America on alert over ´plot to bring down

Terrorist groups are working on a bomb that can make it through airport security undetected, it is feared. The Department of Homeland Security is demanding increased security at overseas airports linking to America after indications of a joint plot between groups in Yemen and Syria. U.S. officials were reported to be concerned about the al-Qa’ida-affiliate group the Al Nusrah Front in Syria, which they said has teamed up with Yemen-based Al Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula That latter group was behind the ´underwear bomb´ which failed to detonate in a plane over Detroit in 2009. Now it is feared they

We all know what needs to be done. They should employ the same tactics as those used in Israel. Of course the Obama regime would never do anything that even resembles something Israel does because of their abhorrence of that country. In addition, it would be horribly politically incorrect. What heinous things will Obama and his regime dream up? Strip and body cavity searches?

He thinks it will take our attention off illegal immigration. And if that doesn´t work, he´ll go to Plan B, and so on.

With regard to more stringent security requested for US departures from the UK, it sounds a bit more dramatic than the tone of the following snip from the UK Telegraph yesterday, July 2.

The beefed up security will fuel fears of massive queues at airports over the summer although the Department for Transport said the extra measures - which have not been disclosed - were not expected to cause "significant disruption" and noted that the official UK threat status remained unchanged.

Keep calm and carry on, y´all.

House GOP Leadership Bill

The language of the legislation that House GOP leadership will offer a vote on to win over conservatives on a border crisis bill contains significant differences from language Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) introduced a couple weeks ago. The original Cruz-Blackburn legislation prohibited the government from spending funds on issuing any new applications under the Deferred Action for Childhood Releases (DACA) program, as well as issuing any work permits to individuals in the country illegally. The new legislation prohibits the government from issuing “guidance, memorandums, regulations, policies, or other similar instruments” that would expand the scope

If the House’s supplemental border bill were to make it to President Obama’s desk, Obama senior advisors would urge him to veto it. In a statement of administration policy, the Office of Management and Budget said it “strongly opposes House passage of H.R. 5230,” charging that the legislation would make the border crisis worse. “Republicans have had more than a year to comprehensively fix the nation´s broken immigration system, but instead of working toward a real, lasting solution, Republicans released patchwork legislation that will only put more arbitrary and unrealistic demands on an already broken system,” the statement read. President Obama is following through with a threat to issue more executive actions, not fewer, one day after House Republicans moved forward with their lawsuit challenging the president’s unilateral policy-making. White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said on Thursday Obama would issue an executive order aimed at “cracking down on federal contractors who put workers’ safety and heard-earned pay at risk.” Pfeiffer made the statement in an email sent to supporters blasting the GOP-led House for wasting valuable legislative time this week by holding the vote on the lawsuit, which passed the House 225-201, with only Republicans voting in favor. “This is

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department and police officials across the nation are directing their agencies to deal with thousands of children who are left behind following the arrests of parents, from surprise raids at family homes to roadside traffic stops. Few law enforcement agencies have policies that specifically address the continuing care of children after such arrests, despite an estimated 1.7 million children who have at least one parent in prison, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics. The number of children jumps to about 2.7 million when parents detained in local jails are included. "This is one of those situations whose

When it comes to judging someone’s political ideology, many people and pundits end up arguing about labels and characterizations rather than the facts and the objective record. For example, I recall recently reading about someone who attended a Ready for Hillary meeting in Iowa who declared his concern about Hillary Clinton being a “corporatist.” A few recent articles refer to Clinton as a “centrist” or not a genuine “populist,” words meaning different things to different people. Fortunately, polling data show that most people make their judgments based on facts, not labels. When it comes to judging someone’s political ideology,

Israel unleashed its heaviest bombardment in its three-week-old campaign against Hamas in Gaza on Tuesday as the Obama administration battled the growing perception among Israelis that Secretary of State John F. The shadowy leader of the Hamas military wing said his group will not cease fire until an economic embargo is ended and other demands are met. President Obama demanded that Israel agree to a one-sided cease-fire during a heated phone conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to a report aired on Israeli TV Tuesday.
