Dispute over religious faith sparks
spat in Arkansas Senate race

Washington Examiner (DC), by Rebecca Berg

Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor´s campaign demanded an apology Wednesday from Republican Rep. Tom Cotton after he questioned the depth of Pryor´s religious faith. In an interview Tuesday with a Fayetteville, Ark., radio station, Cotton was asked about the Supreme´s Court decision to allow some businesses to opt out of health coverage for contraceptives, citing religious freedoms. "Barack Obama and Mark Pryor think that faith is only something that happens at 11 o´clock on Sunday mornings," Cotton said. "That´s when we worship, but faith is what we live every single day."

Isn´t this the same Senator Pryor (D-political family legacy) who complained that Mr. Cotton felt "entitled" to Pryor´s seat in the Senate because of Cotton´s military service?

Oh, and the other thing.

The only thing Barack Obama, may his name be praised and his word be law (just practicing for the thought police) thinks about at 11 am Sunday morning is where he´s going to play golf.

And a lot of us go to church long before 11 am Sunday.

Cotton campaign spokesperson David Ray sent a statement to Channel 7 News from Cotton in response to the backlash.

"Senator Pryor is a man of faith and practices it with commendable openness, which I respect, but I wish he would respect Arkansans´ right to practice our faith. Instead, Senator Pryor and President Obama still defend Obamacare even after the Supreme Court said it violated freedom of religion. Senator Pryor supports taxpayer-funded abortion and late-term abortion and would force Christians to pay for abortions despite their deeply held religious beliefs. That´s a real attack on faith," Cotton said.

Congressman Cotton should not apologize for what he said. He didn´t question Pryor´s belief in Christ.

Pryor, who put out a Christmas ad about his faith, is the one that has made his faith a political issue for the very reason Cotton mentions in this statement.

Obama’s Speech To The American

It wasn’t exactly the roaring, adoring, campaign-style crowd President Barack Obama is accustomed to. On Tuesday, the president spoke to the American Legion’s national convention, facing a crowd of veterans deeply concerned about widespread corruption at the Veterans Administration and the resultant deaths of some veterans awaiting health care. So when Obama began by lecturing the veterans about cynicism and explaining his most recent foreign policy choices — instead of addressing the VA crisis — the audience clearly wasn’t pleased. Fox News cameras captured a sea of blank or frowning faces looking silently back at the president as he paused

FALFURRIAS, Texas — Two more bodies of illegal immigrants were discovered in a rural Texas county -- bringing the year total for the one county to 48 known deaths. A 9-1-1 call to the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office led to the discovery. Brooks County surrounds Falfurrias, Texas, which is approximately 80-90 miles from the Texas border with Mexico. The 9-1-1 call was made by an illegal alien who survived after regaining cell phone coverage in mile one of the nearly seventeen mile journey that the, now deceased, illegal immigrants were making to sneak around a Border Patrol checkpoint. American black people are being lied to and the lies destroy them. They are being lied to by corrupt people like Attorney General Eric Holder and Al Sharpton Jr. and Jesse Jackson and the leftists in our news media. They are being told that their poverty is due to prejudice and that the police are targeting them out of bigotry. They are being told that the dreadful existence of slum life grew out of slavery and is being perpetuated by hatred. None of this is true. Poor black people are poor because they have no family structure and get little education.

When a federal appeals court ruled last month that a seemingly arcane wording flaw in the Affordable Care Act should invalidate a central part of the law, many of those who drafted the statute five years ago reacted with shock and anger. In 2009, they had spent months piecing together a compromise that sought to create a national system of subsidized insurance — but one run by the states. Now, they fear their work could be undone by what some call a "drafting error" and others portray as a political miscalculation. The judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals for

Amid the hysteria over the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., it might be lost that most black and white Americans believe they’re not out to get each other. A new Pew Research survey shows that 75 percent of whites and 64 percent of blacks say their groups get along together “pretty well” if not “very well.” It’s a bleaker view for Hispanics, 53 percent of whom say the same.
