Don’t Recognize That Wireless

Bloomberg, by Olga Kharif

The crackdown on unauthorized mobile-phone charges that led to a federal complaint against T-Mobile US Inc. (TMUS:US) this week poses a threat to other U.S. carriers that fail to stamp out the practice and offer refunds. The Federal Trade Commission filed a suit this week accusing T-Mobile US Inc. of placing “bogus charges onto customers’ bills” for items such as flirting tips, horoscopes and celebrity gossip. Vermont Attorney General William Sorrell said in an interview he may seek to get reimbursements from all the top wireless providers for fees from the practice known as cramming -- and other states may

It´s a very real problem. My ATT wireless account was crammed. I spent an hour on the phone to get it stopped. During my conversation with the ATT rep it came out that the ATT marketing department was involved. I hope all the carriers get hit with fees and penalties and are forced to refund every cent.

Don´t know why T-Mobile is being singled out; my old AT&T account did this too. Maybe T-Mobile donated to a Republican or something.

Tiger Woods struggled to a two-over-par 72 during the third round of the Bridgestone Invitational on Saturday and lost his cool along the way when he cursed at a cameraman who was closely following the former No. 1 golfer in the world. Woods hit a shot from the rough after a wayward drive at No. 6 when he began walking up the fairway as a cameraman came dashing his way. Woods appeared to begin to swing his club in anger toward the ground when he realized the cameraman was too close for comfort. He then not-so-politely asked the cameraman to give

WASHINGTON – Congress approved a $225 million package to replenish Israel´s missile defenses with its last order of business before a five-week recess, as the Jewish state´s cease-fire with Hamas unraveled and Israeli forces pushed deep into Gaza in search of a missing army officer. The House´s 395-8 vote in favor late Friday followed Senate adoption of the legislation by voice vote earlier in the day. The money is directed toward restocking Israel´s Iron Dome, which has been credited with shooting down dozens of incoming rockets fired by Palestinian militants over 3 1/2 weeks of war. Is the Chicken Pox story a cover for the more troublesome Tuberculosis outbreak ? Is the New Mexico quarantine really because of Chicken Pox ? A hard-won internationally brokered truce between Israel and Palestinian militants collapsed within hours Friday after the Israeli military said one of its soldiers was missing amid heavy fighting in the southern Gaza Strip and may have been captured by Hamas fighters. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stopped short of declaring the cease-fire dead, but accused Hamas of “flagrantly violating” what was to have been a three-day truce. Hamas in turn insisted it was Israel that had broken the cease-fire terms agreed to only hours earlier.(Snip) Israel announces that Hamas has thus ended the humanitarian cease-fire and prevented the residents of Gaza

That was the most astonishing moment of today’s galling Obama press conference. Human Rights Council that Israel was falling short in its duty to protect citizens in the Gaza Strip from getting killed by its rockets. “There is a strong possibility that international law has been violated, in a

An independent panel appointed by the Pentagon and Congress said Thursday that President Obama’s strategy for sizing the armed services is too weak for today’s global threats. The National Defense Panel called on the president to dump a major section of his 2014 Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) and write a broader strategy that requires the military to fight on multiple fronts at once. It also said the shrinking U.S. armed forces, which are being downsized to fit that strategy and budget cuts, is a “serious strategic misstep on the part of the United States.” The forces’ numbers spelled out in Mr. Obama’s

Bill O’Reilly obviously doesn’t care for how President Obama and the Democrats are running things, but tonight he also had some tough words for the GOP. He asked guest Kate Obenshain why the Republicans continue to remain in the muck with the left and try to “destroy one another” instead of getting things done. O’Reilly asked, “Shouldn’t they rise above it?” Obenshain argued that it’s Democrats doing all the nasty politicking and name-calling, as well as the ginning up of impeachment. O’Reilly, however, noted some conservatives are bringing it up and said there’s “plenty of hate on both sides.” Obenshain objected, “No,

Even the American left is finally realizing that this is the strangest administration in living memory. Obama simply has no real precedents, which is why he seems so utterly foreign. American presidents tend to be pragmatists, but Obama is locked into a simpleminded ideology of Good vs. Evil. Obama is Good, and anybody who disagrees with him is Evil. Much of this oddity stems from the president’s personality, which many people have described as a mix of major narcissism, borderline personality disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder. Personality disordered people can be very functional in their jobs.
