Obama welcomes new U.S. citizens,
vows to fix ‘broken’ immigration system

Facing a crisis of illegal immigration on the Mexican border, President Obama welcomed 25 new U.S. citizens at the White House Friday and pledged to take steps “to make our immigration system smarter and more efficient.” “If we want to keep attracting the best and the brightest from beyond our shores, we’re going to have fix our immigration system, which is broken, and pass common-sense immigration reform,” Mr. Obama said at an Independence Day naturalization ceremony for members of the U.S. armed forces and their spouses. The ceremony took place as the Obama administration struggles to deal with a surge

What was the average number of years these 25 new citizens had been working through the process of becoming a citizen? If it was more than 10 years, the manager of the process should be fired. Oops, he as President administers the entire program from visas, to entry, to asylum requests, to Immigration Court, to detention, and even to deportation.

"Best and brightest?" Did you get a look at those poor children that barry is exploiting for political purposes? He will burn in hell for this act alone. We haven´t seen the worst yet.

View the video interview of the Border Patrol agent elsewhere on this forum. That is how barry is really "fixing" the system.

Barry hates GWB but he has continued and exacerbated his policy of porous borders. A pox on both their houses.

Leftists LOVE that word "broken". They use it all the time for a program they want to remake in their divine image. Time to fight back, Alinsky-style. Demand that the "broken Obama Administration" must be fired. Demand that the Obama´s broken presidency has reached the point of irremediable failure. Demand that the broken Senate leadership resign. The broken school lunch program must be ended. The broken NLRB disbanded; the broken EPA overhauled. Etc. etc. etc.

Unaccompanied immigrant children apprehended at the border are being placed first in line to go before U.S. immigration judges under a new federal policy, prompting criticism from attorneys who say some immigrants have been given less than 48 hours to appear in court in states far from where they live.Faced with a surge of immigrants arriving illegally from Central America, immigration courts have begun realigning overloaded dockets to ensure unaccompanied minors get their first hearing before a judge within 21 days after Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials file a deportation case against them. Nearly 100 House lawmakers will petition the United Nations this week to formally designate Hamas’ rocket arsenal as “an impenetrable barrier to regional peace” and to make their removal from the Gaza Strip a “top priority,” according to a copy of the unsent letter obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. A bipartisan coalition of House lawmakers have already signed on to the letter, which will be sent later this week to U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. The letter comes as Hamas ignores all recent ceasefire agreements and continues to fire rockets at Israeli civilians, who have been seeking shelter from

Mrs. Clinton would earn 55% of the vote, with Mr. Romney at 42%.

You can understand President Obama´s current political problems -- and how those problems could make things very tough for his party in this fall´s midterm election -- in a single word. And that word is "competence". Obama was elected in 2008 on a stated promise that he would restore competence to government.
