Republicans Turn to Lazard
Banker to Topple Al Franken

Bloomberg News, by Craig Giammona & Kathleen Hunter

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 7/3/2014 8:56:05 PM

Investment banker Mike McFadden wants to trade a career at Lazard Ltd. for one in politics and is making his finance background a chief argument for unseating U.S. Senator Al Franken in Minnesota. (Snip) “Senator Franken and the Democrats have no idea what I do,” McFadden said in an interview when asked whether his 20-year career in investment banking could be turned into a political liability. “They don’t have a clue, just like they don’t have any idea how to run this economy.” Republicans need a net gain of six seats in November’s election to take control of the Senate. Franken’s seat has been viewed as safe for Democrats --

Comments:
Besides Franken being a shameless "dumbass," McFadden is smart enough to say to the voters, "It´s the ECONOMY, stupid." Maybe that will lead to a plus gain and win as Brat pulled off with his naysayers.

Replacing Franken with a GOP candidate is like exchanging a terrorist for a ballerina.

Only the Tea Party supplies principled fighters.

Ballerinas just spin around, get nowhere and say, "aren´t I pretty?".

Another thing worrisome about McFadden here in MN is that during the campaign a few months ago, he was always "too busy" to appear before tea party groups or grant interviews. Add that to the fact that he has been financially supported by the Republican establishment makes one wonder just what/who the GOP´ers are putting forward here. On the other hand, a Minnesota crappie would be better in that office than crapper we got now.

So being an investment banker is a liability, but making jokes on a show that should have been cancelled 20 years ago isn´t?

McFadden´s biggest problem is that there is no shortage of political half-wits in Minnesota.

These are the folks who also elected Jesse Ventura and Kieth Ellison along with Franken.
Walter Mondale to Hubert Hoooomphrey, the list is a long one of socialist losers.

Al Franken has the Wall St. end covered with his pal George Soros who´s the main reason Franken won. As to GOP E candidates, interesting that a poster says the GOP E Minnesota candidate has at times been too busy to talk to groups. This has become the standard GOP E candidate over several decades. We find ourselves literally begging the guy to act like he wants to win. They win by letting the democrat win. The famous GOP donor class wasn´t mad that Karl Rove lost 11 Senate races in 2012. Beating democrats wasn´t the goal. Mississippi made it clear if it needed to be that the GOP E are worse subhumans than democrats. Democrats at least they admit what they are.

Franken got into the Senate by fraud the first time (miracle ballots discovered in car trunks and never ending recounts to get the results demonrats wanted). What makes anyone think fraud wouldn´t get him there during reelection time (by computer count fraud)?

Former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton responded Tuesday to Sen. Marco Rubio´s charge that she is a "20th century candidate," suggesting that all elections are about what´s next. Paris - Undeterred by criticism from his European allies, French President François Hollande said today he would proceed with the controversial sale of a warship to Russia, but may reconsider the sale of a second ship. European Union foreign ministers met today in Brussels to discuss greater sanctions on Russia over the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. It’s the first gathering of the 28-member bloc since the downing of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17, allegedly by pro-Russia rebels in Ukraine. Fruits and vegetables are good for your health, but there´s not enough evidence to prove that on their own they can help with weight loss. The research, published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, reviewed studies that looked at fruit and vegetable consumption and weight gain, and concluded that simply eating more doesn’t doesn’t slim waistlines. Loading up on more fruits and vegetables, without taking out more high-calorie foods like junk food, or making other lifestyle changes such as exercising, won’t have a significant affect on weight. And that’s especially true if the veggies are fried or coated in butter or cheese.

Citing Maryland’s recently enacted firearm laws and the prospect of more restrictions, the U.S. arm of legendary Italian gunmaker Beretta announced Tuesday that it would move its manufacturing operations to Tennessee next year. The move makes Beretta the latest maker of guns or ammunition to move all or part of its operations to another state because of tightened gun control laws. General Manager Jeff Cooper said an early version of a statute passed last year by the Maryland state Senate would have prohibited the company from manufacturing or storing products in the state. “While we were able in the Maryland House of Delegates to

Businessman David Perdue stunned Georgia’s Republican political establishment Tuesday by capturing the party’s U.S. Senate nomination in his first run for office. The former CEO of Reebok and Dollar General toppled 11-term Rep. Jack Kingston by a narrow margin, setting up a battle of political newcomers with famous kin in the fall. Perdue’s cousin, Sonny, was a two-term governor and Nunn’s father, Sam, was a four-term U.S. Senator. In addition to his famous last name and lingering political network from his cousin, Perdue deployed $3 million of his own money to back his bid. Still, he was outspent by Kingston and allied Super PACs –

There were only a few ways Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) could react to HBO’s “True Blood” portrayal of Texas Republicans being murdered at a fictitious Cruz fundraiser. He could have ignored it, or laughed it off. But he went political. A scene in Sunday’s episode took place at the George W. Bush Presidential Library, where a Cruz function was being held. The vampires who went made disparaging comments about the Republicans in attendance (What do you expect? It’s Hollywood.) and then there was a vicious bloodbath. Dallas County Health and Human Services confirmed Tuesday the first case of imported Chikungunya virus in Dallas County this year. New York - Chrysler recalled about 792,000 older SUVs Tuesday for ignition switch problems. The flaw affects Jeep Commanders from model years 2006-2007 and Jeep Grand Cherokees from 2005-2007. The issue is linked to one accident, but the company is unaware of any related injuries. The problem can cause the ignition key to move out of the "on" position while the car is being driven, usually because it was bumped by a driver´s knee, the company said in a statement. That could cause the engine to stall and the front airbags to stop working. Problems with ignition switches have been found in millions of vehicles recalled this year.

A pernicious, little-known Obama administration policy – one that that incentivizes adult illegal immigrants to use children as human shields to escape arrest and deportation at the border – largely has escaped the media’s notice. This same policy is driving the historic surge of children at the border, as everyone from coyotes to illegal immigrant adults already in America seeks to use children to guarantee their safe passage into the country, or to protect them from deportation if they are illegally living here. The flood of illegal immigrant children, piling up like human debris on the US border, won’t stop

In a potentially crippling blow to Obamacare, a federal appeals court panel declared Tuesday that government subsidies worth billions of dollars that helped 4.7 million people buy insurance on HealthCare.gov are illegal. The 2-1 ruling said such subsidies can be granted only to people who bought insurance in an Obamacare exchange run by an individual state or the District of Columbia—not on the federally run exchange HealthCare.gov. "Section 36B plainly makes subsidies available in the Exchanges established by states," wrote Senior Circuit Judge Raymond Randolph in his majority opinion, where he was joined by Judge Thomas Griffith.
