Michelle Obama Fights

WASHINGTON-- First ladies typically avoid getting into public scraps, but Michelle Obama has jumped into perhaps her biggest battle yet. She´s fighting a House Republican effort to soften a central part of her prized anti-childhood obesity campaign and she says she´s ready "to fight until the bitter end." Mrs. Obama even mocked the GOP effort in an opinion column and argued her case before her Twitter followers. "Remember a few years ago when Congress declared that the sauce on a slice of pizza should count as a vegetable in school lunches?" she wrote in The New York Times. "You don´t have to be

She was not elected and neither was Valerie. Our government has been turned over to them by the laziest man on the planet and so far all they have done is create a big mess. They have set back women´s push for power by being incompetent and having too much hubris to admit it. I can´t wait for them to be out of the WH permanently. 2016 can´t get here fast enough!

Hey, Mooch is right! The sauce on a pizza is made from tomatoes and they are FRUITS. She says she wants kids to eat more fruits and veggies, so what´s the problem with pizza sauce?

One of the lunch photos I´ve seen posted by unhappy kids shows a piece of chicken on a plain bun. What´s healthier, that or a slice of pizza which has cheese (calcium), tomato sauce (vitamin C), sausage (protein) and crust (grain)?

If I remember correctly, as obviously Moochie doesn´t, the school lunch kerfluffle was about allowing ketchup to count as a vegetable. That lasted about ten seconds. But this is what you get when politicos try to micromanage your life. And yes, I´m including Mooch. She´s as political as they come.

Botanically speaking, tomatoes are berries and therefore fruit. On the other hand, a case could be made that anything that is neither animal nor mineral is, by process of elimination, vegetable. That would leave both air and water as vegetables. A knotty problem. But Queen Kong should BUTT out.

But, Moochelle, you DO have to be a nutritionist to declare what and how much food is appropriate for each individual. You are NOT a nutritionist and you never will be. You aren´t even a lawyer! FTA: The association says it fully supports getting kids to eat healthier but says many districts are losing money because students aren´t buying the healthier lunches. Even your unionized lackeys don´t believe you know what you are doing.

"How can we call these standards a success when they are driving students away from the program?" she [Diane Pratt-Heavner, a spokeswoman for The School Nutrition Association] said.

It doesn´t matter what you call it. All that matter is that they do what Michelle tells them to do, whether it´s a success or not. The goal is for Michelle to be co-president and dictate what people should do, just as her husband does.

As for mocking the sauce on a pizza being a vegetable, er, it is. It is made from tomatoes (tomatoes are really a fruit, but that´s irrelevant). The stomach doesn´t know whether a tomato is in uncut form or pureed. So, dear, sweet, gentle Michelle, the sauce really IS a vegetable.

Michelle Obama is bossy biddy. I believe much of the obesity crisis in this country is due to lack of exercise. Kids are more sedentary. They play video games. They are not outside playing tag and hide and seek. We had two recesses per day in school and PE twice a week. We walked to and from school. I realize that was then and this is now, but kids need to be up and about. They also need to eat foods they enjoy. A peanut butter sandwich with a few chips some celery and carrots and an apple was a staple when I was a kid. Michelle needs to butt out (no pun intended). This is not her business. Parents should decide what their kids eat. No one wants your opinion because you are doing more harm than good when the kids won´t eat what you suggest. I am, however, a big proponent of NO vending machines in school. No pop, candy, etc. Kids don´t need the temptation., but for goodness sake allow them to bring appropriate treats on their birthday. This whole thing has gotten out of hand. Use some common sense and quit listening to the food Nazi´s.

The Little Dictatress Who Could wants to control your kiddies´ lives. This isn´t about proper nutrition. It´s about exerting and coercing the same kind of power her hubby weilds. She wants a piece of the action.

She said that pizza sauce wasn´t a vegetable. Er, it is. (Technically it´s a fruit, but that´s not relevant here.) The body doesn´t know the difference between an uncut tomato and a pureed tomato, so she is wrong.

Have you ever noticed how liberals are the only people who seem to have this overweening compulsion to control what other people do? Conservatives never do that. It´s an interesting phenomenon.

Speculating, there is something in the DNA of people who become liberals that makes them want to seek power over others. Never content to allow people to make their own choices (for reasons which escape me), liberals wrap their lives and their tentacles around everything that can be molded to conform to their idea of what is right and good. Nevermind that their solutions always restrict and never allow expansion and growth.

Is is that liberals are born, not made? Do they become liberals because of a recessive gene? Or does liberalism cause them to develop a stunted sense of right and wrong?

Still studying this...

Those of us who chose to go another path are said to be different with a derogatory smirk. Being different isn´t tolerated. It isn´t comfortable to the limited think of a liberal/democrat. That´s one of the reason there is no deductive/logical thinking on their part. It isn´t approved by the majority.

