Strong jobs report helps 2014 Dems
The Hill (Washington DC), by Brent Budowsky

The Bureau of Labor Statistics has announced the good news from the June jobs report. The American economy created 288,000 jobs and the jobless rate fell to 6.1 percent. It is important to note that the labor participation rate remained steady, which means the fall in the jobless rate was caused by new jobs and fewer layoffs, not workers dropping out of the labor force. Note: The latest Gallup poll on jobs this week showed improvement, and the ADP jobs report released this week also showed improvement on jobs. Coupled with today´s good news, there have now been three positive

The election drumbeat begins, expect to see these "amazing" "strong" and "Substantial" job number increases coupled with a positively meteoric "drop" in the unemployment rate to less than 6% by the second Tuesday in November. After which, of course the unexpected recalculation of actual Jobs created will be announced on the last page of the classified section.

The economy is getting better, at an agonizingly slow pace. Sorta in the same sense as "once you stop beating your head against the brick wall the headache will start to go away". The only positive news in this report is the fact that for the first tome in 6 years the job participation rate didn´t fall. It didn´t go up but at least it didn´t fall.

Of course even at this stellar and "unprecedented" rate of job growth it will still take more than a generation to replace the millions of Jobs lost during Obozos reign.

Government scoring its own performance - and millions are fooled. Lois Lerner is but one individual - there are tens of thousands like her in every federal bureaucracy including BLS. Leftists down to their black souls.

In other news, the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars has declared his team to be Super Bowl champions. No competitive games required in the upcoming season.

I´m calling bull hockey on this one! There are way too many people I know who are still out of work, or who are struggling by only being able to find part-time jobs. If there are any real jobs that have been created under this Marxist administration, they are of the lowest order of the lowest pay grade only.

We lost 523,000 full time jobs that were replaced with 799,000 part time jobs and 111,000 were added to the non-participation number making it a new record high. Oh and by the way those leaving the work force are not people taking early retirement. Those workers in the 50 to 65 age group have kept their jobs at a higher rate than any other age group. It is the younger crowd that can´t get a job after collage that are out of work.
This is not a strong jobs report anyone that says it is is flat out lying.

Any hiring would be an improvement from the 97 plus Million who no longer can receive unemployment benefits or not looking for a job.

Numbers never tell the truth in their "job recover" reports. The situation has not improved.

Did the "economy" create the jobs, or the Government? I read somewhere else that most of the jobs being "created" are government, make-work jobs.

If this were Egypt you could pick this article up, put it on a nail on the outside of your hut, and dry it for fuel.

Every number the Obama administration releases is modified at least twice to minimize its damage. The Q1 economic growth was initially just barely negative, but then revised twice more so that even if it shrank some more in Q2, it could be reported as improving. Since 2 quarters in a row is a recession, this fudging is essential. But if the economy declined, who is hiring more people?

I call camel dung on this story.

Jeff Bell was a reform conservative before it was cool. He’s spent his career arguing with a risk-averse Republican establishment. He pushed Ronald Reagan to embrace the supply-side doctrine of tax cuts before deficit reduction. He spent the 1990s warning the GOP that its tax policy favored investment capital over human capital, corporate interests over working families. He designed a family-friendly flat tax that reduced payroll taxes, increased the child tax credit, taxed capital gains and regular income at the same rate, and ended business expensing. Payroll tax relief and a generous child tax credit are elements of today’s reform

And while Todd isn’t as liberal as his predecessor, he has played defense for the Barack Obama administration on a number of fronts. Most recently he dismissed the IRS-Tea Party scandal by asking “are there any actual real victims?” and diminished Benghazi hearings as “partisan.” The NBC News chief White House correspondent also claimed Benghazi figure Susan Rice was simply a “victim” of conservative media but in the past compared Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin to a “car-wreck.” (videos after

Very few individuals who were not politicians or generals have had a major impact on American political history. Phyllis Schlafly is one of the exceptions. Twice. In 1964, she helped launch the grass-roots conservative movement that flourishes today, transformed by the internet, and in 1972 she inaugurated what came to be called “social conservatism.” More than any other individual, she was responsible for the nomination of Barry Goldwater, and thus, indirectly, Ronald Reagan. And virtually single-handedly, she defeated the so-called Equal Rights Amendment. Schlafly was born 90 years ago today in St. Louis, the daughter of John and Odile Stewart.

Federal law and Senate rules require expenses to be split between campaign and Senate accounts when campaign functions overlap with official business. CNN: Under federal law and Senate rules, the cost of a trip that includes official and campaign stops must often be prorated between Senate and campaign accounts. However, if the campaign activity is “incidental” to the official trip, the expense doesn’t need to be split up.
