These patriotic beers help define
what makes America great

Boston Herald, by Kerry Byrne

Original Article

The United States is the world’s greatest beer-making nation, with more breweries turning out more beer styles than any country on Earth. We’ve been drinking beer since the very beginning. The Pilgrims settled in Plymouth because “our victuals (are) much spent, especially our beere,” according to a diary entry written aboard the Mayflower. The American Revolution, meanwhile, was famously fermented by brewers such as Samuel Adams. So to honor Independence Day, we compiled a list of the 10 most patriotic beers in Boston. Our beers are ranked by quality, impact and the very top secret Boston Herald Patriotism Quotient. 10. Yuengling

I lost all respect for Boston when I saw people lining the street to applaud the very cops that had just illegally ordered them out of their own homes at gunpoint during the marathon bombing incident.

"The United States is the world’s greatest beer-making nation"? Mmm, I have to differ. Though I do like American beers, and they´ve improved markedly over the last decade, as a home brewer for 30 years, and a resident of Belgium for the last 25, I must disagree! Both in complexity and variety of taste, American beer, while quite competent these days - even craft beer - has a sameness to it that immediately betrays its American origins. Belgium is a country that would fit comfortably back in my home state of Texas between Houston and an Austin longways, yet this postage-stamp country has 800 breweries and over three thousand different varieties of beer. American brewers are getting there, but they still have a ways to go.

I quit drinking it when "Samuel Adams, the beer company, caused a Yankee Doodle dust-up on the Fourth of July when it aired its new commercial featuring an actor paraphrasing the Declaration of Independence but leaving God out of the quote." They also pulled out of the St. Patrick’s Day parade in South Boston because gays weren´t allowed to march. So screw them I´ll spend my money else where. The people in Massachusettes are all pc leftists.

There is no need to drink Boston beer in a place where you can get Shiner.

A Broadway-styled musical play has gone down to disastrous failure both critically and from audiences, despite having been funded by tax dollars to push global warming. "The Great Immensity," was just as advertised; immense. Not just an immense bomb, but according to one Congressman an immense waste of the $700,000 in tax dollars spent to float the production. The play opened in New York and was then supposed to go on tour across the United States, but the production fell apart after one appearance in Kansas. (Video)Friday during the White House press briefing, National Security Advisor Susan Rice abruptly left in the middle of a question after confusing reporters with her announcement President Barack Obama was going ahead with air strikes in Syria. When reporters began to grill Rice about whether the president had already given the authorization to the militarily to bomb in Syria, Rice kept repeating they would not be releasing information on the timing of those air strikes. Reporters continued to push with several trying to explain their question is if the president has already given authorization. Laughing uncomfortably Rice exited the room

On Thursday In a session with the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Secretary of State John Kerry was asked by Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) whether America was at war in Iraq and Syria. Devastating. That´s really the only way to describe Politico´s piece on DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. (I hereby nominate her for Worst Week in Washington.) (Editor´s note: Three words -- Joseph. Robinette. Biden.) Based on interviews with DNC staffers -- both former and current -- the piece described Wasserman Schultz as something of a modern-day Tracy Flick: over-eager, disloyal and not shy about promoting her ambitions. It would be fair to say that she sounds like, well, a lot like other politicians. And this would be accurate.
