Father of Nicole Brown Simpson Dies
NBC News, by Phil Helsel

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 7/4/2014 10:52:58 PM

The father of Nicole Brown Simpson died Thursday after battling a lengthy illness, his family announced Friday. Louis Brown Jr., 90, whose ex-son-in-law O.J. Simpson was accused of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson in 1994, died with his family at his side, a family spokeswoman said in a statement. O.J. Simpson, 66, currently in prison on a 2008 robbery conviction, was acquitted of his wife’s murder in 1995 after a closely-followed trial. Louis Brown would go on to form the Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation after his daughter’s death, which is an organization that helps victims of domestic violence.

Comments:
For myself, who watched most of the OJ Trial twenty years ago, this is sad. Especially since his lovely daughter was murdered by such a phony "icon" in the black community. R.I.P.

RIP Mr. Brown. You lived many years after knowing what your daughter endured. Those years must have been brutal.

Hope you get a chance to drop kick OJ´s ass straight to hell when his time finally comes.

Egypt: All sides agree to 72-hour

(Live blog) 23:02 - Palestinian officials confirm truce at 8 a.m.: The Palestinian delegation to Cairo — which includes representatives of Fatah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other factions — tells Egypt this evening that it accepts its offer for a 72-hour truce, beginning at 8 a.m. tomorrow, senior officials in the delegation tell The Times of Israel. The officials say the Egyptians have made it clear that Israel has agreed to the offer in principal. They note that the agreement began as a request for a 24-hour truce to allow the head of the Red Cross to visit the Strip, and was then expanded to 72 hours, with the option of a further extension.

It has been encouraging, even inspiring, to read and hear the loud and angry response in Israel — condemnatory across the board, from right to left — to the ludicrous ceasefire proposals that were floated this past week by John Kerry, United States Secretary of State, partly on his own and partly in consultation with two of the world’s most notorious generators of Israel-hate: Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey and the leadership of Qatar. Erdogan had just accused Israel of barbarism worse than Hitler, and Qatar underwrites terrorism and murder all over the world, perhaps more than does any other financial center including Iran.

The Sunday pages of The New York Times ran a historical first for the long-running newspaper — a full-page advertisement for marijuana that wasn’t placed by an issue advocacy group. Rather, the ad came from the Leafly, a website and mobile phone app organization that simply rates marijuana dispensaries, Newsmax reported. “While we have run ads from marijuana advocacy organizations in the past, such as NORML [the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws], this may be the first non-advocacy ad that has run,” one newspaper spokesman told AdWeek. “But since we do not track advertisements by subject,

Sen. Chuck Schumer said the federal government needs to hurry up and issue guidelines to stop drones from spying on innocent Americans. “New York City is the Wild West of drones,” the New York Democrat said, the New York Daily News reported. “The FAA plain and simple needs to stop dragging its feet.” Mr. Schumer said both the Federal Aviation Administration and the Commerce Department are supposed to have privacy flight rules for drones in ink before the end of the year — but that agency officials are moving too slow to keep pace with the rapidly emerging technology. He said he specifically wants guidelines that prohibit drone

The military campaign in Gaza is continuing, and the only element coming to a conclusion right now is the action against the tunnels, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Monday. “The campaign will end only when quiet and security for a prolonged period of time is restored to Israeli citizens” he said, following security deliberations with Defense Minister Moshe Ya´alon and Chief of Gen Staff Lt.-Gen Benny Gantz at IDF Southern Command headquarters. Netanyahu, in his comments, made no mention of reports that US Secretary of State John Kerry was trying to broker another 72-hour cease fire. The last one he brokered,

Mitt Romney is again teaming up with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. The 2012 GOP presidential nominee will join Mr. Christie for a fundraiser next month to benefit the New Jersey Republican Party, CNN reported. The Sept. 10 event in East Brunswick, New Jersey, is billed as a birthday party for Mr. Christie, who turns 52 next month, with Mr. Romney listed as a “special guest” on the invitations. Mr. Christie was a top surrogate for Mr. Romney during the 2012 presidential race, regularly leading rallies for the former Massachusetts governor. This time it’s Mr. Christie who is eyeing a White House run in 2016.

The absence of moral courage

Moral courage is the ability to act rightly, in accordance with our values, in spite of popular opposition, threats of shame and scandal, or discouragement from expected backlash. As Abraham Lincoln once said, “Be with a leader when he is right, stay with him when he is still right, but, leave him when he is wrong.” For the most part, America has been silent on calling out Barack Obama, or even their own representatives, for gross ineptness and an unwillingness to follow the will of the American people. In Washington, D.C., our so-called leaders have arrogantly decided it’s their way, and their way only, occasionally telling us their actions are in

Can ants save Earth from global warming?

New York - Ants may be cooling the Earth by helping trap carbon dioxide from the environment, a new study has claimed. A long-term experiment tracking the ants´ effects on soil suggests they cooled Earth´s climate as their numbers grew. "Ants are changing the environment," said lead study author Ronald Dorn, from the Arizona State University in Tempe. Certain ant species "weather" minerals in order to secrete calcium carbonate — better known as limestone. The process traps and removes a tiny bit of carbon dioxide gas from the atmosphere, Dorn said. This ant limestone factory is a small-scale version of the massive

Their assignment was to recruit young Cubans to anti-government activism, which they did under the guise of civic programs, including an HIV prevention workshop. Murillo was instructed to check in every 48 hours and was provided with a set of security codes. "I have a headache," for instance, meant the Costa Rican thought the Cubans were

That seems like an awfully strong word, but it is the term that distinguished law professor Glenn Reynolds, no hysteric, uses to describe the Obama administration’s oft-reported plan to issue executive amnesty to five or six million illegal immigrants in violation of federal law. Glenn’s characterization is a fair one. When a tyrant asserts the right to rule by decree in a state that has formerly been subject to the rule of law, he is commonly described as carrying out a coup d’etat. That is just what the Obama administration has done, and reportedly will continue to do. When Obama changed

President Barack Obama, she said, was concerned and frustrated by the ongoing violence despite efforts by Secretary of State John Kerry to broker a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. The obsession by the Obama-Kerry administration with imposing a cease-fire on the warring parties in the Hamas-Israel war will go down in history as one of the most strategic mistakes in military history. Here is a fact the administration deliberately and maliciously ignored: In the history of modern warfare, no terrorist group has ever honored a cease-fire. Hamas has broken every cease-fire it ever said it would honor. Every single one. Even the Israel-Hamas 2012 cease fire, brokered by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was simply agreed to by Hamas to give it an opportunity to restock its military arsenal, pressure Israel

Something rather dangerous is happening in American politics right now, all the more so for being taken for granted by many of the people watching it unfold. I do not mean the confusion of House Republicans, or the general gridlock in Congress, which are impeding legislative action on the child migrant crisis (among other matters). Incompetence and gridlock are significant problems, indeed severe ones, but they’re happening within the context of a constitutional system that allows for — and can survive — congressional inaction. Republicans believe that the deepening crisis in Gaza could ultimately loosen the grip that the Democratic Party has traditionally held upon American Jewish voters. While declarations of a rift between Democrats and the Jewish community have proven premature in the past, things could be different this time, they assert. Just in the last week, the Obama administration used unusually strong language to condemn the shelling of a United Nations-run school in Gaza, apparently by the Israeli military, and drafted a document for a cease-fire that Israeli officials denounced as favoring Hamas.
