C-SPAN Callers Advocate ‘White
Pride’: Black People Owe Us
a ‘Thank You’

Mediaite, by Andrew Kirell

Original Article

When C-SPAN’s Washington Journal invited viewers to weigh in on the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act, several callers phoned in to advocate for “white pride,” suggesting that black people owe an immense debt to white people; and that society ignores discrimination against white races like the Irish and Italians. Caller “Thomas” from Maryland explained to a straight-faced host Steve Scully that he is “much less liberal” now than he was during the 1964 passage of civil rights legislation. In the clip, originally flagged by TPM, the caller continued: I think the blacks have brought on most of their

Most American Black people should be thankful that their ancestors were brought here from Africa, giving them the chance to be born here. If that did not happen, and they were alive today in what would probably be some African village in the middle of the jungle, there would be zero opportunity to even see the modern world.

I know that I am glad that my ancestors took perilous journeys across the great oceans to come to the USA.

Refreshing to hear a white male speak the truth about who built America, and what blacks owe them instead of the whining demands and unprovoked violence they get.

Whenever I see Steve Scully I´m reminded of Shep Smith and Lindsey Graham. Don´t ask me why.

This is all I know: I am THANKFUL to God he deigned it that I would live in this world, in this country, at the time I got here. I am thankful to God for this great country. My ancestors survived great trials and adversity to live here, and they lived here LEGALLY. As far as I´m concerned, each and every person who is blessed enuf to live here, is blessed enuf. If some people stopped to count their blessings, and see the hand of God in things, they might stop complaining!!

Obama on the Island

Who wrote that no man is an island? English poet John Donne was wrong some 400 years ago. The president is seeking refuge and peace on Martha’s Vineyard off Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Long ago, the English sea captain who discovered and charted the graceful curving island named it for his daughter Martha. Ever since, its blue sky and water aura is calming and clear, kind to men with daughters. Barack Obama needs to heal from the cuts of Washington warfare. Actually, Obama is an island within an island now. He likes his own company. And he’s got briefing papers

Back when Al Gore was running for president in 2000 he had a line about “fighting for the people against the powerful.” It´s the standard line of the activist. No doubt it´s what the marginalized and dependent classes are looking for in a president. But if you are a responsible individual like me you find that sort of thing insulting. People of the Responsible Self don´t want some community organizer drilling them in a street protest; we just want a government that defends us from enemies foreign and domestic. Defending against enemies foreign and domestic is what governments are actually

In another day of fast-moving events, the FBI promised to investigate the killing of Michael Brown, 18, on Saturday by a Ferguson police officer. Brown’s parents called for an end to the violence while strongly disputing the police version of their son’s death. More than 1,000 people observed a moment of silence at a meeting called by the NAACP. Throughout the day, protesters continued to face off with police, and as

Bush, for the absence of American troops in Iraq and rejected the assertion that he could have left a small peacekeeping force in the war-torn nation. CHILMARK, Mass.— Foreign policy crises have a way of intruding on President Barack Obama´s Martha´s Vineyard vacations. Obama´s last three summer sojourns to this Massachusetts island have coincided with tumult primarily in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as elsewhere around the world. In 2011, the president´s golf outings and beach time were interrupted by briefings and calls to foreign leaders as opposition fighters in Libya gained against the government of Moammar Gadhafi. After skipping vacation while running for re-election in 2012, Obama returned to Martha´s Vineyard in 2013 for a trip that coincided with the Egyptian military´s

President Obama must really be teed off. Hillary Rodham Clinton, his once-loyal secretary of state and his likeliest successor, has gone rogue, criticizing his foreign policy as too timid. Obama responded with not one but two rounds of golf.
