Poll: Voters Support Hobby Lobby
Decision by 10-Point Margin

Weekly Standard, by John McCormack

A new Rasmussen poll finds that 49 percent of American voters support a religious exemption to the federal government´s contraception mandate, while 39 percent oppose such an exemption: Half of voters agree with the U.S. Supreme Court that a business owner should be able to opt out of Obamacare’s contraceptive mandate if it violates his or her religious beliefs. But most also say a company’s level of contraceptive coverage is not that important to their decision to work there. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 43% of Likely U.S. Voters think businesses should be required by law

Another good thing about this decision. There´s not a single liberal left in Seattle. Tuesday, their heads all exploded.
Though I was surprised at the Seattle Times comment section, I don´t think it was quite 50/50 but a lot of commenters were in favor of Hobby Lobby and agreed with the decision.

The phrasing of the question is critical to the results of the poll. For example, one liberal pollster asked, "Do you think the evil CEO of religious fanatic Hobby Lobby, who believes that all women should be barefoot and pregnant, should go into the bedrooms of his female employees and confiscate their birth control pills?"

This 10% is before the left starts the real smear campaign. It will take some heat off the Koch Brothers for a while.

It´s disgraceful that it´s only ten percent; it´s OMINOUS that it was a 5-4 decision. It should have been unanimous in favor of religious freedom. The left would ban Christianity itself if they could. They might yet.

ABC´s Harris Falsely Hits Sarah

Nightline co-anchor Dan Harris on Monday night mocked Sarah Palin for her new internet channel and falsely identified the conservative as "the woman who says she can see Russia from her house." [MP3 audio here.] No, she didn´t. It was Saturday Night Live´s Tina Fey in 2008 who uttered this line. In the tease for the report, Harris played the actual quote: "You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska." So what is the point of misleading viewers with something Palin didn´t say? Making his contempt clear, Harris derided the Republican as the "former half-term governor of Alaska."

Italian journalist leaves Gaza, tells truth once free from Hamas retaliation. Yesterday one of the stories thrust into the mainstream media was nearly simultaneous explosions in a Palestinian neighborhood and at al-Shifa hospital. The media immediately took the Hamas line that it was Israeli missiles. Later, the IDF stated that it had not fired on those locations, and that the explosions were misfired Hamas or Islamic Jihad missiles. The media played it as he said, he said. But an Italian journalist has just left Gaza and is telling the truth about what happened now that he needs not fear Hamas

On his Tuesday radio show, Sean Hannity went off on a rant against Secretary of State John Kerry, whose settlement offer was unanimously rejected by the Israeli, which was an unprecedented show of disapproval by that cabinet. Hannity accused the Obama administration’s head diplomat of lacking the moral clarity to understand the gravity of the threat Hamas has posed to Israel’s security. “It’s so bad, the Israeli cabinet, legendary by the way for its inability to agree on anything, actually rejected Kerry’s proposal 19-0,” Hannity said. “All across Israel, today, there’s nothing but universal condemnation for John Kerry

Liberal darling and free-birth-control advocate Sandra Fluke is her own biggest donor in her state Senate race, according to official California campaign finance reports. Fluke donated $12,000 to her campaign and $4,826.27 in non-monetary contributions. While $16,826.27 may not sound like a lot, Fluke also loaned her campaign $100,000. Where does a 2012 law school grad working as a social justice attorney get a loan that size? Her campaign never responded to a Washington Examiner inquiry, so we’re left to speculate. Perhaps the loan was in part secured by the family of Fluke’s husband, Adam Mutterperl.

"Chastity is so important. It is not only a name. It is an ornament for both women and men," Arinc said, according to Hurriyet daily newspaper. A woman, a child and a baby have died in Pakistan during riots over an allegedly blasphemous Facebook post. Their home was one of several set on fire in the city of Gujranwala on Sunday and another woman miscarried during the violence. The woman, her seven-year-old granddaughter and her baby sister died of suffocation, according to police officials. The victims were members of the Ahmadi religious sect, who identify with Islam but are widely regarded as heretics in Pakistan and face persecution. Rioting erupted as rumours spread that a young Ahmadi man, identified as Saqib, shared a blasphemous picture on

Israel´s Channel 10 has reported that dozens of Palestinians emerged from the devastated Gaza neighborhood of Shajaiya to protest against the war, and that Hamas rounded twenty of them up and shot them in the street. The report, delivered during a panel discussion, was based in turn on reports by Palestinian sources, translated by Channel 10´s analyst. The demonstrators reportedly blamed Hamas for the destruction of the neighborhood, and Hamas´s response was to kill them all immediately. Asked how the demonstration could have come about in the first place, the analyst speculated that there could be other pockets of resistance

You can understand President Obama´s current political problems -- and how those problems could make things very tough for his party in this fall´s midterm election -- in a single word. And that word is "competence". Obama was elected in 2008 on a stated promise that he would restore competence to government. He pitched himself as the antidote to "Heck of a job, Brownie" and the Bush years, the person who would always put the most qualified candidate in every job in his Administration. That the basic functioning of government would never be in question. Almost six years on from
