War on Women: Record Number
Not in Labor Force in June

Breitbart Big Government, by Dr. Susan Berry

Original Article

While Democrats and the abortion industry would have women believe the most important reason to have a job is to get birth control for free, the real “war on women” is the fact that a record number of them were not working at all in June. According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the number of women 16 and older not in the labor force rose to a record high of 55,299,000 in June, says CNSNews. "This means that there were 55,299,000 women 16 and older who not only did not have a job, they did not

A couple of my friends gave up job hunting after about two years. Fortunately - they have savings/investments to sustain them.

I believe there´s a gold mine of votes for Republicans if they take a conservative message into the war. Especially single mothers. Most work. They want their kids to get a good education. A strong free market economy and school choice are important issues to them. They care more about whether their boyfriend can get and keep a job, not whether he can afford to buy condoms. The jobs market and stagnant wages should be the #1 issue when talking to women. Democrats have nothing.

That can happen when a minimum of 300,000 people/week lose their jobs and file for unemployment every week for almost six years. But they tell us unemployment is just barely over 6%. By the time of election 2014 I fully expect to see unemployment less than 6%.

I am so glad I grew up, starting in the 50´s, and starting my work career in 1962. I had fifty good years of working pretty much where I wanted and the bennies were wonderful. Now, not so much.

Vox: Pro-Life Movement Winning
Breitbart Big Journalism, by Dr. Susan Berry    Original Article

The left-wing online publication Vox finds the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in the Hobby Lobby case to be part of a “deeper trend” in a nation that has made an “unprecedented” turn to a pro-life stance. Writing at Vox, Sarah Kliff notes that, since 2010, “states have moved aggressively to restrict access to abortion and taken new steps to defund family planning programs. Advocates on both sides of the issue describe the wave of changes as unprecedented.” Also affirming the success of the pro-life movement is Elizabeth Nash of the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute. “Abortion access has changed dramatically,” said Nash,

Purlin In Anger: Arrest Breaks

A "knit-in" was broken up in South Burlington on Wednesday, after five women who are unhappy with a Vermont Gas pipeline plan occupied the utility´s waiting room — and occupied themselves by knitting. One woman was bound off by police, taken away in what says were five squad cars that responded to perhaps the most civil of all disobediences. The knitters insisted on speaking to Vermont Gas officials about their complaints over a pipeline expansion. They were told they needed an appointment; after the utility´s headquarters closed, they were warned that they were trespassing. Jane Palmer, a diminutive woman in a

If you think Catholics are less likely to serve the public interest than any other group of people, you are an intolerant bigot. When my phone flickered with the news that the Supreme Court had found in favor of Hobby Lobby on Monday, I knew exactly what the result would be. It was perfectly clear that the religion of the five Justices who found in favor of Hobby Lobby would be brought into question. It has happened before, both in the distant and recent past. In March, as the Supreme Court heard arguments on the case, Mother Jones had this

Mexico City - The Mexican government warned Friday that a vehicle containing radioactive material has been stolen, and issued a dire warning to the thieves against taking the potentially deadly material from its protective container. Federal civil defense officials said the vehicle had been transporting deadly iridium-192, a radioactive substance used in making some industrial products. The substance "can be dangerous for human health if removed from its container," the officials said in a statement, adding that the material can be lethal even if handled for only a brief time. The theft in Mexico state prompted officials to issue an

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) unveiled the commercial on Thursday on both sides of the border. According to ABC, the ads will be "dramatic, made in the telenovella fashion." President Barack Obama is fond of describing the deep inequality afflicting American society. And then he goes off to play golf. He´s getting near the 200-round mark for his entire presidency, a sporting feat perhaps worthy of Teddy Roosevelt for its sheer audacity. Golf is the most unequal sport in America, demanding expensive fees or country club memberships. Yet if the president plays it so often, golf must be inherently patriotic--right? So, while visiting Chicago, in the Fourth of July spirit, I recovered an old set of clubs from my parents´ garage and headed to the local par three. My

