Jay Carney Takes Shot at the Media’s
‘Shallow’ and ‘Theatrical’ White
House Coverage

Mediaite, by Josh Feldman

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 7/3/2014 12:59:03 PM

The incredible burden has been lifted from Jay Carney‘s shoulders now that he is no longer the White House Press Secretary, and in an exit interview with The New York Times Magazine, he opens up about what he thinks of the media’s “shallow” (and in the briefing room, “theatrical”) approach to covering the White House. He reflected on his time as a journalist and how he viewed the profession on the other side of the dais, saying, “I’m proud of a lot of my work. But if I had known then what I know now, I would have succumbed less often

Comments:
It really is horrifying that we have so many delusional radicals in Washington. Carney dismissed the idea that the Obama administration is the most secretive ever and has stonewalled journalists??? Un.be.lievable! The brazenness of this lunatic just takes your breath away.

The United States shut down its embassy in Libya on Saturday and evacuated its diplomats to neighboring Tunisia under U.S. military escort amid a significant deterioration in security in Tripoli as fighting intensified between rival militias, the State Department said. "Due to the ongoing violence resulting from clashes between Libyan militias in the immediate vicinity of the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli, we have temporarily relocated all of our personnel out of Libya," spokeswoman Marie Harf said. The withdrawal underscored the Obama administration´s concern about the heightened risk to American diplomats abroad, particularly in Libya where

Representative Raul Grijalva (D., Ariz.) thinks that President Obama should pursue his immigration goals unilaterally, even if it hurts vulnerable Democrats in the 2014 midterms. “That’ll always be the case,” the Congressional Hispanic Caucus co-chair told National Review Online when asked if Democrats were still nervous that the border crisis had turned Obama’s expected orders into a political liability. “You’ll always have members whose political vulnerability they tie entirely to immigration,” Grijalva said. “We didn’t make progress when we were in the majority because we were being protective of those —

‘He who controls the past controls the future,” observed George Orwell. “He who controls the present controls the past.” This, in one pithy, symmetrical little maxim, has been the story of Obamacare from its conception to the present day. Since its official launch, in October of 2013, the architects and salesmen of our ill-conceived phalanx of reforms have been engaged in some of the most pronounced historical revisionism of the modern era — truth being subjugated to expedience; idealism being repackaged in the pathetic language of good intentions; and the past being tweaked at every tricky stage. Secretary of State John Kerry lauded the U.S. role in promoting religious freedom worldwide after the release of Sudanese Christian Meriam Ibrahim. Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Lapo Pistelli helped arrange Ibrahim’s departure from Sudan to Rome, according to Vatican Radio. Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi welcomed her at the airport; she then met with Pope Francis at the Vatican for about half an hour along with her husband, American citizen Daniel Wani, her son Martin and baby Maya, born in prison two months ago. Before her death sentence was overturned, Ibrahim faced capital punishment for marrying a Christian man.

Sharyl Attkisson reports that the US Customs and Border Patrol has released three Mexican police officers who strayed into Texas while pursuing cop killer suspects. The officers were armed with AR-15 rifles and Beretta 9-mm pistols. The three claim to have had “tunnel vision” during the pursuit, when they walked across a dry section of riverbed from Juarez to El Paso. They were pursuing suspects who had shot and killed a police officer and wounded another during an ambush close to the border. A 16-year-old girl was also wounded in the firefight. Republican lawmakers are challenging the Obama administration over a newly announced plan to expand the use of U.S. military bases to house illegal immigrant children, warning that it will put a strain on troops and threaten military readiness. The Pentagon confirmed this week that Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has approved a request from the Department of Health and Human Services to house an additional 5,000 minors at DOD facilities. The announcement has fueled concerns that what was initially described as a short-term measure is becoming an open-ended commitment. “It’s very evident that this is not a short-term solution,”

Eleanor Holmes Norton, the non-voting congressional delegate for the District of Columbia, angrily sputtered during a congressional hearing Friday that the White House should not be held up to scrutiny, saying that there was no right to know what it was doing behind closed doors. "You don´t have a right to know everything in a separation-of-powers government, my friend. That is the difference between a parliamentary government and a separation-of-powers government," Norton said during a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing. It was, to put mildly, a significant departure from the more traditional liberal stance

House Republicans are growing anxious about leaving town for the August recess without passing a border bill. President Obama appears poised to take executive action that would legalize as many as 5 million illegal immigrant parents of U.S.-born children, a prospect that riles local immigration critics and adds a new dimension to concern about swelling immigrant populations in states like Massachusetts eyed as hosting sites for thousands of children who crossed the border unaccompanied. The Associated Press reported yesterday White House officials are laying the groundwork for an executive order that would automatically legalize roughly 5 million of an estimated 11 million people who have entered the country without legal authorization or overstayed their visas.

When The Times of Israel’s Avi Issacharoff first reported the content of John Kerry’s ceasefire proposal on Friday afternoon, I wondered if something had gotten lost in translation. It seemed inconceivable that the American secretary of state would have drafted an initiative that, as a priority, did not require the dismantling of Hamas’s rocket arsenal and network of tunnels dug under the Israeli border. Yet the reported text did not address these issues at all, nor call for the demilitarization of Gaza. It seemed inconceivable that the secretary’s initiative would specify the need to address Hamas’s demands for a lifting of

Former presidential nominee Mitt Romney would win the popular vote if a rematch of the 2012 election against President Obama were held today, a CNN/ORC poll has revealed. According to the poll, if the 2012 election were held again today, Romney would receive 53% of the popular vote, and Mr. Obama would receive 44%, CNN reported. Obama beat Romney 51%-47% in the actual election. The poll said, however, that the former Massachusetts governor would lose against Hillary Clinton by double digits in a hypothetical election. Mrs. Clinton would earn 55% of the vote, with Mr. Romney at 42%.

Murray´s article is a devastating deconstruction of claims that marijuana is relatively safe, or at least safer than alcohol. And, as he points out, it thereby undermines much of the basis of the New York Times´s blithely irresponsible editorial endorsement of marijuana legalization. Read Murray´s whole piece. The Catholic Church—through the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Migration—both paved the road for Barack Hussein Obama’s ultimate takeover of Free West society and continues to actively enable the Fundamental Transformation of America by sinking the US in a tsunami of illegal aliens. In coming to Obama’s aid in erasing forever America’s borders, the bishops sold the USA out, including its Catholics, for the proverbial 30 pieces of silver. In biblical terms, Obama and the Catholic bishops—who both birthed his progress to the seat of power and back him on his Fundamental Transformation mission—are in in league with the devil.

World leaders are increasingly pointing to U.S. President Obama’s failures in the Middle East. Some are direct and blunt. For example, during his recent visit to Brazil, Russian President Vladimir Putin was asked by journalists about U.S. sanctions against Russia due to the Ukrainian crisis. While naturally condemning such moves, part of his response was to accuse the Obama administration of “encouraging war between neighboring states.” In the same context, Putin added: American objectives have not been realized, nor have they accomplished anything, because everything has collapsed. Afghanistan faces problems, and Iraq and Libya are falling apart. Egypt also was
