The Obamas have spent over 44 million dollars in taxpayer money on travel and vacations. Some are even calling him the “most well-trvaeled, expensive” president in our nation’s history. As Americans head off for the long holiday weekend, let’s take a look back at some of the president’s holiday spending. Our president vacations a lot — we’re talking $44,351,777.12 worth of “a lot,” with most expenses charged to the American taxpayer. As of March 2014, Obama has spent more time traveling internationally than any other president, taking 31 trips since assuming office in 2009. The 119 days spent overseas have

They had barely moved in at 1600 PA Ave and they were already tired of the place, if you recall.

I´m surprised it´s not more. It probably is.

In the article, it says this is the cost of their transportation, not lodging, meals, secret service, etc.

And when they travel they book hundreds of rooms at thousands of dollars per night. You are right---it is much much more.

Much of this piggish travel is to please the Mooch and her mother, Mrs Robinson, who has occupied a free apartment in the WH since early ´09. Appears that mother & daughter grifters have to be bribed in order to keep the secret about Obama that Joan Rivers just blurted out.

Saddest thing is that this money could have been used to cover the costs of wounded soldiers & Marines and their families. Thursday´s story about the Marine quadriplegic awaiting cadaver arms noted the costs of his family´s travels between the Boston surgical hospital and his Virginia home. Sgt. Peck said that while the travel costs were large, he would somehow manage. These costs and the costs of other grievously wounded should be taken from Obama´s bottomless WH travel & entertainment budget and not from the wounded.

No one seems to know if there is any budget at all for our first family, or if they have unlimited freedom to hire as many servants as they want, pay them whatever they want, plan as many vacations, with as many guests as they like entertaining. I´ll bet our "royalty" far out spends the European monarchs. This should be stopped, and if GOP wins in ´16 that should be at the top of the to-do list.

The prez earns $400k plus a $50,000 expense account. Why are We picking up the tab for ´all they can invite´ on vacations ? Even if they pay for their own hotels (we wish) We pay for extra security.

Why are We paying for him to use AF1 as a taxi for him to campaign for Dems ?

Since We are paying for their joy rides, We should at least see who is along for the ride.

The audacity of it all. Good to be the king.

Numbers are approximate, but the $44 million is only 237+ hours of flight time for AF-1 and I bet that was used the first year in office. AF-1 costs $185,000/hour to fly. They need to come up with better figures, especially remembering how Moo! rented several FLOORS of rooms in a swanky hotel when she travelled to Spain to shop. I guess when you travel with 200 close friends, those rooms are needed.

And how much has it cost us for Obammy to play almost 180 rounds of golf so far? I´ve read that it takes him a minimum of 5 hours to play a round of golf. Probably more. 180 X 5 = 900 hours divided by a 40 hour normal work week (ROFL,...like "The Won" ever, EVER actually works 40 hours in a week,...) =´s 22.5 weeks divided by 4 =´s 5.6 months of playing golf on our dime.

How much does all of this time and security personnel cost?

The Obamas went in office with the intention of destroying this country and loving every minute of it. They are going all over the world telling people what they are doing and we the people are doing nothing because we would be called racist. The Obamas dug in deep and have continued going deeper every day. They are enjoying every minute of it. The sad thing is that when they wake up, they, like all of us, will have nothing. The people who voted him in office will find a way to blame it on the fact that he is black and everyone threw him under the bus. Actually, he is throwing every person, black, white, rich, poor, liberal, conservative or any other description there is for a person except him and Michelle and the two girls under the buss for life.

The notion that Elizabeth Warren should challenge Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Party presidential nomination has been optimistically tossed around in left-wing circles for a while now. Activists at Netroots Nation recently chanted ”Run, Liz, run.” And no doubt, the excitement generated by Warren is a function of her ideological sincerity—a sincerity that’s most obvious when contrasted with Hillary Clinton’s lack of earnestness and pandering. Still, it seems to me that a lot of people are overestimating the appeal, uniqueness, and popularity of Warren. What’s most enticing about Warren right now is the perception of her, not the reality. Tuesday, a federal appeals court slapped down the Obama administration in a 2-1 ruling that could kill the president’s signature health care law. If upheld by the Supreme Court, the ruling would force Congress back to the drawing boards to design a health law that is actually affordable, rather than bearing the false title “Affordable Care Act.” The ruling in Halbig v. Burwell bars the federal government from handing out taxpayer-funded subsidies to people who buy ObamaCare plans in nearly two-thirds of the states. Those subsidies took the sting out of being forced to buy pricey ObamaCare plans. If the ruling

With the D.C. Circuit Court’s decision today that Obamacare, as written, doesn’t authorize the provision of subsidies on federal health-care exchanges — it just does so for those established by states — residents of 36 states may stop receiving insurance subsidies under the law. President Obama could well ignore the decision, which he asserts is perfectly legal, but he’ll also certainly appeal it — either to an en banc hearing of the D.C. Circuit Court (more judges than the three that just heard it) or to the Supreme Court. If the president chooses to ignore the ruling, we can bet

