Obama Talks Up Rosy Jobs Numbers
and ‘Economic Patriotism’

ABC News, by Jon Garcia

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 7/3/2014 2:51:23 PM

President Obama made an unscheduled trip to a D.C.-based tech start-up to cheer about the rosy jobs numbers released this morning and promote his economic strategy. “We have made enormous strides, thanks to the incredible hard work of the American people and American businesses that have been out there competing, getting smarter, getting more effective. And it’s making a difference all across the country,” Obama told workers at “1776,” which the White House describes as a “global hub” to help start-up companies. The government reported today that 288,000 jobs were created last month and that the unemployment rate dropped to 6.1%

If the jobs numbers really did reach that high, I´m betting it´s because those with money to hire or start new businesses are betting that conservatives will win the House and Senate in November and Obama´s power will be cut.

Simple mathematics (something alien to the right-hemisphere dominant liberal):

# of Americans 16yoa and above out of work (and haven´t looked for work in the last 4 weeks) = 92,120,000.

ref.: http://cnsnews.com/news/article/ali-meyer/record-number-americans-not-labor-force-june

Population of the USA: 318,269,360.

ref: http://www.census.gov/popclock/

[92,120,000/318,269,360][100] = 28.94% unemployment.

Math class dismissed.

Krauthammer hasn´t been "the same" for a couple of years now.

Today´s numbers were weak, because July 1 is a deadline for computing corporate Obamacare requirements as of Jan 1 2015, apparently 500,000 permanent jobs were smashed and divided up into 799,000 temporary jobs. And 111,000 more people fell out of the participation rolls entirely. The "net" of plus 288,000 is nonsense. But pretty much everything Obama says is nonsense, and he sure doesn´t do numbers.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A tea party attempt to overcome a mainstream Republican came up short in Alaska as former state Attorney General Dan Sullivan won the GOP primary to become his party’s candidate to take on U.S. Sen. Mark Begich in the fall. Sullivan entered the primary the presumed front-runner, with the backing of national GOP powerbrokers and a huge cash advantage over his rivals. Sullivan on Tuesday night bested tea party favorite Joe Miller, who made a late push reminiscent to his 2010 primary upset of U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski. Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell, meanwhile, was third. 109,631,000 Americans lived in households that received benefits from one or more federally funded "means-tested programs" — also known as welfare — as of the fourth quarter of 2012, according to data released Tuesday by the Census Bureau. The Census Bureau has not yet reported how many were on welfare in 2013 or the first two quarters of 2014. But the 109,631,000 living in households taking federal welfare benefits as of the end of 2012, according to the Census Bureau, equaled 35.4 percent of all 309,467,000 people living in the United States at that time. FERGUSON, Mo. — As a county grand jury prepared to hear evidence on Wednesday in the shooting death of a black teenager by a white police officer that touched off 10 days of unrest here, witnesses have given investigators sharply conflicting accounts of the killing. Some of the accounts seem to agree on how the fatal altercation initially unfolded: with a struggle between the officer, Darren Wilson, and the teenager, Michael Brown. Officer Wilson was inside his patrol car at the time, while Mr. Brown, who was unarmed, was leaning in through an open window. Many witnesses also agreed on

Barack Obama’s presidency isn’t just shrinking, it’s losing support among its most critical point — its base. Less than two years ago, Barack Obama became the first Democratic president since FDR to win re-election with a popular-vote majority. Since then, his support has dropped dramatically — not just overall, but among important constituent groups. Comparing 2012 exit poll results with an Aug. 8 McClatchy-Marist nationwide poll shows how far Mr. Obama has fallen with various segments of the population. In 2012, Mr. Obama won among women 55 percent to 44 percent. Today, his approval rating among women is 41 percent, with
