiot as Jeh get confirmed by the Senate? And why did President Bush sign that stupid 2008 immigration bill into law?

The Dems shouldn´t be so upset by suggestions that these children be sent back home. After all, wasn´t that the official policy decision made under Clinton´s administration regarding Elián González? (And he even had family members in the U.S. ready to take care of him.)

When asked at a press briefing on Thursday why her party´s message is "not resonating with the electorate," House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told a room full of reporters “we need you to be messengers.” A reporter asked Pelosi: “So, you make this case about the skepticism that people have of this anti-government premise here. When a handful of former NASA employees decided to get serious about retrieving moon photos from 50-year-old analog tapes, they got a lot of negative feedback. "We were told by professionals it would cost millions, but we did it anyway," said Keith Cowing, co-lead on the Lunar Orbiter Image Recovery Project. At the end of March, the project celebrated processing the last of about 1,500 photos made by NASA´s lunar orbiters in the 1960s. The next phase involves preparing them for submission to the Planetary Data System, a public archive. Now housed in a converted McDonald´s restaurant on NASA property

A dramatic scene was unfolding on Capitol Hill on Thursday as House Republican leaders left open the possibility that the chamber could still vote on a border crisis bill -- just moments after punting on the legislation and sending lawmakers home. Earlier in the afternoon, House leaders abandoned the bill after failing to round up enough votes for it. Lawmakers then began heading out for the five-week summer recess. But incoming House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., then unexpectedly took to the floor to say "additional votes are possible," indicating lawmakers should stay. Boos could be heard in the House

In the Speaker´s lobby just off the House floor, members of Congress were full of recriminations over how the border bill had just died -- until it sprang back to life. House leadership has announced a 3pm special conference meeting to discuss the issue and raised the possibility of additional votes before the House departs for summer recess. The change is an abrupt shift from a decision to pull the bill and leave without a vote on it at all. According to Republicans familiar with the matter, the decision prompted a sudden and fierce backlash against Speaker John Boehner from

House Republicans pulled Speaker John A. Boehner’s slimmed-down legislation to address the brewing immigration crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border rather than see it defeated, amid a conservative revolt that the $659 million proposal did not address the core issues. Faced with certain defeat, Boehner (R-Ohio) pulled the legislation from consideration Thursday afternoon, according to guidance from leadership advisers. With more than 20 House conservatives opposed, Boehner did not have enough votes from his own Republican ranks because virtually all Democrats opposed the legislation. The resulting lack of action would end the congressional summer session in a familiar legislative failure, as

UPDATE: House Republicans have abandoned vote on border security bill in face of tea party opposition, the Associated Press reports. WASHINGTON — House Republicans moved toward a vote Thursday to address the immigration crisis on the border, after GOP leaders agreed to conservative demands for a separate vote aimed at blocking President Barack Obama from expanding deportation relief to millions. The surprise maneuver late Wednesday night appeared to be having the desired effect of locking down conservative lawmakers´ support for the $659 million bill to deal with the crisis involving tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors streaming into the U.S.

President Obama demanded that Israel agree to a one-sided cease-fire during a heated phone conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to a report aired on Israeli TV Tuesday. Both leaders quickly denounced the purported transcript of their private discussion as fake. But the TV channel that obtained it, state-run Channel 1, stood by its account. In one bitter exchange, Obama declared that Qatar and Turkey — Hamas’ biggest international supporters — would mediate with the terrorists on Israel’s behalf, according to the TV channel. “I trust Qatar and Turkey. Until the scandal erupted last year, Lois G. Lerner was in charge of the IRS division overseeing tax-exempt organizations.
