Taliban set fire to 200
fuel trucks in Afghanistan

A Taliban bomb attack on the outskirts of Kabul set ablaze 200 fuel trucks that the militants claimed were supplying foreign troops in Afghanistan, officials said. The tankers were set on fire as they sat in a parking lot waiting to enter the Afghan capital, which is currently gripped by a fraud dispute over presidential elections in June. Taliban insurgents fighting a 13-year-war against US-led forces in Afghanistan often attack western supply convoys and claimed responsibility for the late Friday night attack. Television footage showed black smoke billowing above the site of the attack, with the charred wreckage of dozens of trucks

Had these vermin just arrived from another planet we would know what to do with them.

The current state of affairs both locally and internationally lobbies in favor of seclusion.

Why debate with idiots ?

Angry, malicious idiots, at that.

I have an excellent blender, a small grove of citrus trees, a decent ice machine and several cases of Padron.

.....and I´m not afraid to use them.

Yall are welcome but that last ten miles of dirt road is a Prius killer.

British Islamic State Terrorist
Threatens to ´Come Home´

The fears of homegrown Islamic extremism striking the streets of England were heightened recently by the gruesome video of the beheading of James Foley, a US journalist murdered by a British Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) terrorist in Syria. That British IS jihadist is far from alone in the ranks of the extremist group that has conquered large portions of Iraq and Syria, declaring itself early last month as a caliphate. According to the UK´s Home Office, 500 people associated with Britain have joined IS, and roughly half have returned to the UK. Khalid Mahmood, a British MP based in Birmingham, estimates

President Barack Obama came to the White House briefing room last night and conceded: "We don’t have a strategy yet" for confronting Isil. The remark is a gaffe in the classic sense: a clearly true statement that the politician who utters it immediately regrets. Republicans seized on the line as evidence of Mr Obama dithering in the face of the jihadist threat, and the President´s men raced to the airwaves to try to walk it back. But the fact is that despite more than 100 air strikes against Isil in Iraq since the beginning of August, the White House remains unable to field

President Barack Obama took the podium this afternoon to address serious foreign policy issues, including ISIS militants in Iraq, the ongoing civil war in Syria and the crisis in Ukraine - but all anyone could talk about was the commander-in-chief´s tan suit. Within minutes, Twitter lit up with some 4,000 comments about the president´s summery sartorial choice. Some users praised the fashion-forward leader of the free world for his bold selection, while others suggested that the taupe two-piece number, paired with a crisp white shirt and a striped grey tie, was not an appropriate ensemble for the occasion.

President Barack Obama said during a Thursday press conference that his administration doesn´t have a plan worked out yet for defeating the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) in Syria. [Snip] ´What I´ve seen in some of the news reports suggests that folks are getting a little further ahead of where we´re at than we currently are,´ Obama cautioned. EU to ban high-energy hair

The European Union is considering pulling the plug on high-wattage hair dryers, lawn mowers and electric kettles in a follow up to its controversial ban on powerful vacuum cleaners. The power of hairdryers could be reduced by as much as 30 percent in order to be more eco-friendly, a draft study commissioned by Brussels suggests, threatening many of the models favoured by hairdressers and consumers for speedy blow-dries. New proposals are expected next spring to outlaw dozens of household electrical devices that European officials regard as using too much electricity, as part of plans to meet EU targets on energy

Iranian military leaders have openly boasted that they have begun to send weapons to Palestinian Arab terrorists in Judea and Samaria and elsewhere in the region, the Washington Free Beacon reported Thursday. The report quoted a top Iranian military commander who confirmed that weapon shipments to Judea and Samaria have already begun and that more will be sent to other “Palestinian resistance groups.” “Arming the West Bank has started and weapons will be supplied to the people of this region,” Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, the commander of Iran’s volunteer Basij force, told the state-run Fars news agency on Wednesday.

Syrian rebels have reportedly taken UN personnel prisoner after they took over the area near the Kuneitra border crossing on the Golan Heights. The UN personnel were stationed on the Syrian side of the border. No confirmation of the story has been issued, and the number of those taken prisoner is also unclear, with some reports saying that “dozens” of personnel have been captured. The reports identified the kidnappers as being members of a group close to Al Qaeda that is fighting soldiers of the regime of Bashar al-Assad. Syrian officials said that they had managed to wrest control of the village

What do you think? Do you think if I write a thought-provoking, probingly-artistic contemporary opera on the subject of Michael Brown’s untimely shooting, it will be met with critical acclaim? I feel confident in saying that most Americans are disgusted by the perfectly legal practice of U.S. companies avoiding taxes by incorporating in another country. So why does it take a whopper of a story to get the media to pay attention? Burger King, as you know, is moving to buy the Canadian chain Tim Hortons, and this is more about dollars than doughnuts. The hamburger giant plans to move its headquarters to Canada, thereby slashing its Treasury tax bill. The White House doesn’t like it. Democrats don’t like it. The Republicans don’t like it. President Obama’s plan to schmooze Wall Street honchos at a Westchester fund-raiser Friday is grounding wealthy weekenders who planned to fly to the Hamptons or Nantucket for the Labor Day holiday. The FAA has issued a no-fly warning that extends for most of Friday and all day Saturday through Sunday, grounding seaplanes to East Hampton, Montauk, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. On Friday, Obama will be feted at the home of one of his top bundlers, 32 Advisors’ Robert Wolf, in the aptly-named Purchase, NY, with 250 high-rollers paying up to $32,000 each to bend Obama’s ear. CULLMAN, Ala. — California is looking to bar the “Stars and Bars.” A bill sits on Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk to ban California from displaying or selling the Confederate flag or objects with images of it. The state’s Legislature passed the bill nearly unanimously last week. Assemblyman Isadore Hall III, D-Compton, introduced the legislation after his mother discovered the Capitol gift shop sold a replica of Confederate money that contained a picture of the flag, according to the L.A. Times. The lone dissenting vote among the 67 cast was from former California GOP gubernatorial candidate Tim Donnelly of Twin Peaks. He argued

The last two Republican candidates for president have been among the weakest GOP candidates in 50 years. Barack Obama presented Mitt Romney with a gift in 2012: A struggling economy, sluggish growth, a paucity of jobs, and a health care law that was extremely unpopular.
