Pat Roberts Stumbles in Answering
About His Kansas Residency

Breitbart TV, by Staff

In an interview that aired on Kansas City’s KCMO 710 AM/103.7 FM last week, Sen. Pat Roberts fielded questions about his reelection with host Greg Knapp, which included queries about a debate with the three other candidates vying for the Republican nomination for his Senate seat, his long-tenure in the U.S. Senate, the debate about his residency and what sets him from challenging front-runner Milton Wolf. On the topic of his residency, which has been subject of controversy, Roberts insisted he was a resident of Kansas and downplayed the importance of actually being in Kansas in order to properly represent

Comments:
Should be easy enough to prove how often he goes back to Kansas ... ask to see his travel receipts. Unless the dog ate them...

This is what the electorate has allowed. We have a political class that barely knows where they came from. If you vote Roberts out he still won´t go home to Kansas. He´ll join the vast network of lobbyists and make ten times what he´s making now selling access.

"..what sets him from challenging
front-runner Milton Wolf."

Breitbart must have created a new definition
for " front runner ".
Survey USA poll June 19-26 showed
Roberts 56 Wolf 23.
A 33 point advantage for Roberts makes Wolf
the " front runner " ??
As a Senator , Barack Obama owned a 1.5 million dollar house in the Kenwood suburb of Chicago.
By the Wolf standard,
he must have been a terrific Senator.

The senate need to return to being elected by their respective state legislature.

Quote" Senators of the United States Congress were originally chosen by state legislatures. Citizens would vote for their state legislators, and those legislators would vote a man into the U.S. Senate.

At the beginning of the 20th century, though, many states had begun to use the popular vote to elect U.S. Senators. But it wasn´t a direct election; the election appeared on ballots as a referendum, and the results of that referendum were then confirmed by the state legislature.

In 1913, however, the Seventeenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution standardized the popular election of Senators throughout the entire country. The Seventeenth Amendment also gave a state´s acting governor the power to appoint someone to the U.S. Senate in the event of a vacancy."

It´s called virtual representation, and was the same argument that Parliament made to the colonist before the revolution. The idea was that every member of Parliament represented all of the citizens of the empire regardless of where they lived in the empire.

It seems that the idea is being resurrected in the United States, err... I mean America. After all if, as Nancy Pelousy said, "We are all Americans in this hemisphere," then our "elected" officials now represent the huddled masses of the entire western hemisphere.

It may take another Spirit of 1776 to revive what is left of our republic.

I agree #3...and every Senator and Representative should be paid directly by the state they represent. That way we get rid of the "pay yourselves as you go" custom as it is currently laid out.

Egypt army destroys 13 more Gaza tunnels
Agence France Presse, by Staff    Original Article

Cairo - Egypt´s army said Sunday it has destroyed 13 more tunnels connecting the Sinai Peninsula to the Gaza Strip, taking to 1,639 the overall number it has laid waste to. Cairo has poured troops into the peninsula to counter a rising insurgency since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi last year, and its security operation involves the destruction of these tunnels. The Palestinian militant group Hamas, which is the main power in Gaza, reportedly uses the tunnels to smuggle arms, food and money into the blockaded coastal enclave. Israel has been waging a military offensive on Gaza since

America should help Israel destroy

Hamas has tried desperately to achieve a strategic win against Israel during the last two weeks, from firing 2,000 rockets on Israeli cities to embarking on suicidal tunnel infiltrations into Israeli territory. (snip) This week, however, the United States made two ill-informed decisions that strengthen Hamas, isolate Israel and point to a severe misreading of the Middle East geopolitical map: an FAA ban on flights to and from Israel, and pushing for a flawed ceasefire deal that would let Hamas retain part of its terror tunnel infrastructure. The U.S. government thankfully reversed the FAA ban, and now should let Israel destroy

Haaretz obtains U.S. proposal for weeklong cease-fire which Israel´s cabinet rejected; Kerry did not recognize Israel´s demand to continue working against the tunnels and presented Hamas as equal to Israel. The cease-fire draft U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry presented to Israel on Friday evening contained practically no mention of Israel´s security needs or of demilitarizing the Gaza Strip of rockets and heavy weaponry or of the need of destroying the terror tunnels linking Gaza to Israeli territory, according to a draft of the document obtained by Haaretz, revealed here for the first time. he one-page document, marked "confidential,"

Hamas killed hundreds of children in the construction of its extensive tunnel network, built partly to carry out attacks on children across the Gaza border in Israel. That report--confirmed by Hamas itself--emerged in 2012, not from the Israeli government, but the sympathetic Journal of Palestine Studies, in an article that otherwise celebrated the secret tunnel system as a symbol of Palestinian resistance to the Israeli "siege" of the Gaza Strip. The article, "Gaza´s Tunnel Phenomenon: The Unintended Dynamics of Israel´s Siege," was published in the Summer 2012 edition of the Journal by Nicholas Pelham, who writes for the Economist and

Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Bachrach said that if the opportunity were to arise again, with US and EU authorities telling airlines not to fly to Israel because of the danger of Hamas rocket attacks, Israel should, instead of seeking ways to convince the officials that there was no danger in flying to Israel, adopt their point of view. “When the announcement of

President Obama insists on flirting with impeachment even as House Republican leaders insist there’s no such possibility. Obama uses a passive-aggressive strategy that can be judged as a political maneuver, a personality disorder, or both. Secure in the knowledge that impeachment is not the same as removal from office, Mr. Obama brings up the topic on his own and with bold defiance. Martyrdom goes well with a Messiah complex and Mr. Obama’s speeches are a non-stop litany of depicting himself as a victim of Republicans. President Obama appears poised to take executive action that would legalize as many as 5 million illegal immigrant parents of U.S.-born children, a prospect that riles local immigration critics and adds a new dimension to concern about swelling immigrant populations in states like Massachusetts eyed as hosting sites for thousands of children who crossed the border unaccompanied. The Associated Press reported yesterday White House officials are laying the groundwork for an executive order that would automatically legalize roughly 5 million of an estimated 11 million people who have entered the country without legal authorization or overstayed their visas.

This is Jonathan Dahoah HeLevi of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs. When The Times of Israel’s Avi Issacharoff first reported the content of John Kerry’s ceasefire proposal on Friday afternoon, I wondered if something had gotten lost in translation. It seemed inconceivable that the American secretary of state would have drafted an initiative that, as a priority, did not require the dismantling of Hamas’s rocket arsenal and network of tunnels dug under the Israeli border. Yet the reported text did not address these issues at all, nor call for the demilitarization of Gaza.
