Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has taken her book tour abroad. But in an interview with the BBC, when answering a question about how specialness of the special relationship between the U.S. and UK, the nation´s former top diplomat gets the names of the political parties in the UK wrong. The BBC host asked, "So how special is the special relationship?" "It is so special to me, personally, and I think it is very special between our countries," Clinton said. The Beast tweets that she´s taking the book tour across the pond? She´d be doing our British friends a HUGE favor if the bomb bay doors of her private jet opened up and dropped all 300,000 copies of that unreadable doorstop into the North Atlantic. A hazard to shipping and navigation, yes, but a small price to pay.

I can see Hillary as the consummate liar, but gaffes aren´t lies. I think people will begin to really question her mental state, not that she´s crazy but that her brain is not working quite right. Maybe the injury did a lot more damage than anyone is letting on, but it is becoming evident.

A coalition of 20 transparency and ethics watchdog groups are fed up with CIA Director John Brennan´s leadership and are calling on President Obama to ask him to step down. The group, which includes the Project on Government Oversight, the Sunlight Foundation and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, among many others, on Tuesday accused the CIA of abusing its power and obstructing the Senate Intelligence Committee’s investigation into agency’s use of torture in the years following the Sept. 11 attacks. In a letter to President Obama, the groups, which includes a number of left-leaning organizations, argued that the CIA

Regulars at the Vineyard Golf Club in Martha’s Vineyard were gob-smacked when President Obama unexpectedly strolled onto a nearby green and they were immediately frisked. “There was no warning he was coming,” sniffed a guest. “There was security on the way in, but no word as to why they were there.” The member added, “While eating, overlooking the golf course, guests had to stand up and be wanded.” One asked if he could finish his hot soup first, and an Obama security man cracked, ominously, “So, you’re not cooperating?” But Obama did, “go around and shake everyone’s hand waiting on the course.”

WASHINGTON — More than 2,000 immigrants facing deportation in 2013 were released strictly for budget reasons by immigration agency officials who kept the homeland security secretary in the dark about the plan, according to a federal watchdog´s report. This lack of communication led the Obama administration to wrongly deny for weeks that 2,228 immigrants facing deportation had been released, according to the report Tuesday from the Homeland Security Department´s inspector general. It also said officials at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement did not adequately plan for the increase in immigrant arrests at the Mexican border and did not track available funds or

While Congress is on recess and President Obama vacations in Martha´s Vineyard, a coalition of free press groups is escalating an already-aggressive campaign against the Obama administration for allegedly freezing out the press and cracking down on reporters. The flood of critical letters and petitions and statements from First Amendment groups marks a new level of tension in a relationship that for years has been deteriorating. Though Obama, as a candidate in 2008, was widely seen to enjoy favorable media treatment, his administration now is fielding accusations that it´s one of the least transparent in history. It’s official: Obamaism is dead. Hillary Clinton killed it. It wasn’t so much a mercy killing as an expedient one, but that’s politics in the best sense. The important thing is that she broke the Democratic omertà code by stating the obvious: The president’s policy of having America sit on the sidelines of a burning world is a disaster that threatens our national security. The power of her argument is confirmed by a report that a testy Obama called it “horses–t” to congressional leaders. The president who spent years touting the withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq suddenly has had to distance himself from that action.