That being said, if you believe 60-year-old, Wesley Mark Terrell, then his dog was the president of the brand new Mensa canine chapter. On Wednesday in Oconee County, Georgia, police responded to a call reporting a dog locked in a car at a Bell´s food store on a day when the temperature outside reached 99 degrees. Sheriff Sgt. The fireworks have started early in New York City. Claiming they’re victims of an inferior education without representation, fed up students and parents have filed their declaration of independence from state and city officials who perpetuate a school system that keeps incompetent teachers in the classroom. Eleven city public students filed a class action lawsuit in Staten Island state Supreme Court seeking to throw out New York’s tenure and seniority laws that they allege protects bad teachers. “This lawsuit has to do with students’ rights and parents’ rights. We have to do away with the ‘students’ last’ policies.

This past week, Fox News, Megyn Kelly, and Dinesh D’Souza gave a platform to an entity that hates America and our way of life. Seems the prospect of smokin’ out a snake like Bill Ayers was too good to pass up. Getting an exclusive one-on-one with a crazy, violent communist with a small c was quite a coup for Kelly and D’Souza...or was it? Since lying and deceit generally benefit the liar, we have to ask, ”What was in it for Bill Ayers?” A mea culpa for past crimes? Hardly. After listening to Ayers, we must conclude: once a psychopath, always a psychopath.

Maybe we’ve been conned. There’s a growing recognition that Barack Obama is an incompetent poser, working out of his depth, and his administration is the gang that can’t shoot straight. There’s a lot of evidence to support that belief. Everything he touches becomes a bloody mess, like crushed bones and bits of flesh caught in the tracks of a tank slicing through a rank of soldiers (or civilians). Iraq, Syria, Egypt — all gone, as prospects for countries with a prosperous and democratic future. Hillary Clinton reportedly makes roughly $200,000 for each speaking engagement. And recent reports show

Two spirit is an Aboriginal term which means having both feminine and masculine spirits. It´s not limited to gender expression or sexuality, but encompasses them both while incorporating a spiritual element. It´s a standalone identity, not an Aboriginal term for gay lesbian. President Obama has, except on fleeting occasions, routinely disdained the customary Oval Office language of compromise and coalition-building for the low arts of sophistry and belittlement. That was to be expected, given his background as a Chicago community organizer and product of that city´s corrupt Democrat political machine. But Obama has far exceeded dismal expectations. No previous American president employed the systematic distortion of fact and mendacious characterization of opponents that have typified Obama´s presidency. His "so sue me" speech last week is a classic illustration of the community organizer practicing Saul Alinsky´s 13th rule: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize

Hillary Clinton, still unwilling to acknowledge her and her boss’s failure to accurately assess the threats from al-Qaeda and the spread of jihaists into Libya, stubbornly insists we really don’t know why the jihadists attacked and killed our people. Oh, puhleez. While not a supporter of civilian trials for enemy combatants, I must admit there is something satisfying about the prosecution’s version of events laid out for all to see. The United States added a stunning 288,000 jobs last month, sending the unemployment rate down to 6.1 percent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average shooting over 17,000 for the first time. June’s job numbers marked the fifth straight month of job gains over 200,000, the best stretch since the 1990s tech boom. A Bloomberg survey of economists expected an increase of 215,000 jobs in June. The unemployment rate dropped .2 percent to 6.1, the lowest since September 2008. May’s job report was also revised upward, showing 224,000 jobs added. The numbers follow strong reports for the Bay State last month, with

The headline of today’s jobs report, that 288,000 jobs were created in the last month, is positive. At least, it is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. However, as with most economic reports these days, there is a veneer of good news — but when you look closer, the White House is using the positive headlines to hide the growing deterioration of the American workforce. I’m sure by now people are tired of reading about the bad news, and I’ll admit I am weary of having to blow the whistle and expose the truth every
