New York radio host fired

A radio host for SiriusXM has been fired after he unleashed a shocking racist tirade on Twitter. Anthony Cumia, one half of The Opie & Anthony Show, called a black woman a ´c***´ and an ´animal b****´ on Wednesday after claiming she punched him in the face as he took photos in Times Square. On Friday, a spokesperson for SiriusXM said that the rant was ´abhorrent´ and ´wholly inconsistent with what SiriusXM represents´. ´SiriusXM has terminated its relationship with Anthony Cumia of the Opie & Anthony channel,´ Patrick Reilly said. ´The decision was made, and Cumia informed, late Thursday, July

Comments:
Radio "shock jock" is attacked in the street by an angry black woman and taunted by other Obama foot soldiers, complains about it in a salty way on Twitter, and is fired. This man and his cohost evidently complained at length on-air about Emperor Barry canceling their health plans, so the firing was only a matter of finding the right pretext.

United States of Postracial America, 2014. I want the old version back.

Mystery of how rocks move across
Death Valley lake bed solved

The cracking sounds were ferocious. An ankle-deep, frozen lake in Death Valley National Park was breaking apart under sunny skies. As cousins Richard Norris and James Norris watched, a light wind began moving huge floes of ice across the surface of the water and into rocks weighing up to 200 pounds. Propelled by the ice masses, the rocks began to slide across the slick, muddy bottom of the normally dry lake bed, known as the Racetrack playa. (Snip) Rocks of various heft – some weighing 600 pounds or more – leave trails that wiggle like snakes or form complete loops or even

France´s new government was dealt an early blow on Wednesday after a key gauge showed business optimism deteriorated in August. French factory confidence fell to its lowest level in more than a year in August, adding to signs that the economy may struggle to grow after a stagnant first half. A slump in retail trade also dragged down overall business optimism. INSEE, France´s statistics office, said manufacturing sentiment dipped to 96 in August, from 97 in July. This was its lowest level in 13 months, and well below the long-run average of 100. The overall index slipped to 91 in

More than 1,400 children were sexually abused during a period of over 16 years by gangs of paedophiles after police and council bosses turned a blind eye for fear of being labelled racist, a damning report has concluded. Senior officials were responsible for “blatant” failures that saw victims, some as young as 11, being treated with contempt and categorised as being “out of control” or simply ignored when they asked for help. In some cases, parents who tried to rescue their children from abusers were themselves arrested. Police officers even dismissed the rape of children by saying that sex had

This greatly reduces drag and allows it to travel at high speeds not possible by standard submarines.
