Jimmy Carter in Russia
PJ Media, by Kim Zigfeld

Original Article

Posted By:MissMolly, 7/6/2014 4:29:56 AM

You’ll have a hard time finding any mention of it in the left-wing mainstream media, but last Saturday former U.S. President James Earl Carter flew into the northern Russian city of Murmansk on a Gulfstream private jet for a little luxury fishing expedition (Russian-language link). It seems Mr. Carter would like to do all he can to legitimize Russian aggression in Ukraine, and if he can combine doing so with a gold-plated vacay, so much the better. At almost the same moment, Ukrainian government troops were triumphantly raising the national flag over City Hall in the Eastern Ukraine city of Slaviansk,

My cousin used to travel throughout Europe and the USSR on business during the time Jimmah was pres. From top leader to man on the street, he said Russians always laughed at the mention of Carter´s name. Maybe he´s trying to salvage his reputation there, because he certainly can´t do it in the USA.

I misunderstood the headline, I thought he was moving there. Oh well, I guess it was too much to hope it was true. Sigh.

It´s going to be hot tubs, basketball, tennis and golf for the first family this summer, having set plans for a 16-day vacation in Martha´s Vineyard, Mass., on a $12 million, 10-acre forested estate on the southwestern corner of the island. Reports from the Bay State indicate that President Obama and his family will vacation August 9-24 at the 8,100-square foot, beachfront home of a Democratic donor that includes a pool, hot tub, basketball and tennis court. It will be new digs for the first family, who have summered on tony Martha´s Vineyard every year of Obama´s presidency, except in 2012 when

STOCKTON, Calif. -- Robbers fleeing a California bank took three women hostage and threw two of them from their getaway vehicle, as they fired repeatedly at police during a high-speed chase. Police shot out their tires but the shooting continued, fatally wounding two suspects and the last hostage. The violence in this central California city erupted Wednesday afternoon when officers responded to a report of a robbery at a Bank of the West branch and spotted three men taking three female hostages from the bank at gunpoint, Stockton police officer Joe Silva said. The suspects with their hostages in tow fled in

I was told the OBGYN practice where the wives of two prominent Democrats are partners reserves its morning appointments for “important people.” It was an intriguing claim, especially given the fact that Foxhall OB/GYN Associates does not accept Medicaid even as the office is being used as a prop in a Democrat’s congressional campaign. I decided to investigate. Could I get a morning appointment? Was I one of the “important people”? (Snip)John Foust has made his wife the face of his campaign for Virginia’s 10th District. Iran! Oil prices! Rick Perry! Even if you think you know who’ll control Congress next year, the road to the November midterms will be full of big surprises. From a deal with Iran to an uptick in the employment rolls, a lot can happen to shift the political conversation between now and November. Immigration reform, for example, was supposed to help Democrats in the midterm elections. Clashes on the border between angry Texans and buses carrying immigrant children fleeing gang violence and sex trafficking highlighted the GOP’s opposition, and Democrats thought maybe this was the game changer they needed. But the consensus among

A call about trouble involving a crazy person at the Kennedy compound in Hyannisport — what could be more routine than that for a 911 dispatcher at the Barnstable Police Department? But there was one big difference Tuesday night. This time it was a member of the Kennedy family as the victim, rather than the perp. So now it’s officially summer on the Cape. The Kennedys are back in the headlines. This time, though, the guy in the dock wasn’t wearing a lampshade on his head, the favorite attire of Kennedys this time of year. This time the defendant was wearing a Captain

Call in Atticus Finch. Only the scrupulously fair lawyer at the center of Harper Lee´s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, "To Kill a Mockingbird," could get at the truth in the latest conflict over the reclusive author´s privacy. The clash erupted again with Tuesday´s release of "The Mockingbird Next Door: Life with Harper Lee," by former Chicago Tribune reporter Marja Mills. To gather material for her intimate portrait, Mills rented a house in Monroeville, Ala., next door to the 88-year-old author and her older sister, Alice, and gradually got to know them. The tens of thousands of Central Americans who have crossed America’s porous borders over the last year came on the assumption that once on U.S. soil they would never have to return to their countries. The instigators of this influx correctly viewed Obama’s de facto support for amnesty as a flashing green light. After all, how seriously were they going to take U.S. immigration law under a president who treated border security as a punch line to a joke? In 2011, Obama loudly mocked conservatives, the very ones who foresaw today’s mushrooming crisis, as malcontents crying wolf about a vulnerable border. “You

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s stunning primary loss has left a bit of a mess in Virginia’s seventh congressional district, with Democrats weighing whether to invest in the race and allies of GOP nominee David Brat alleging that Mr. Cantor’s backers are pulling money away from his campaign. Democrats, who had all but conceded the general election before nominating college professor Jack Trammell at the last minute, now must decide whether to spend money in a district that leans heavily Republican. But Mr. Brat, in securing one of the biggest political upsets in recent memory, must now find a way to

There’s a very simple solution to this Obamanation that’s occurring on the southern border. Enforce the law. By which I mean, deport them. Deport them all, not just the latest huddled masses yearning to live for free, forever, in Section 8 housing on EBT cards. No, we must deport all of the 12 or 20 or 30 million illegal aliens who are turning this country into a Third World flophouse. Can we do it? Yes, we can. A few years back, Marsha Coakley famously said, “Technically, it’s not illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts.” The ways things are going, it won’t be long before

After President Barack Obama breathlessly addressed four different foreign-policy issues during a 10-minute statement, he summed up the state of a crisis-filled world in one sentence. "We live in a complex world and at a challenging time," Obama said. Obama touched on the laundry list of global flashpoints situations during a statement from the White House on Wednesday — the disputed elections in Afghanistan, the negotiations on Iran´s nuclear program, the Israeli-Palestinian crisis, and, finally, the conflict in Ukraine. The most significant recent development in these situations was the announcement of new sanctions on Russia shortly before the president spoke. Obama described those