If kids are shunning the lunches foisted on them by Mooch´s program, why not just implement an Affirmative Action policy around it? It´s the way authoritarian socialism tries to force businesses and schools to select candidates they don´t really want, maybe the same approach will persuade kids to select food they don´t really want...

Of course, the only remaining problem will be getting the kids to actually eat the stuff. Enter the program to re-purpose all those feeding funnels siezed from illegal foie gras operations -- use ´em to force-feed the kids what Mooch decides they should eat.

But make sure to leave Obama´s kids in their private school that isn´t affected by her self-righteous dictates...

Okay, Michelle-bashers, you don´t understand. According to the first 20 pages of "Blood Feud", the First Lady is building a series of accomplishments so she will have a record on which to run for political office. Do any of us think Ma Belle is going to start with the Chicago City Council? My inference is that she intends to begin by challenging Hillary Clinton in 2016.

So, we have to let her alone while she gets ready to run the country. The school lunch program is just the beginning.

How´s that for giving us all sick headaches?

MIAMI -- Hillary Clinton covered all her bases in Miami on Thursday: She padded her wallet with a paid speech, pitched her memoir with a book signing and fundraised for a Democrat in a critical presidential state. This is becoming a familiar formula for Clinton. In October alone Clinton has four trips planned -- to Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas and San Francisco -- where she will combine a paid speech with either a book event or a fundraiser for a Democratic candidate or group. The strategy is part logistical, part practical for Clinton. But as she considers a presidential run in 2016,

I have written frequently that I estimate that one-third of the mortgage foreclosures in the 2007-10 period were of Hispanic homebuyers. Very many had been granted mortgages, despite bad or dubious credit, by lenders who then fobbed them off on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac or other mortgage securitizers, in the meantime gaining brownie points with regulators for lending to “minorities.” Evidence supporting this comes, inadvertently, from an Urban Institute report spotlighted by the industrious and provocative blogger Steve Sailer. A presidential defeat isn’t an easy thing to bounce back from. And Mitt Romney did it twice. So it was understandable that after he lost the presidential race in 2012, he was adamant about closing the door to the possibility of a third campaign. But recently, speculation is whirling that Romney may not be so adamant anymore. When asked if he was running in a New York Times interview published earlier this week, Romney said : “I have nothing to add to the story. We’ve got a lot of people looking at the race,” he said. “We’ll see what happens.” That response, which

Meghan McCain joined the dog pile on the Secret Service this week, saying she’s had “nothing but horrible experiences" with the agency and likening the agents to “glorified mall cops.” The 29-year-old author and television personality, who is also the daughter of former GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), opened up on Pivot’s “TakePart Live” about some of her interactions with the Secret Service. "I have nothing but horrible experiences with the Secret Service,” McCain said. “One of my friends called them glorified mall cops and I don´t think that´s terribly far off. I found them cliquey. I hated

WASHINGTON — Representative Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland was at the grocery store the other day when he ran into an elderly black woman who expressed growing concern about President Obama’s safety. Why, she asked, wasn’t he being better protected by his Secret Service agents? The furor that led to this week’s resignation of the director of the Secret Service resonated deeply among blacks, outraged that those supposed to be guarding the first black president were somehow falling down on the job — and suspicious even without evidence that it may be deliberate. “It is something that is widespread in

Go to a grocery store in California and buy all the milk, eggs and vegetables you want. But there’s one thing you won’t find at the checkout line, beginning July 1, 2015: Plastic bags to carry your stuff home. Gov. Jerry Brown (D) on Tuesday signed into law a ban on single-use plastic bags, making California the first state to prohibit stores from using the ubiquitous carry-alls. Shoppers will be charged 10 cents for every paper bag and heavy-duty plastic bag they use. “This bill is a step in the right direction,” Brown said in a press release announcing his approval. “It

The hawkish Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina says he is thinking about running for president in 2016. In an interview with Stephen Hayes of the Weekly Standard, the senator, running for re-election to the Senate this year, said: “If I get through my general election, if nobody steps up in the presidential mix, if nobody’s out there talking — me and McCain have been talking — I may just jump in to get to make these arguments,” Graham said. Graham, 59, also dismissed Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, 43, as a presidential candidate, saying he is too young. “He’s a good

Speaking at a Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors event last night, Hillary Clinton decided to talk about Alexis de Tocqueville. The problem? She got it wrong -- by about a hundred years. "There´s a wonderful phrase that was first used by Alexis de Tocqueville, who came to the United States in the very early 1930s and traveled around our country," said Hillary Clinton, a probable 2016 presidential candidate. "And he was so amazed at how Americans organized themselves -- you know, coming from aristocratic Europe, which was totally top-down and hierarchical -- he couldn´t believe how many of us were joiners.

Thursday while speaking at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, President Barack Obama giggled and raised his arms as he mocked the Fox News Channel for it´s reporting on ObamaCare. Obama said, "There is a reason fewer Republicans, you hear them running around about ObamaCare, cause while good affordable health care might seem like a fanged threat to the freedom of the American people on Fox News it turns out its working pretty well in the real world."
