Why Is Hillary Clinton in England?
National Journal, by Emma Roller

Hillary Clinton is spending her Fourth of July weekend visiting—where else?—the United Kingdom. Clinton has been doing a media tour across the pond, promoting her book against flagging sales. But she´s already gotten cries of "gaffe!" from some conservative media outlets and British commentators alike. In an interview with the BBC´s Woman´s Hour show, Clinton misidentifed the two largest political parties in the U.K. after being asked about the "special relationship" between the American and British governments. "It is so special to me, personally, and I think it is very special between our countries. There´s just a—not just a common language—but a common

"I´ve been to London to visit the Queen!"

"Hillary, Hillary, what did you there?"

"I tried fooling her too, but she just didn´t care...!"

Hillary is in England because she stuck her foot in her mouth so many times her in the USA while promoting her drab book. Hillary probably thought she could hoodwink the Brits, but she continued to swallow her foot with that Tory/Conservative Party gaffe. Maybe she´ll head to Nigeria to hide next?

Brits, as a rule, are far more politically sophisticated than Americans. They see a con job and Clinton is a massive con. Everything about the woman reeks of shyster and liar. Of course, no matter how many "gaffes" she make, she has the adoring, slobbering media to keep it below the fold if it get´s published at all. British media are a bit different. But, it does not matter. It´s what the dumbed down Americans think...and quite frankly, it is doubtful they think anything at all.

Texas Governor Rick Perry: America
Must End ‘Ambivalence’ On Israel
Associated Press*, by Staff    Original Article

Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Wednesday criticized an American “policy of calculated ambivalence” toward Israel, a nod toward conservative voters as he considers a second run for president. The retiring Republican governor spoke at a pro-Israel rally outside Dallas’ city hall. Perry mostly refrained from attacking American policy in a five-minute speech, but said America must continue to wholeheartedly support Israel and that Israel was justified in defending itself. Several hundred people at the rally waved white-and-blue flags and cheered as he spoke. “America must be clear: Israel has the right to exist as a Jewish state,” Perry said, his

Cold War II? World War III?

A reporter asked President Obama on Tuesday if ratcheted sanctions placed on Russia by America and the EU marked “a new Cold War.” The United Kingdom’s Common Defense Committee said Thursday that NATO is unprepared for further aggression from Russia. Roger Cohen of the New York Times has explained in the Atlantic why World War III is not so unimaginable after all. It has become apparent that Eastern Europe is unstable, and in a world knit tightly together by technology and treaties, that instability may prove for everyone inescapable. It is sobering to think about the repercussions and lessons of the

The Labor Department is putting the screws to the folks who are cheating on the unemployment and inflation surveys. Sources tell me the Bureau of Labor Statistics is forcing the Census Bureau to change the way it fact-checks the surveys that produce some of the most important economic statistics compiled by the government. And that tells me the Labor Department must believe there are substantial irregularities in the numbers. I think it’s well past the time the Labor Department owns up to the fact that its surveys have been corrupted by manipulation. Now it needs to determine how far back this problem goes. Thus do the Clintons move from thin-skinned to authoritarian. No one expected them to be happy with new biographies written by political opponents such as Ed Klein (Blood Feud) or Daniel Halper (Clinton Inc), given that the purpose of both was to rebut the anodyne, campaign-trail preparation of Hillary Clinton’s widely panned Hard Choices and the earlier memoirs from both herself and Bill Clinton. The genre of pre-election biographical critique/polemic has its controversies, but also a long history on both sides of the political divide. JERUSALEM -- Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that Israel will destroy the Hamas tunnel network in the Gaza Strip "with or without a cease-fire," as the military called up another 16,000 reservists to pursue its campaign in the densely-populated territory. Netanyahu´s vow came as international efforts to end the 23-day-old conflict seemed to sputter despite concern over the mounting death toll, with more than 1,300 Palestinians, mostly civilians, and more than 50 Israelis, almost all of them soldiers, killed since July 8. Hillary Clinton has been working full-time to control the story of her time as Secretary of State. That was the point of her clunky, largely unread book, and the point of her awkward, gaffe-laden book tour. Clinton argues (plausibly) that she wanted a more activist approach to Syria than that served up by her boss. She argues (implausibly) that she wasn’t really sold on the “reset” with Russia. As to Libya, Clinton’s priority must be to duck, to the extent possible, the political fallout from the killing of our ambassador and three other Americans by terrorists in Benghazi. But what about the larger

In 1968, three members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine hijacked an Israel-bound El Al flight, diverting it to Algiers. It was one of the first terrorist hijackings in modern history. In response, Israel implemented a wave of unprecedented airport security reforms — including luggage checks and individual passenger screenings. For its efforts to protect passengers, Israel was scorned by the liberal elite for putting innocent travelers through an invasive and burdensome ordeal. Thirty-three years later, al Qaeda terrorists hijacked four US planes, crashing two into the World Trade Center. Today, Israel’s once “insensitive” policies have become

The internal memos and 144-page campaign plan prepared for Democratic Senate candidate Michelle Nunn are a fascinating if somewhat horrifying glimpse of the political industrial complex. The document–available here–was first made public by National Review. Much of the reporting so far has focused on internal opposition research in the memo exploring the potential weaknesses of Ms. Nunn’s candidacy. But I’d argue that the real revelations involve fundraising’s central role in every aspect of political campaigns. That’s not really news, but it is described in the memo in incredible detail. Ms. Nunn is advised to focus on fundraising “with relentless intensity” and to