Democratic polling firm Public Policy Polling (PPP) has released a new poll of the North Carolina Senate race, featuring Democratic incumbent Kay Hagan squaring off against Republican state house speaker Thom Tillis, with ostensibly good news for the Democrat: She’s up seven points and expanded on her lead. Their headline: “Hagan continues to grow lead.” But dig a little deeper and the story is mixed for the Democrat. So, then, what are we supposed to think when the governor of Texas dispatches National Guardsmen to the state border with Mexico in order to deflect the onrush of illegal border-crossers? What are we supposed to do? Do? A strange concept these days. Do something about the Russians and their depraved allies for shooting down a passenger plane? Do something about the depraved crowd of terrorists who provoked Israel into assaulting the tunnels in which they skulk? Do something about those equally depraved Iraqi terrorists now rounding up and expelling Christians from their midst? Do something about the kidnappers of schoolchildren

Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy wasn’t out to make news when he addressed the annual conference of the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and devoted most of his 50-minute speech to the Magna Carta, which turns 800 years old in 2015. But Kennedy did let on that he doesn’t belong to the school of Constitution-worshipers who base their legal doctrines on what they glean to be the original, literal meaning of every word and phrase in the nation’s founding document.

In a potentially crippling blow to Obamacare, a federal appeals court panel declared Tuesday that government subsidies worth billions of dollars that helped 4.7 million people buy insurance on HealthCare.gov are illegal. The 2-1 ruling said such subsidies can be granted only to people who bought insurance in an Obamacare exchange run by an individual state or the District of Columbia—not on the federally run exchange HealthCare.gov. "Section 36B plainly makes subsidies available in the Exchanges established by states," wrote Senior Circuit Judge Raymond Randolph in his majority opinion, where he was joined by Judge Thomas Griffith. "We reach this conclusion, frankly,

Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin on Tuesday urged Walgreen Co. to reconsider a possible move of its headquarters to Switzerland to lower its U.S. tax bill. In a letter to Walgreen Chief Executive Gregory Wasson, Durbin said the company could face a backlash from its customers. “I believe you will find that your customers are deeply patriotic and will not support Walgreen’s decision to turn its back on the United States,” Durbin wrote. “Nearly all of your $2.5 billion in profits earned last year were from sales to U.S. taxpaying customers.” The senator ended his letter with a twist on Walgreen’s

WASHINGTON— President Barack Obama said Joe Biden would make a "superb" president, but questioned whether his vice president or potential rival Hillary Clinton would want to endure another campaign for the White House, a media report Monday said. Obama, in an interview with the New Yorker, said Biden "has seen the job up close, he knows what the job entails. He understands how to separate what´s really important from what´s less important. I think he´s got great people skills. He enjoys politics, and he´s got important relationships up on the Hill (in Congress) that would serve him well." "Joe would

Bill Clinton reportedly has a buxom blond mistress who visits so often when Hillary Clinton isn’t home in Chappaqua that the former president’s Secret Service detail have given her an unofficial code name: Energizer. This is according to Ronald Kessler in “The First Family Detail: Secret Service Agents Reveal the Hidden Lives of Presidents,” due Aug. 5 from Crown Forum. Kessler is no stranger to the controversies surrounding the Secret Service. He broke the story that Secret Service agents protecting President Obama in Cartagena, Colombia, hired prostitutes, and put the president in jeopardy. The book, portions of which I’ve obtained,

The NAACP Legal Defense Fund has filed a class action lawsuit against the city of Detroit for water shutoffs that members claim are racially motivated. The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department stopped service to about 7,200 buildings with overdue bills in June, compared to 1,570 in the same month last year. The issue gained national attention last month after activists appealed to the United Nations for help. The shutoffs are “being done in a discriminatory fashion,” the NAACP’s Veronica Joice told a local CBS affiliate. “They should at least take a look at whether there’s a better way to do this that doesn’t affect the most vulnerable citizens

Days after IRS officials said in a sworn statement that former top agency employee Lois G. Lerner’s computer memory had been wiped clean, the agency put out word to contractors Monday that it needs help to destroy at least another 3,200 hard drives. The Internal Revenue Service solicitation for “media destruction” services reflects an otherwise routine job to protect sensitive taxpayer information, but it was made while the agency’s record destruction practices remain under a sharp congressional spotlight. Congressional investigators of the IRS targeting of conservative groups have been hampered by the unexplained destruction of emails and other records of Ms. Lerner,

WASHINGTON —Polarization and partisanship are a plague on American politics. Political scientists have found that the two parties have each grown more ideologically homogeneous since the 1970s. The Senate hasn’t been so polarized since Reconstruction; the House has not been so divided since around 1900. As measured by laws passed, the current Congress is on track to be among the least productive in our republic’s history. How did this happen? One of the main causes has not gotten enough attention: the party primary system. The reasons behind the shocking primary defeat last month of Representative Eric Cantor of Virginia, who

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) reportedly plans to dispatch the Texas National Guard to the U.S. border with Mexico, according to news reports. Perry will announce his plans Monday to mobilize some 1,000 guardsmen to the Rio Grande Valley to increase security at the border, according to the Monitor, a south Texas newspaper. The newspaper quoted a state senator and an internal memo it obtained from a state official’s office. Perry spokesman Felix Browne told The Washington Post he would neither confirm nor deny the report, but said all details will be given at a news conference at 2 p.m. Central time

Former President Bill Clinton said his wife Hillary Clinton needs time to think about what her message to voters would be if she runs for president in 2016. She "really does need some time to think through this,” now that her memoir Hard Choices has been published, he said in an interview with CNN. "We´ve reached a point in our life when we think you really shouldn´t run for office if you don´t have a clear idea of what you can do and a unique contribution you can make and you can outline that," Clinton added. "Now that the book is done,
