Feds Declare Mouse Endangered,
Family Might Lose Everything

Daily Caller, by Jonah Bennett

A family’s livestock enterprise in New Mexico is in danger of being completely shut down now that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has declared the meadow jumping mouse to be an endangered species, Watchdog reports. The new regulations came into effect from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service last month, and as a result, the U.S. Forest Service is considering installing 8-foot high fences to protect the mouse, which would permanently prevent the Lucero family’s livestock from grazing. The family is already in possession of grazing permits from the federal government, but the permits become irrelevant in the event that a

Every day there is a story that is more outrageous than the last. I don´t know how we ever clean out the agencies that are filled with anti-American radicals who are day by day removing our freedoms. They know they are there to do the evil will of their Supreme Leader Obama and they are accomplishing it every turn.

In aerospace engineering, there is a rule: a human life is worth $2m. Sounds callous, but it allows an engineer to decide if a safety enhancement is "worth it". If it costs more than $2m per life saved, it´s too expensive.

I have never understood why government regulations don´t have a similar rule - - what is the cost versus the expected benefit? A mouse no one cares about, versus a family´s ranch?

Put that 8-foot fence along the border where it belongs, topped with razor wire. Step by step, this communist regime is destroying America.

Obama has knowingly made enemies out of millions of Americans,a lot of times over petty gripes or make a whacko sub group happy.Farmers would be a bigger enemy of Obama if not for ethanol producers. Now he´s making life hell for ranchers for no apparent reason. It could be something as stupid as cattle contributing to global warming.

The coldest recorded year was 1930 something but doesn´t stop these fools from claiming the earth could explode from heat anytime. Forget about record amounts of sea ice.

No ordinary complaints about the Redskins name and merchandise but they have to be forced out by a low level gov´t agency who is there to protect trademark rights, not demolish them.

Huh.
It´s interesting that the federal government is convinced that an impenetrable eight foot fence will protect the homes of field mice yet it remains an impossibility to build any kind of fence that will help to protect the country.

Now, rodents will find no bigger fan than myself; we have two pet rats, Patty and Selma, who are the darlings of our family. Yet I still find the setting aside of pastureland to protect a mouse (cute though the little guy may be) absurd. My experience with rodents both as pets and in the lab make me believe that the mouse would not only be undisturbed by the presence of cattle, but that the water supply needed by the cows, plus bits of scattered cattle feed and the meadow fertilizer supplied by the bovines would actually be a boon to the mice, and the population would actually increase. This can´t really be about protecting the mice: it´s about establishing Goverment suzerainty.

By "saving" the mouse they will only prevent evolution from running it´s natural course.

My educated guess is that the large alternative energy programs on federal lands in Arizona and New Mexico are having a negative impact on some species. This in turn is requiring remediation. The only available for remediation is grazing lands already leased to ranchers grazing the land for decades. So an endangered mouse is created to take the grazing rights.

A far smarter alternative would be in cases where the species can coexist on the land would be to charge the remediators a land use fee which in turn goes to the grazers to allow minor modifications for the jumping mice. Tyrants do concern themselves with rights of the people.

Shame on you #1 for expecting sanity and reason from our government!

The mouse has survived pretty well all these years. Maybe the little creep has adapted to his surroundings and the livestock are important to his survival. Maybe the livestock scare off other predators. If I was the rancher I´d let loose a dozen or so hungry, feral cats. Ooops! No more mouse.

The mouse is not the point, shutting down the farmers and ranchers is. Just as he is doing with the energy industry, obama is first shutting down and imposing government control over everything that allows people to be independent. Next will come re-education camps and collective farms and industry run by good little communist workers who love their master in Washington. That´s the plan. It´s up to us to stop him. Keep the powder dry.

Grand jurors charged Perry, 63, with abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony, and coercion of a public official. For exercising his constitutional prerogative by threatening to veto, and then vetoing, an appropriation to support the public corruption unit in Travis County’s district attorney’s office. This followed the arrest of the county’s district attorney, Democratic Party activist Rosemary Lehmberg, for drunk driving, after she was found “with an open bottle of vodka in the front passenger seat of her car in a church parking lot in Austin.” Ms. Lehmberg served 45 days in jail. The Travis County district attorney’s office has long been a cesspool of corruption.

The scandal that erupted Friday night involved millions of dollars, statehouse power plays—oh yeah, and alcohol, police, and masks. Texas Governor Rick Perry was indicted Friday on charges of abuse of power—a first degree felony—and coercion—a third degree felony. The charges stem from a 2013 scandal that has been quietly rumbling in the Lone Star State as Perry has been floated as a viable contender for the Republican nomination in 2016. This is a complex case, which might be why it has not made national headlines the way other recent, state-level scandals (like Bridgegate, in New Jersey) have. Below, I have outlined
