Republicans Turn to Lazard
Banker to Topple Al Franken

Bloomberg News, by Craig Giammona & Kathleen Hunter

Original Article

Investment banker Mike McFadden wants to trade a career at Lazard Ltd. for one in politics and is making his finance background a chief argument for unseating U.S. Senator Al Franken in Minnesota. (Snip) “Senator Franken and the Democrats have no idea what I do,” McFadden said in an interview when asked whether his 20-year career in investment banking could be turned into a political liability. “They don’t have a clue, just like they don’t have any idea how to run this economy.” Republicans need a net gain of six seats in November’s election to take control of the Senate. Franken’s seat has been viewed as safe for Democrats --

Comments:
Besides Franken being a shameless "dumbass," McFadden is smart enough to say to the voters, "It´s the ECONOMY, stupid." Maybe that will lead to a plus gain and win as Brat pulled off with his naysayers.

Replacing Franken with a GOP candidate is like exchanging a terrorist for a ballerina.

Only the Tea Party supplies principled fighters.

Ballerinas just spin around, get nowhere and say, "aren´t I pretty?".

Another thing worrisome about McFadden here in MN is that during the campaign a few months ago, he was always "too busy" to appear before tea party groups or grant interviews. Add that to the fact that he has been financially supported by the Republican establishment makes one wonder just what/who the GOP´ers are putting forward here. On the other hand, a Minnesota crappie would be better in that office than crapper we got now.

So being an investment banker is a liability, but making jokes on a show that should have been cancelled 20 years ago isn´t?

McFadden´s biggest problem is that there is no shortage of political half-wits in Minnesota.

These are the folks who also elected Jesse Ventura and Kieth Ellison along with Franken.
Walter Mondale to Hubert Hoooomphrey, the list is a long one of socialist losers.

Al Franken has the Wall St. end covered with his pal George Soros who´s the main reason Franken won. As to GOP E candidates, interesting that a poster says the GOP E Minnesota candidate has at times been too busy to talk to groups. This has become the standard GOP E candidate over several decades. We find ourselves literally begging the guy to act like he wants to win. They win by letting the democrat win. The famous GOP donor class wasn´t mad that Karl Rove lost 11 Senate races in 2012. Beating democrats wasn´t the goal. Mississippi made it clear if it needed to be that the GOP E are worse subhumans than democrats. Democrats at least they admit what they are.

Franken got into the Senate by fraud the first time (miracle ballots discovered in car trunks and never ending recounts to get the results demonrats wanted). What makes anyone think fraud wouldn´t get him there during reelection time (by computer count fraud)?

Hillary Clinton called President Barack Obama on Tuesday to “make sure he knows that nothing she said was an attempt to attack him” when she recently discussed her views on foreign policy in an interview with The Atlantic, according to a statement from a Clinton spokesman. Geneva - The World Health Organization authorised Tuesday the use of experimental drugs to fight Ebola as the death toll topped 1,000 and a Spanish priest became the first European to succumb to the latest outbreak. The declaration by the UN´s health agency came after a US company that makes an experimental serum called ZMapp said it had sent all its available supplies to hard-hit west Africa. "In the special circumstances of this Ebola outbreak it is ethical to offer unregistered interventions as potential treatments or prevention," WHO assistant director general Marie-Paule Kieny told reporters in Geneva, following a meeting

The Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday finalized a $26-million legal settlement to end a lawsuit over a ban on lunchtime naps by trash-truck drivers. The expenditure, approved on a 9-2 vote, resolves a class-action lawsuit involving nearly 1,100 sanitation workers who said they were improperly barred from sleeping and engaging in other activities during their meal breaks. The Times reported in February that the council had endorsed the settlement. Councilman Paul Krekorian, who supported the payment, said the settlement was not publicly announced earlier this year because it was not final and needed the approval of a judge.

Baghdad - After two days of defiant speeches and special security units deployed in the Iraqi capital, raising the specter of a coup, Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki appeared to back away on Tuesday from his implied threat to use force to stay in power, issuing a statement saying that the army should stay out of politics. Mr. Maliki had reacted angrily on Monday to the Iraqi president’s decision to nominate a different Shiite political figure to be prime minister in his place. He had decried the step as unconstitutional, threatened court action and complained that the United States was scheming to oust him. But he appeared to soften his

The jets will carry out surveillance ahead of further airdrops as the UN warned tens of thousands were trapped. It comes as Islamic State (IS) fighters seized areas of Iraq, with reports of the slaughter of religious minorities. Among those reportedly being targeted by the jihadists are Iraqi Christians and members of the Yazidi religious sect.

The Obama administration broke the law when it released thousands of illegal immigrants, more than 600 of whom had criminal records, last February as a result of poor planning and micromanagement from Washington, according to an internal audit released Tuesday that says things have not improved in the 18 months since.
