Biden: Don’t forget about me
The Hill, by Amie Parnes

Original Article

Vice President Biden is doing everything he can to make sure people don’t forget that it’s not just Hillary Clinton who has an interest in the White House in 2016. He does, too. After Clinton struggled to contain criticism of her lofty personal finances, there was Biden last week, highlighting his every-man status. I don’t own a single stock or bond,” Biden said at a White House summit on working families last week. “I have no savings account.” While numerous news reports later sought to disprove that fact — 2013 filings show Biden has a joint savings account with holdings

Comments:
He´ll be 74 in 2016, and doesn´t sound very fiscally responsible.

Hillary will be 70. Don´t the Dems have anyone younger?

I think Joe has the mistaken idea that because he is the gaffe-prone crazy old uncle everyone tolerates because he makes them laugh that means that image will translate into votes.

MADRID: Tens of thousands of people gathered in Madrid on Saturday to witness the beatification of an early leader of the Roman Catholic organization Opus Dei. At a large outdoor mass, Cardinal Angelo Amato began the process that will confirm Alvaro del Portillo as a saint. Del Portillo succeeded Opus Dei´s founder, St. Josemaria Escriva de Balaguer, as leader of the organization. Opus Dei, once considered a secretive, right-wing, cult-like group that curried high favor within the church, has been trying to foster a friendlier image in recent years. The eruption continued into the night, blanketing the surrounding area in ash. More than 250 people were stuck on the slopes for hours, many taking refuge in mountain lodges that dot the way up.

Paul Krugman’s latest dispatch bemoans the penchant of the rich to live in vast mansions with lots of servants. It would be unremarkable save for the glimpse it provides into the lack of self-awareness on the left. Mr. Krugman reckons that we are seeing a resurgence of elite ostentation. This seems to have been touched off by his reading an article from a long ago Fortune magazine about how executives lived in the 1950s. It turns out, he writes, that “the lives of an earlier generation’s elite were, indeed, far more restrained, more seemly if you like, than those of

Of all the malfeasances of William Jefferson Clinton the one that would have most justified a removal from office was not the Monica hijinks, even with the attendant lying under oath and absurd parsings of the word “is,” but the pardoning of Marc Rich — the billionaire international commodities trader and mammoth contributor to, er, Clinton. Not this time. The U.S.-led air campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria doesn´t have a name. "I know of no plans at this point to name it," Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby said Thursday. Since World War II, almost every U.S. military operation, large and small, has had a code name.
